"My wife and I stayed at the DoubleTree Hilton for one night on a recent visit to Aqaba, we found the hotel very easily and car parking was straight forward. Check in was very efficient, we booked a king room with sea view which was of a good size. The bathroom was clean and stocked with all necessary toiletries and plenty of towels. Bottled water was provided and extra was available upon request, as was tea and coffee. We tried the Tree café in the afternoon and found the food and service to be of a good standard. The hotel is in the centre of Aqaba and nowhere is more than a few minutes’ walk away, in the evening we decided to use the King’s Grill restaurant, the menu was very good with plenty of different choices. We both chose a steak and were not disappointed with our choice, both cooked as requested. Check out was straight forward and we took the opportunity to join the Hilton Honors program at the same time. My only negative comment about our stay would be that the hotel permits smoking in the public areas, when there are a few smokers then it can be quite smoky especially at the check in and out desks. All in all we enjoyed our stay and will return in the near future and stay for a few days so that we can visit Petra and Wadi Rum."

"The hotel is very nice and clean, but a lot of hiccups made our stay quite annoying. Upon arrival we had to wait for more than an hour in the lobby to check in, we kept being told to wait "a few minutes more" while people who arrived after us were being checked in. The staff is very nice but not trained to 5 star service: ie they kept getting our orders at the restaurant wrong, or for example bringing the parmesan cheese to the table after we had finished our meal! We ended the stay on another issue: the valet brought us the wrong car and kept insisting that it was ours! We had to involve a manager. "

"Located in the city centre of Aqaba, approx. 10 mins by taxi from AQJ airport- the taxirate is JOD10, so you do NOT have to book your airporttaxi online at much inflated rates. You are actually within walking distance from everything. Aquavista is a cityhotel and does not have a beach or a pool, and the hotels homepage does not promise this service, so no need to complain about it. The public beach, which is free of charge, is walkable in max. 10 minutes. Some hotels offer to use their facilities, if you pay their rates. Royal Jordanian delayed my arrival by 24 hours and forgot my luggage in Amman, and if it wasnt for Ms Monas help I would probably not have received it at all. So I have to extend my warmest thanks to my superhero, Ms Mona :-) My room was quite large and had a balcony - no furniture, but quite large balcony. Comfy and very firm doublebed, comfy pillows. Big fridge, kettle tea/coffee changed almost daily. Aircon, incl. heating in the wintermonths. Telly incl. english "
