Baiyun District - Sanyuanli hotels & places to stay

I was pleasantly surprised by how wonderfully modern this hotel was, particularly for the cost. It is a good value. The hotel staff was excellent from the front desk to the concierge to the cleaning staff. The only drawback is the location. It is a taxi ride (12 RMB) away from Sanyuanli station which is the nearest to the Metro line. Staying here necessitates frequent taxi rides. There are restaurants on the other side of the freeway and some shopping areas and China post about 1 km away.

I had stay and visit to the Osotto at Guangzhou town last year, which was excellent for both hotel room and the spa experience. Infact this baiyun Osotto customer service was below standard. The midnight front desk manager name ms keh was very rude and provide no solution while we finish our spa at 4am and request us to went up to our room to get our credit card to settle the spa bill. First of all, the same scenerio happen in haizho Osotto and we allow to transfer bill to room and settle together while check out. Instead this time, we need to went up and went down again to reception middle of the night and the Mgr was rude and bad customer service. If Osotto do not carry themselves as the best spa in Guangzhou, such standard can be maintain.

Location is good for business and shopping but that's the only good thing. Staff speaks no English. Don't pay breakfast with bookings unless you are Chinese. They only offer Chinese porridge and no alternative. The hotel hallway is often blocked with big boxes and goods which is a big health and safety hazard. There is no security on who comes in and go out. The surprise of all, I was assaulted unprovoked by a Chinese girl who works at the hotel and nobody did anything about it. When I asked reception to help me call the police, I was told it was not their problem so I should get on with it. I am still waiting to hear what Agoda will do about my complaint

I am a Hanting hotel member & I got its membership earlier this year when I had a pleasant experience of staying around 2 weeks in its other (Huangshi Xilu west) branch which is way better than this pathetic Sanyuanli branch, not only this branch is within an old run down building but the worst part was the staff which is totally illiterate & uncooperative. also the worst part was when Agoda let me down miserably after I tried checking in via my successful confirmed booking but the hotel attendant failed to acknowledge my Agoda booking despite my best efforts to show him everything like Agodas email, confirmation number, booking receipt but because of poor coordination , lack of training & above all illiteracy the guy kept me on hold for 2hrs and despite being connected to Agoda agents on fone they failed to help me & said its a system glitch & assured me of compensation but I didn't get any to date :(

after staying in the other chain hotel in vienna foshan i was very disappointed in this sanyuanli vienna hotel foshan vienna was very good this hotel front desk was poor service no wifi available but did have lan line only after i upgraded to a delux room its on a main highway and there is no help from the buss boy to get a taxi and taxi were difficult to get heaps taxi going past all with passagers rooms wernt keept clean and bath area was crampt not really impressed for the price

Booked a few days just to see if this hotel was as good as the reviews suggested and ended up staying here during my whole stay in Guangzhou. Mini room was simple (matress on the floor) but clean (a.o. very fresh looking linnen). Staff don't speak English very well but were extremely helpful the best they could the one time I needed them. Location - although in the old, crowded (and sometimes referred to as the dodgy) area of the city, the hotel's surroundings looked safe to me, lots of people still working around late at night. The subway station is only 100m away, and there are a lot of restaurants, bakeries and most helpful a big big supermarket open until 10pm so there is no way you will run out of food. Overall very positive, will stay here again for sure.

The location of this place is not bad, at least for me. Walk like 10mins to reach the subway station. And the bus station just in front of the building. But little bit hard to get a taxi in busy time. And I got a incredible low price of a standard room, just 30 dollars almost 180 Chinese Yuan that already includes tax and service fee. So for personally I recommend this place for a stay will not disappoint on you.

Pros: Clean Cooking facilities Friendly staff that tried hard to understand Big rooms Sofa Good convenince store downstairs Supermarket at Xicun station Cons: More than 1km from subway Can be difficult to find, you need to go around the back of the building on the north west side and go up to the 13th floor Little English spoken (normal for Chinese hotels) Cleaned rooms at around 5pm, just as I always came back and wanted to relax Not many restaurants around Verdict (would I stay there again?): We enjoyed the hotel, but walking to and from the subway was a pain. After walking for 6-7 hours around the city, it was difficult to walk all the way back to the hotel. So if the hotel was close to the subway, I would be happy to go back as it was big, clean and good value for money. Since it is so far from the subway, i will probably consider other options if I go back to Guangzhou.
