“4 star prices with 3 star rooms”
Booked 2 rooms for my family. The newer renovated room was ok and as you would expect, newer with less issues. The older,unrenovated room was, whilst clean, NOT a 5 star room as they claim. Firstly, with the air-conditioning at 16 Deg and high fan speed. The room was stuffy and hot. We asked the hotel to rectify, but the technician simply changed the output location of the central Aircon vent, use a temperature sensor, measured the temperature of the vent (which obviously would have been the coldest point), and declared the air-conditioning serviceable. Due to language barriers and the short stay, we decided not to pursue the matter. The room was slightly cooler after that, but definitely not the set temperature of 16 degrees(which still made the room feel stuffy and warm). Windows obviously couldn't be opened and so we were stuck with horrible ventilation during our stay marring our overall experience. Hotel buffets were overcrowded. Breakfast buffet had an average selection but as mentioned, overcrowded. Their "special BBQ night" had inadequate logistics. Not only insufficient sitting areas, but also cutlery was insufficient requiring guests to consistently have to wait for new ones. Being a BBQ night, their meat selection was average. 1 type of beef, 2 types of satay, 2 types of fish and extremely poorly smoked beef brisket(dry and unflavourful). Overall very average for a 5 star hotel. The only saving grace were the people, the CSOs were polite and took criticism well. Pricing on Agoda was considered average for a "5 star" thus my rating of 4 star pricing. Overall rooms were simply just a sore point for us as, being on a short getaway, spent some time relaxing or should I say "baking" in our sauna room. Location is good,if you enjoy being surrounded by beautiful nature and the views,but otherwise need to ride share minimum 15 to 20 mins away for a meal away from the restaurants of the hotel. Would I come back? Unfortunately no.
