Good location for shopping and dining”

Great locations, great room, great staffs

Stayed with Raffles Beijing Hotel for 2 nights and found that this hotel is one of the best I have stayed in... The price is considered at the reasonable, but there is no regret for it... Location is great, just beside Wangfujing Walking Street and also shopping malls around it. Definitely not an issue to shop and dine if you stay in this hotel. Within walking distance (approx. 15 mins) to Forbidden City. Room is nicely decorated, lighted and gave me a warm feeling like back home. Raffles Beijing staffs is also great, always smile and around to help the guests. Overall experience is great & nice, one of the best hotel in Beijing city. Thumbs up and highlightly recommended.

Great location with very good service”

Clean, right smack in the shopping street of Beijing

we like the location of the hotel alot as it is at the mouth of the beijing shopping street, wangfujing. it's a maximum of 15 mins walk to many tourist attractions like the forbidden city, wangfujing, tian an men and etc. the staff are polite and helpful as well. as we took a midnight flight, we arrived at the hotel much earlier than the check in time of 2pm. however,we were assured that they will do their best in order for us to check in asap. if there's 1 thing that may be of an inconvenience, it will be a lack of air con during winter time. as i was in beijing during the heavy smog period, it wasnt advisable to open up the small window panel to cool the room down, but the vents were just blowing out warm air. luckily the heavy smog was cleared the 2nd day of our trip!

Pleasant Stay in Beijing”

Clean Spacious Room. Great location, close to Metro, Food and Shopping Area. Staffs were attentive and cater to our needs.

We are in Beijing from 9 to 14 Dec 2015 and stay in Raffles for all 6 nights. Initially, we only booked 3 nights for the landmark room and intended to stay in other hotels around the area, as Raffles have a promotion of 3 nights for the price of 2. After the first night, we decided to stay for 3 more nights and the staffs allow us to stay in the same landmark room although we booked the executive room for the next 3 nights. We have a twin bed, but they were big enough for 2 persons, so our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children, age 8 and 12) can all stay in one room. The twin beds can be adjusted to join together as one very big bed for 4. Location was great, close to WangFuJing Shopping area and lots of things to eat around there. We visited most of the places, including, Tianmen, Forbidden City, Beihai Park, Temple of Heaven, Yonghe (lama) temple, Nanshan Ski resort, all by Metro and bus. Only join tour bus for the 1 day trip to Great Wall and Ming Tomb. Overall, very pleasant trip in Beijing.

Excellent hotel to stay in when visiting Beijing”

Location, location, location (the class and standard of a Raffles Hotel are taken as a given)

The Raffles Beijing is an excellent choice for any traveller looking to visit Beijing on a middle to middle-upper budget. Thanks to a superb deal from Agoda, stayed there for 6 nights on my first visit to Beijing. Without exaggeration, the Raffles Beijing's location couldn't be any more central - it's a 3-minute stroll to Wangfuiing Street (Beijing's main pedestrian street), a 12-15 minute walk to the Forbidden City, the National Museum of China and Tiananmen Square, and for those of you inclined to take the subway (which itself is an excellent way of navigating the city), the subway entrance is literally at the hotel's doorstep. Not to mention, just stepping into the lobby provides some much appreciated respite from the millions of domestic and foreign tourists that throng the streets of Beijing. For comfort, convenience, and privacy, can't go wrong with the Raffles.

Very Good Location”

The Beijing Hotel NUO is located next to the Wangfujing street and subway station. And also about a kilometer to Tiananmen and Forbidden City. Its a very ideal location. The hotel staff is attentive and supportive. Room wise is spacious. The only complaint I have is the water pressure is very low. Otherwise I will stay at this hotel in my next visit to Beijing.

Great location, excellent customer services, spacious room with nice bed, beautiful decorated lobby ”

Excellent customer services and helpful concierge really made our Beijing discovery easier. Beautiful pieces of art and painting are displayed in hotel for viewing. Large and grandeur hotel lobby from an over 100 year old building. Our room was very spacious with nice amenities. Hotel location is why we chose this hotel. It located minutes from Forbidden City and famous Wangfujing street with shops and restaurants. Subways are near the hotel for easy transportation. Overall we would recommend this hotel, great rate for it's convenient location and excellent customer service!

