Aqaba hotels & places to stay

It’s a great place to stay if you’re in Aqaba to enjoy snorkeling or diving. I couldn’t see any reason to go into the city itself unless it was for an expensive meal out, airport, or crossover to Israel. South Beach and Bedouin Garden were perfect for my first three days in Jordan! Good if always the same breakfast of fried eggs, sliced tomatoes/cucumbers, pita bread and hummus, coffee and tea. Included and served with a smile. Great choices for lunch & dinner including fresh grilled fish on the bbq. Dive stuff helpful and friendly, get Hosein to take you to Japanese Gardens – 10 minute walk – and the sunken Turkish ship. Check out the sunset terrace up top, hookah lounge, other Bedouin lounges, and get into the pool. Can’t say enough about this place, even if all is a little…rustic? Rickety? The A/C worked fine in Rm 3, anyhow, and I found it tough to leave to hit the Jordan hotspots.

We have enjoyed staying at Golden Tulip Aqaba Hotel, the staff was professional and tried to assist us with all our requests on our Business Trip. The wifi signal is strong, the rooms are spacious and the breakfast has all the options for a simple morning meal (even an egg station with a guy who makes custom made fried eggs for you). The coolest thing is the talking parrot at the reception who lets you pet him/her :D :D :D very funny! I would go back anytime.

This place is near to the beach (Japanese Garden, Gorgon I , Gorgon II, Seven Sisters and The Tank - http://www.aqabasanchor.com/#!divesitesinaqaba/c1z4z ), where you can sunbathe, snorkel or dive. There is also diving club so you can do some fun diving without any certification or you can make some PADI course or just use their diving service. The restaurant of the resort is nice and not expensive. The hotel is far away from Aqaba city, to reach it you can take a taxi or some local shuttle. The all staff is very helpful from the reception - Roni, via everyone till the manager - Marwan. If you are looking for some dive vacation I can recommend this hotel.

Radisson has kept the standard. It's one of the best properties in Aqaba ... Nice staff.. Good facilities. Areas of improvement can be on quality of food. Restaurant service - breakfast (out door seating) there was no one to attend, we have to personally go and take even the cutleries, salt n pepper, sugar ..etc. the heatwave club was closed but there was no information ... When were told That it opens by 11 -2 by front desk, we went @ 11:45... Someone told us that it will not open that day as there is no guests..😳

The Marina Plaza Hotel Tala Bay is a convenient stop over in Aqaba. It is located very close to the beach and has a great swimming pool and restaurant for families. We did not dive or book any trips but the front desk can take care of all of that for its guests. The rooms were a little out dated and semi-comfortable, but overall we felt the place was overpriced. However, Jordan is very expensive and we traveled there during a high season so we would stay again if we were passing through.

The owners and the staff are fantastic, they will go all the way to help you with whatever you need. They helped with arranging cheap transport to other places (like Wadi Rum,Petra....)· Beautiful big room, comfortable bed, super clean, perfect location.Many nearby grocery stores, including supermarkets, restaurants.Highly recommended!! I will most definitely rented every time I'm back to Aqaba, Jordan

We arrived early and were provided a room immediately. The room overlooked the Red Sea allowing us an absolutely beautiful view. The double room was small with a small shower and hard beds, but comfortable with a traditional interior. The staff of the hotel were very accommodating and helpful; however, the internet connection was very bad. It is located in the heart of Aqaba within walking distance to everything. We found the Captain's Restaurant that is linked to the hotel to be not as good as described and very busy. Overall, an excellent stay. Breakfast was provided, but we were there during a high traffic season and the area where the breakfast was served was very crowded with food running our often.

great hotel in aqaba. nice amenities in room (beautiful bath/bedroom) overlooking red sea and aqaba beach. spectacular pool complex very nice/modern. wish the hot tub/jacuzzi were warmer though. excellent base for travel to wadi rum, also easy access to all red sea dive sites. hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, they arranged dive package for me with little effort.

This hotel has best location in Aqaba. We were just arrival sunset time and there are beautiful sunset in Aqaba bay!!! We were just run to beach area to spend sunset time even we didn't check in yet, hotel workers smiled and let us do it. It was amazing time to see such a beautiful sunset. Hotel is very nice quality service and setups. We had very nice guide and car from the hotel at night for dinner and shopping. Guide took us to very local shopping area and try to find very price and quality for our request. We were looking for local clothing. Guide took us to best place to buy anything, it was lots of fun night shopping. We were in club floor, so we can have nice drink at evening and breakfast in the morning. Breakfast is very nice in lobby floor restaurant as well. Specially there is some local meal in the lobby restaurant in the morning. Club floor is more basic and western style meal only but very comfortable and quiet. Highly recommended this hotel in Aqaba.

