사회적인 기업에 가깝다는 이용후기를 읽고 한번 이용해봐야지 했는데 이번에 보홀에서 마지막 하루를 보냈습니다. 호텔 스텝이 농아가 많아서 그런지 호텔에는 곳곳에 그 영향이 있더군요. 또한 수화책을 파는 것도 참 인상적이었습니다. 호텔 객실은 평범하고 약간 낡았지만 안경원숭이 연필소묘도 벽에 붙어 있고 나름 형식은 다 갖춰더군요. 바닥이 나무 바닥인데 느낌이 편안하고 좋았습니다. 방은 환기도 잘 되고 괜찮았는데 화장실이 좀 답답한 느낌을 받았어요. 아침밥도 주고 또 친절하게 뒷날 공항(페리)까지 무료로 태워준다고 상세하게 알려줘서 셔틀 잘 이용했습니다.
호텔 특징:
수영장이 있으나 작습니다. 호텔에 식당에 여러군데 있어요. 이용은 안했지만요. 아주 가까운 곳에 아일랜드 시티 몰(ICM)있어요. 현지인들은 편도 10페소에 트라이시클을 이용하는데 저한테는 맨처음 25페소 부릅니다. 적당히 깎아서 타고 다니세요. 아이랜드 시티몰은 영화관도 있고 슈퍼마켓도 있고 편의시설이 거의다 있습니다.

이 호텔의 특이한 점은 설립자가 사회운동가란 점입니다.
그래선지 종업원 중에는 청각장애인들이 많습니다.
그러므로 미숙한 점이 있긴 하지만 손님들에게 성의를 다해서 서비스하려는 노력은 예쁘게 보입니다.
호텔에서 투어를 예약할 때도 바가지 쓰지않게 알아서 예약하니 주변 투어를 할려면 굳이 시내로 나갈 것 없이 호텔 프론트에 부탁하면 됩니다.
시내 셔틀밴을 운영하는데 엄청 편했습니다.(공항 픽업도 마찬가지.)
가까이에(도보로 15분 정도) 보홀에서 가장 큰 아일랜드 쇼핑몰과 청과물 시장이 있어서 쇼핑을 즐길 수 있어 좋았습니다.

교통이 편리하고 잠시들러 가기에 좋은호텔. 직원들이 수화로 이야기 해서 처음엔 어리둥절 했지만, 장애인을 고용한 고용주는 칭찬 받을만했다. 모든곳이 금연이고 맥주를 제외한 주류는 판매하지 않더군요.
그러나, 많은 개미와 모기는 각오해야 할듯. 또한 매트리스가 너무 딱딱해 허리가 아프더군요.

Outstanding hotel and staff
Owned/operated by mostly the hearing impaired. Excellent food. Excellent staff.

My fiance' and I enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The best part is its a hotel that gives opportunity to dozens of disabled folks thought the IDEA foundation. Rooms were very clean and well maintained. The pool was a little small, but well maintained and clean. The hotel's van will take you to their sister restaurant for a nominal fee. You must check out the Garden Cafe; also primarily run by the Deaf.

Staff is not honest

One evening I forgot my glasses on the dining table. The morning after, when I inquired, they looked around and said they could not be located. The waiter that looked after our table would not come in before 6:00 PM and we had to check out at 12:00, so we could not wait. The staff made no effort to help and just looked unconcerned. I never received any news from them.

Our room was lovely, very nicely decorated and with a wonderfully comfortable bed. There is a mini kitchenette with fridge, microwave and sink, but no coffee making facilities. The bathroom although small was modern, very clean and included toiletries. The staff were friendly and helpful although communication with some of the deaf staff posed a few problems. The only negative comments I have regard the food. The included breakfast was terrible, a few beans, an undercooked egg and a piece of toast wasn't a great start to the day and we didn't bother with breakfast the second morning. We tried lunch but the offerings were not much better, the fish and chips being all but inedible. Having said that, I would not hesitate to stay again as the room, staff and price were all very good.