Top Notch Service in a Beautiful Hotel in a Perfect Location”

From the moment we walked in the door we knew this was the perfect choice. We were greeted by the manager Aref Sayegh. We received a nice surprise and were upgraded to a suite - #6513! All of the staff were extremely helpful - especially Anais Liu, who always greeted us with a smile. Once we checked into our beautiful room we also received some nuts and cookies! I would also highly recommend the breakfast! This is not something we normally do, but it was the best breakfast we had our entire stay in China! Kevin was amazing and also greeted us daily. The location is perfect and we were able to walk to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square and Wangfujing Street. This is definitely the hotel to stay at when visiting Beijing!

Excellent stay, exactly what was expected”

Location, staff, pretty much everything
We didn't find any

Check in was smooth at 9:30AM. We were offered a suppliment for breakfast and afternoon drinks on the concierge level. It included breakfast that morning also. Was a great addition. Arranged a late checkout during check-in as we had a late train out of Beijing. One of the staff thought checkout should be later and arranged 5 more hours for room occupancy at no cost. Breakfast was great and the one dinner we ate there was also very good. Positioned adjacent to Wangfujing and the Forbidden City/Tiananmen Square. Subways close by, food also. Great location to enjoy Beijing, which is a great city. They did everything right, at every step, what more can be said? We received exactly what we expected, personalized service, great room, great location.

Classic, Expensive Hotel in a Great Location”

Location, location, location (service too)

the rafles beijing is located within walking distance from the forbidden city in one direction and vibrant wangfujing street in the other. there is also a metro (subway) station nearby. other areas have more hutong life in the vicinity, but you can't have everything. it's a classic, old-world hotel with modern facilites like a pool and jacuzzi, fitness room, and a few bars and restaurants. food service is pricey like at most hotels of international caliber, but wangfujing and its sidestreets offer many options ranging from american fast food to vendors offering typical local street food to outdoor bars and sit-down chinese restaurants. i requested a non-smoking room, and it was fine within, but i did smell cigarette smoke in the hallway on the way to and from my room.

Two nights of loveliness !”

Location, decor and food

Paid extra for a decent hotel after a few disappointments elsewhere... Worth the extra in every way ! Beautiful decor, location superb, Forbidden City (closed Monday's) and Tianaman Square were ten minutes stroll down the road. City centre Main Street two minutes in the other direction. Whist in Beijing, try the Hot Pot with noodles at the restaurant on the 8th floor of the shopping centre opposite the Apple Store on the mains street... fantastic experience. Visited the Great Wall, awsome ! Taxi from the airport and back, plus a taxi to The Great Wall He was there on time even though our flight was changed, charged 250 RMB for airport runs and 700 RMB for the trip to the wall. Jingling, our English speaking taxi driver for the visit to the wall was so good, she even took us to a couple of markets on the way back to buy a few extra goodies... at our request of course. Hope this helps anyone visiting Beijing !

It is also very accessable for public transportation as it is located very close to Wangfujing Station of Beijing Subway. We had a very pleasant stay in the hotel for 3 nights. In the morning we would go to the tourist attractions, & in the night we went on a stroll in the nightlife & shopping district of Wangfujing St. The staff was VERY accommodative in whatever question we had & also spoke fluent english.

One of the best hotels we've ever stayed in Asia.”

We were upgraded into a suite with super king four poster bed with 2 bathrooms even larger than an average hotel room.

The moment we check-in we felt like we were very welcome already. Hank, in the concierge briefed and toured us and even accompanied us to our room. Li in the lounge was great and very friendly so as with the front desk staff, Mr ? From Romania. The staffs in the restaurant were also very friendly and helpful. The only thing we were not happy was the package tour arranged by Hank, which was not a professional tourist guide and a little dirty bus and not from a 5 star hotel standard. This, of course, was nothing to do with the hotel. We would like to come back in the future and we will definitely stay only in Raffles Beijing. There is no better hotel in Beijing than Raffles Beijing, location wise. Many places of interests like Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Museum, Shopping Malls, Market, and train station within few minutes walk.

Awesome Stay!!”

