China National Convention Center & Olympic Village hotels & accommodations

i was very satisfied with the stay in cncc grant hotel. the room was spacious and very clean. it was very quiet too. the bed and pillows were very comfortable. it was very convenient to access china national convention center where i had the conference. it was very close to the olympic park so i had a chance to visit it in the evening.

Good value for a 5-star hotel by the Olympic village near the northern part of Beijing (off 4th ring). The hotel is good choice for business traveler, but may not be the best location for tourists who want to do a lot of sight scenes. Never the less, if you are looking for a well appointed room at a good price, this may be the hotel for you.

This hotel is very nice, in a good location near the China National Convention Center and Olympic area. Plenty of hotels and shopping nearby, including a supermarket right across the street, chinese and western restaurants. I have no complaints about the hotel or service, but breakfast (expensive) was not included, and the dinner in the hotel restaurant was poor. I ord...

It was for a business stay, totaling 3 nights. Though the location is quite new, so unfamiliar to taxi drivers, but it can be easily located once you get the hang of it in a couple of taxi rides. The hotel is managed by Steigenberger so the standards are quite high in Chinese standard, and it seems they are still training their staffs to perform a 5 star service. The s...

The hotel is not really a hotel per say but a floor in an office building. Overall, the stay was quite good. The rooms are clean and maintained very well. The price is very well matched with the value received. The hotel is close to the main road(Anding Lu) and MRT, Bus stations and easy to locate. I did not try the breakfast or any other dining options. Wifi is pretty weak in the rooms but LAN connection is available and satisfactory. Nearby...

I booked a twin and room and was impressed by the size. The room was spacious and clean, the bathroom was also nice and clean. The language barrier was a bit of a challenge but google translate can help you get the message across. The location is great surrounded by coffe shops , restraunts and mini markets. All in all not a bad stay...

The hotel is close to Jiandemen subway station. For those who like to travel using subway, it's very convenient and very cheap. I use to travel to the conference venue by subway. Transportation Tips for Getting Around
Getting around Beijing is convenient, thanks to its extensive public transportation system. The subway is one of the most efficient ways to navigate the city, with multiple lines connecting key attractions, including the China National Convention Center and Olympic Village. Purchasing a transportation card can make travel even easier, allowing for seamless transfers between subway lines and buses.
Taxis are another popular option for getting around, providing a more direct route to your destination. Ride-hailing apps are widely used in Beijing, making it simple to request a ride at any time. However, it’s advisable to have your destination written in Chinese to ensure clear communication with the driver.
For those who prefer a more active mode of transportation, consider renting a bike to explore the area. Beijing has numerous bike lanes and rental stations, allowing visitors to enjoy a leisurely ride while taking in the sights. Cycling is a great way to experience the city at your own pace, especially in the scenic parks surrounding the Olympic Village.
Seasonal Festivals and Events to Experience
Beijing is vibrant with seasonal festivals and events that showcase the city’s rich culture and traditions. One of the most anticipated events is the Chinese New Year, celebrated with colorful parades, fireworks, and cultural performances. The festivities typically last for several days, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience traditional customs and local celebrations.
Another exciting event is the Beijing International Film Festival, which attracts filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts from around the world. This annual festival showcases a diverse selection of films, providing a platform for emerging talent and established filmmakers alike. Attending screenings and panel discussions can be an enriching experience for those interested in the arts.
Throughout the year, various cultural events and exhibitions take place in the area, including art shows, music festivals, and food fairs. These events often highlight local artists, musicians, and chefs, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the vibrant cultural scene of Beijing. Keep an eye on local listings to discover upcoming events during your stay.
Practical Travel Information for Visitors
Before visiting Beijing, it’s helpful to familiarize yourself with some essential travel information. The local currency is the Chinese Yuan (CNY), and it’s advisable to carry cash for small purchases, as not all vendors accept credit cards. ATMs are widely available throughout the city, making it easy to withdraw cash as needed.
When it comes to local customs, it’s important to be respectful of cultural practices. For example, when dining, it’s common to share dishes with others at the table, so don’t hesitate to try a bit of everything. Additionally, tipping is not customary in China, but rounding up the bill is appreciated in some establishments.
Safety is generally not a concern in Beijing, but it’s wise to stay aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas. Emergency services can be reached by dialing 110 for police or 120 for medical assistance. Having travel insurance can also provide peace of mind during your trip, ensuring you’re covered in case of unexpected situations.