We chose the hotel according good reviews from others and did not regret of the choice. Somebody may prefer bigger hotel but for those who are not against B&B concept with corresponding reasonable cost this place is definitely best choice in area. The hotel is located on the South Beach so you have to use either your car or taxi to get there. The nearest beach is public so it's getting crowded at weekends and it's around 1 km downhill so be prepared to climb up a little on your way back. If you'll have a car like we had then your choice of beaches is much wider. You can choose between 2 public beaches and at least 4 private beaches. The costs for private ones are differs much however. The Royal Diving Club will cost you 15 JD per person, Tala Bay will cost 20 JD per person, and North Beach is more expensive even so we did not try to go there at all. At the end we did try private beach which was recommended by our hotel general manager and were completely satisfied with it. There was not so much sealife there but coral gardens were the best I saw in the Read Sea. Hotel facilities includes car parking, quite big pool with 3m depth and some sunbeds. Our room was not so big but just enough for us to feel ourselves comfortable. The only drawback was first night which was not so good because we spent it in another room due to the full hotel booking. All the staff members were very friendly, polite and helpful. The breakfasts were quite basic which is common in Jordan but other meals which we opted for were good and worth saving time and not going to elsewhere. Also do not forget that you'll get diving center facilities as an extra option to the hotel itself. You can rent equipment and have diving courses also. We are not divers but like snorkeling and we were glad that we could rent wetsuits because water temperature was not so comfortable. We would definitely stay again next time. I would especially thank Abdullah for all the advices he gave us.

The people who own this place are really very friendly people and the location is good as well, you can walk up to the beach in about 10 minutes. There are also several diving places in the same street. The thing which shocked us the most is that they made a new pool but not for swimming...... They plan to put dolphins in the pool later this year.... It broke our heart to hear that.... Dolphins don't belong in a small pool, they need their natural environment..... We were glad the dolphins weren't already in the pool because otherwise we would have left immediately.... Besides the cruelty of putting dolphins in a pool, we didn't get any new towels for days which would have been nice. Eventually we were able to borrow some towels for the beach tough. We stayed for 5 days and it would have been okay if they would have emptied our trashcan during our stay. The kitchen is very small and the stove was broken for 50% so it was hard to cook there. Nice views from the apartment.

The hotel is far from Aqaba city center (about 15-20 min by car) so it's good for stay for people looking in quite place and near sea, also it contains 3 swimming pools, one of them was closed while I'm there, breakfast is good, workers also nice and friendly, room clean, best thing you can find in room is the shower :) price not high and not cheap, in all it's good and i give it 7 over 10

Generally a Good stay. Did not negotiate the price for the dives and found out later that other people were diving with them for much cheaper. Also got over charged on the refresher dive. Quality of equipment was ok but maintenance could have been better. Hotel is a little far back from the sea and does not have any food available for lunch or dinner. Rooms are top quality and have fridges. Bathrooms have toiletries. No shops for food nearby so stock up with food and water in Aqaba on your way over. Taxi to resort from Aqaba is 5JD don't let anyone charge you more!

This hotel is extremely popular so can be very busy and you may have to wait for front desk service. We stayed a week which we we were told was a bit unusual. Jordanians tend to stay a few days as do tourists looking for a beach and trips to Wadi-Rum & Petra. (1 hour & 2 hours away respectively) Bank holiday weekends are surprisingly busy considering Easter for example is s Christian holiday in this Muslim country! - But they party no matter what the holiday is, get a high floor and don't think of an early night before midnight! I visited lots of hotels in Aqaba as part of our holiday (for meals etc) - MyHotel is the best value for money place- no doubt - if I went back I would go here (book early & get that high floor room!)

My wife and I stayed at the DoubleTree Hilton for one night on a recent visit to Aqaba, we found the hotel very easily and car parking was straight forward. Check in was very efficient, we booked a king room with sea view which was of a good size. The bathroom was clean and stocked with all necessary toiletries and plenty of towels. Bottled water was provided and extra was available upon request, as was tea and coffee. We tried the Tree café in the afternoon and found the food and service to be of a good standard. The hotel is in the centre of Aqaba and nowhere is more than a few minutes’ walk away, in the evening we decided to use the King’s Grill restaurant, the menu was very good with plenty of different choices. We both chose a steak and were not disappointed with our choice, both cooked as requested. Check out was straight forward and we took the opportunity to join the Hilton Honors program at the same time. My only negative comment about our stay would be that the hotel permits smoking in the public areas, when there are a few smokers then it can be quite smoky especially at the check in and out desks. All in all we enjoyed our stay and will return in the near future and stay for a few days so that we can visit Petra and Wadi Rum.

Enjoyed our stay at the Cedar. Counter staff very helpful and friendly. Gave us good recommendation to use the basic restaurant a coule of doors down the road (probably best to sit upstairs esp families). Superior room was quite nice although no real Windows. Air con worked fine. Breakfast disappointing and would be much better if they had cereal (cornflakes) and perhaps even scrambled eggs instead of the ubiquitous hard boiled eggs you find everywhere in Jordan. A nice hotel to stay at in an good area of Aqaba.