Beijing Hotel NUO is an awesome hotel for all people who visit Beijing! The team of the hotel is friendly and helpful. The room is spacious. The complimentary toiletries are of very good quality and brands. The hotel staff even prepared a cake to celebrate our honeymoon. The hotel location is very convenient, 2 mins walk to Wangfujing metro station. Wangfujing Shopping Street is just around the corner with many many malls for us to choose. I will definitely choose Beijing Hotel NUO again for my next visit

Best Hotel Ever!”

Fantastic location-near the shopping district & train station, excellent customer service, lovely & spacious room

English speaking & friendly staff that made us feel right at home even when we checked in at almost 1:30 in the morning! The lobby area is just absolutely magical with the grand staircase and the wonderfully lit giant Christmas tree. Our room was upgraded to a very spacious and well kept room facing the Chang An Avenue-best view for sunrise & sunset. Gym's machines were new and pool had a warm jacuzzi w/c was perfect for winter swimming! Breakfast package that we tried for 2 days was also excellent w/ a good variety of western & local cuisine choices. Hotel was walking distance to the Forbidden City and the Wangfujing shopping district. The train station was just a few meters away w/c can take you to any place in the city (best to take the train coz its cheap at only RMB 2 for any destination-whether near or far).

Old World Charm in Monumental City”

The Rooms, Location near the Forbidden City, Tianenmen Square, subway and famous Wangfujing Shopping Street and the gracious service.
Very few amenities in bathroom - surprising for a 5 star hotel. Lack of explanation of dining options in hotel and pricey coffee - $18 for a double expresso!

Adjacent (about 5 min walk) to the Forbidden City, this is a resplendent hotel with a lovely old world charm and this is evident in the way they warmly greet and escort you on your arrival. However, the room amenities was a little light considering the 5 star status (not even a toothbrush?). And there were also renovations going on which prevented me from enjoying the room during the day so had to go and get some sleep at the poolside (but not for long as a loud Chinese family came). Made me wonder if Agoda's rates are so low as we get rooms near renovations - should be warned about this when booking. This is the second hotel (out of 3) that were undergoing renovations. Still, the location, ambiance and general graciousness of the hotel make it a favourite choice for Beijing.

Beautiful hotel with a great location”

Very close to Tianamen Square and Forbidden city, Spacious and well furnished rooms, good room service

Arrived to a relaxing reception, sat down and talked about Beijing with the Raffles hotel ambassador, who gave some tips on touring the city while the check in was done. The room I had was spacious, quiet, and well furnished, with large beds, and tasteful carpets. The location is a short walk from Tianamen Square and the Forbidden City, and also to the Wangfujing Metro and shopping area.

Great Hotel”

The location is simply excellent as its withing walking distance (about 10 minutes) to Tiananmen & Forbidden City. At the back end of the hotel about 5 minutes walk, there is Wangfujing walking street & food market which offers so many varieties of food. The 2 famous restaurants for Peking Duck (Quanjude & DaDong is also within 5 to 10 minutes walk. The hotel itself is part of 3 grand hotels with so much history & beautifully decorated. The room is like a suite with separate living & sleeping area. Shower water pressure is good & the aircond is cold. The front desk staff can speak English & are willing to recommend tour packages at various price levels. Truly an excellent hotel & I would readily stay there again for my next visit to Beijing.

an oasis in a hectic city”

staff, location, quality of offering

we were welcomed on arrival by the hotel manager, he was extremely helpful and educated us on the subway, taxis, scammers, shopping and restuarants, this was key to enjoying the rest of our stay in Beijing. We had stayed in at other hotel (which closer to the Forbidden city) for a few days, the location of the Raffles is far better as it is closer to the subway and in a busy area close to restaurants, shopping and Tiananmen square. The staff at Raffles spoke (and comprehended) English which helped a lot.

Value for money for the amount we paid for”

Central location, comfortable bed, spacious room

When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff at the reception. They took great care of the check-in process, led us to the elevator and explained to us the different areas of the hotels and various restaurants. We booked a business room and it was a very spacious room for 2 person. Large bathroom with well stocked amenities. The bed is very comfortable which to us is one of the most important factor. I believed that the chambermaids are doing their job well, however they knocked on our doors once every few hours which can be rather annoying. The room design is a little dated...well this is an old hotel so we have no complain about it. The location is very centralised. It is just within walking distance to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Wangfujing.
