Perfect. Very clean. Friendly. Helpful. Silent. Beuatyful rom. Hot wather in the shower!We have travelled a lot and this is absolutely among the best! Absolutely underrated.

Inexpensive, friendly, good cause--not well-run

i had booked the Family Room as it was still so cheap i thought i might as well have extra space--and extra towels and extra breakfast and extra amenities -- for a minimal increase in price.
unfortunately it didn't work that way.
there was no safety box in the first family room. in the second family room the 'safety box' wasn't bolted in and i easily lifted it and carried it to the front desk in demonstration of its pointlessness. they had to demote me to a deluxe room to get the in-room safe they'd promised--but that was a room wherein you had to stand on a flimsy resin chair to reach the a/c controls. no thank you. the fourth room they moved me to was acceptable--despite the cramped space and the 21" tv in lieu of the 42" in the "family" room--until i tried to flush the toilet. it didn't work. some 2-3 hours after i "checked-in", maintenance done and their mess "cleaned up", i had an inhabitable room. although the double bed was two single mattresses shoved together on a platform--not unique in budget hotels, but still uncomfortable; and the shower pressure barely surpassed a trickle.
i was promised a refund of the difference (between Family and Deluxe rooms) but upon check out i was told it takes a month to pay them, so they would mail me the "difference" a month from now. i had little hope--or desire-- to be sent in a month, so i pointed to the tip box at the reception counter and in view of half the staff said to the manager "get the refund and put it in this box".
maybe the staff can get better service from management than i could.

if you're traveling as a single and want to go on any tour, book in advance to get into a group hire. when i asked to get a ride of any sort to go see the chocolate hills, the best price offered me was 3,000 php. unless i would ride a motorcycle thru the mountains for hours. i declined both. instead i found another hotel with ocean view--and spent a wonderfully peaceful day and night --with a homecooked meal included -- for half the price of the bumpy van ride.
