"This hotel was great. Super calm and very nice area to relax for a whole day if you want. - Strong wifi - Cold AC in rooms - Shower was nice and warm Overlooking the Mekong River, so peaceful and relaxing. A bit far from the town center but owner has bikes for rent which helps. The road in Champasak is paved and flat so very easy to bike around. Would definitely recommend staying here. We really enjoyed our stay."

"We were on our way on our motorcycle to the 4000 islands. Drove past a advertising board of The River Resort in Champasak and we thought we check it out. We booked the two day package as a consequence we didn't get to the Islands. From the lovely check in staff to the lady picking up the leaves, everyone treated us like royalty. The rooms are first class so is the gardens and the two stunning infinitely pools. We went on their sunset river cruise which included wine and canapés. Our hostess was very charming and watching the sun set over the mountain range was sensational. Breakfast was adequate though a lityle more Thai/Lao food would have made my wifes day. As we live in Thailand we are only 110 kms from The River Resort so we will be back before long for sure. Spoil yourself and stay there!! "

"This place was way beyond our expectations! It should be a 5 star hotel! I can’t express how excited we were when we arrived and it looks way better in person then in photos. Staff was friendly, very helpful and informative to the area. I know next time we visit this location will be booked and well deserved. The views from the balcony were too beautiful to describe and the villa next door outstanding. The staff made every accommodations we needed for rides and transportation very easy and high classed! This place will not disappoint you at all! "

"We stayed here 9 days, we could have stayed here 9 years! We loved this place so much. It is in one of the most beautiful places on earth! It is very easy to get here from anywhere in town. Just get a metered taxi avoid tuk tuk at all cost. If you have a hard time finding a metered taxi call the hotel and have them arrange your transportation. They might be able to pick you up. What makes this place also so amazing is the food! You can order from the english menu or ask them to see the Laos menu. I eat from both and I loved it. My girlfriend took the cooking class and she really liked it. I loved swimming in the river and taking the kayak to the small island in the middle of the river. I really loved it here. The family was so nice! They helped us so much. I am sad that this hotel is so far from my country I fear I might never see them again. There is an ancient temple from the Khmer Empire very close to this hotel if you need another reason to go. "

"This hotel was our favourite by far after a two-week trip in Laos. Ronald the manager was incredibly helpful and professional and helped us on numerous occasions with tricky transportation problems. He runs this hotel de charme with such efficiency and positive, calm energy. The staff is so attentive and friendly. The design of the modern duplex rooms is stunning, the space and decor is elegant and colourful, marrying the old existing colonial building with modern design in an effortless manner. The delicious wood fired pizza with a nice (house wine ) French Cabernet Sauvignon was a real treat after 10 days of rice and noodles! The Laotian menu is delicious too. Gardens were gorgeous and you cannot beat watching the sunset and sunrise on their terrace overlooking the Mekong. A fabulous stay!"

"I spent two nights in the guesthouse, that is very conveniently located (2 mins from tourist office and atms) and is a sort of meeting point for travelers. The owner is extremely helpful, he arranges boats to islands, buses, changes money, shares information and most of all he keeps a warm smile even when very busy. All the family is welcoming. There is a very small market with cold drinks, and they offer also simple breakfasts and motorbike rental. I stay in two different rooms. The rooms on the first floor in the main building are spacious, but beds are rock-hard and you’ll hear the noises from ground floor and street. Also, the shared toilet are very basic and not that clean. there are better rooms for cheaper in other hotels. Instead, the rooms in the detached building are really good value, very clean, comfortable bed, hot shower, privacy. All in all I recommend this place for the welcoming attitude of the owners and to meet other travelers."

"great stay. amidst pure nature. it's like a serene hideaway that's nestled in the middle of green fresh rice field. everything is unpretentious. buffaloes are walking to work at dawn. no television and refrigerator so it's a disconnection from the world we are used to. nice stay but a bit too many insects and lizards, which really can't help. bring a good book with you. you will have plenty of time. very far from any attraction in champasak town. i think the hotel should arrange the transportation to get there from the main road. we were a bit lost and didn't know how to get there.
