This is by far one of the best hotel that I have stayed throughout my stay in China. Room was clean and decent. Beds was comfy and basic toiletries were provided. Staff was exceptionally hospitable and caring, went all out to ensure that we had a pleasant stay. Apart from the commendable service, hotel staff has good command in English so there wasn't any communication barrier. Hot tea was offered upon arrival. The hotel is situated in the heart of Beijing and easy to locate. Directions to the hotel are clearly stated on the hotel website. 6 minuted walk to the nearest subway station and a mere 15 minutes walk to the famous Wangfujing shopping district. The set breakfast was decent. Guests are able to choose between western or oriental. Overall, it was a pleasant stay at this hotel and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beijing. Keep up the good work guys! :)

Charming authentic experience”
We were so happy with Hotel Hulu. The best part of the experience was the staff. Everyone was so friendly, spoke excellent English, and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enriching. The location is great and our room was clean, updated, safe, and comfortable. The room was small (expected) but there were little touches that made the experience more than we were expecting. Coming back to our hutong after heavy days of travel felt like home. We can’t thank you enough. Highly recommend!

The hotel is at an excellent location and metro station can be reached within walking distance. The heater is in good condition and functioned really well. The staff were super nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend it to everyone visiting Beijing who is looking for a great hotel at a reasonable price!

Great hospitality ”
The Hulu team took good care of us during our stay. They were fast and efficient in answering our questions, and helped us to buy tickets online so we can skip the queue at tourist attractions. Even when we were out of the hotel, they replied us promptly when we asked for recommendations and directions through WeChat. As a hospitality professional myself, I really appreciated their service and care the team have given us. For future travellers, do note that the location on Google maps is wrong and follow the one on Baidu instead. Thank you Hulu Courtyard Team!

The staff (Mr Cheng and another lady at the front desk) at hotel were very helpful and friendly. Asked for advice of where to go for sightseeing and what to eat around the hotel. The hotel’s breakfast of dumplings and pancakes were very good too. 👍

First Time In Beijing GO TO HULU HOTEL!”
It was our first time going to China and the staff at Hulu Hotel made both me and my group feel very accomdated. Even the location at first is confusing and might look sketch; you can’t judge a book by its cover. The hutong and bedroom was beautiful on the inside! They would help us with getting our way around the city, translating pick up locations for our Didi ( Chinese Uber/ Lyft), and also for going on adventures to the great wall ( HIGHLY recommend Jianshanling). The staff truly is some of the sweetest people in Beijing and really made our stay unforgettable!

Super nice straff and cute original Hutong ”
Very clean and cute rooms on the middle of an original Hutong. The directions are ok and the staff is super helpful in finding it if there are issues. Also in everything else. You can choose between Chinese and western breakfast. The Chinese is better and a good start into the day.

Comfortable and a 5-7 minute walk to the nearest subway station (Dongsi Station)”
Had a pretty comfortable 5-night stay in December 2018 with my parents. The staff were great— warm and hospitable, replied promptly to Wechat messages sent from outside when I couldn't locate a restaurant one of them recommended (found the restaurant in the end thanks to their help!), and really helped make the stay an enjoyable one. Location-wise— it's a 5-7 minute walk from the nearest train station (Dongsi station), which is close to a supermarket and a McDonald's. The interior design of my room and courtyard hotel is lovely as well, cosy and old-school with modern touches. While there isn't a heater (though the floor is heated!), the room is relatively well-insulated and we felt quite comfortable even amid the -11 degree winter weather of Beijing. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

The service was excellent, the staff were extremely helpful and kind, provided all assistance possible to make my stay more enjoyable. Room was very clean and comfortable. It was a traditional courtyard with rather simple and modern interior. I'd recommend travellers who stay here to take a morning stroll along the alley, it's a refreshing experience seeing how locals live as the area is not crowded with tourists. It's a 7-10 min walk from the metro exit, location is convenient. Would definitely recommend this place - I will be back again to stay!

Friendly and beautiful place!”
Once you get into this hotel you can feel in the air very positive atmosphere. Owners taking care of guest as much thay can. The place is well designed, you can feel cosy but elegant. Bedding is good quality and very clean. Entire area is very unique, characteristic for hutongs (you have to check! :)). I absolutely fell in love in this place and people working there!

Kind staff and good location ”
The staff were very helpful and kind even though they overbooked the room the first night and had to book another room for us at a nearby affiliate. They offered free breakfast as an apology and gave us a room upgrade. Room conditions were ok. Location was great. You can walk to all the most important tour places. And there were many great local restaurants and a big supermarket that was only a few blocks away. One other added bonus... there was an extensive catalog of movies on a thumb drive that was connected to the TV. So nice to have on the days when the weather wasn't good.

The hotel was lovely and cozy , and the staff were excellent! They would advise us where were the best places to visit and to have our meals, even printed out the maps for us incase we got lost! Impeccable Service! I would like to give my personal compliments to one staff Lily. She had been very attentive and helpful from the moment we checked in and till the day we checked out. Interesting hotel with great location ”
This courtyard hotel is situated in a quiet but safe neighborhood. It’s along a narrow alley/hutong, so taxi has to stop at the entrance to Yanyue Hutong instead of in front of the hotel. However, the distance from the entrance of the alley to the hotel is still very near though. There are many restaurants, shops and convenient stores along the main street that you will see when walking to Dengshikou station or Dongsi station. While we love the interior of the hotel, the family room is still small for 3 adults and 3 luggage. Perhaps it would be better for just 2 people and the extra bed for the 3rd person wasn’t very comfortable. The heated room was comfortable for the cold winter though. However, it would be good if the water heater in the toilet can be more stable. The staff here are very friendly and helpful as well. Breakfast was simple but nice and filling!

Quaint hotel in the hutongs ”
The hotel is in a hutong, the entrance to the hotel is very discrete, small sign with the hotel name. The room was large and had heated floors, bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good. Staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke very good English.
