The Gehua New Century Hotel is located between the olympic village and the center of the city, being a 10 minute taxi ride from the former and a 20 minute ride from the latter. Rooms are very well appointed, clean and spacious, and house keeping was prompt and efficient. Signage in the hotel was not so great and parts of it were still under construction/being renovated/not going to be finished? But for the duration of my stay, this was not too bad except for the gym facilities were in another tower which was impossible to locate. Most of the staff could speak English and in general, service was great although there were a few staff who were not that polite. The breakfast buffet was quite nice with a good selection of western and eastern foods, although the price was a bit expensive for China. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again and am interested in trying other hotels in this chain.

There was a mess up with the booking, I got a much lower-end room than booked and they did not read the comments section at all (everything was exactly the opposite). Went back to the reception desk, had to push a little, but got a good room eventually - supposedly the best type in the hotel, meaning an upgrade from the original. The staff, much like everywhere in China unless you're in a specifically western hotel, does not speak English. There was one girl at the front desk (don't remember the name anymore, think she was a manager of a sort), who spoke really good English and was super friendly and nice.

This hostel was the worst hostel I've ever staid in my life. I strongly recommend another hostel if u don't want to suffer Bed-bug bites. I've stayed here for 3days there was no one who could speak english. And also I saw some bugs on my bed, but I didn't care about it. I thought it was not harmful insect. But on the last night I woke up because of the itchiness and saw some huge bugs crawling around. I took video of those and I went out to tell the counter about the bugs. But the guy was sleeping and I couldn't speak Chinese so I just left after checking out. But 4days later I found some red dots on my body. And it started to spread out into my whole body. I went to the hospital and the doctor said it was an allergic reaction of an bed bug bite. And he said the symptoms shows 3~7 days after bitten. I've showed the video of the bugs I took from the hostel to the doctor, and the doctor said the bug was huge and if they are this big, there must be at least 100 of them in there. Anyway now my whole body is covered with red dots and the itchiness is killing me. I have paid a huge amount to the hospital, so I decided to visit the hostel again and ask for some compensation. When I explained(with my friend who can speak Chinese) and told them about my situation and I've showed the video to them. Their reaction was that there is no prof that the bed in the video is their's and they said that I have a responsibility for not telling about the bugs right away...!! And they said that they had no complains for 10 years. So the guest house said they can only give me a refund of the hostel.... It was ridiculous... how did nobody complain about the cleanliness. And why did they kept the bed bugs grow? I was expecting to hear sorry from them and get compensation for the amount of money I spent for my cure at least.... but they didn't say sorry at all! And they gave me 1/3 of the money I wasted and didn't show any regret... that made
