Where to stay in Hunter Valley
Hunter Valley hotels & accommodations
This hotel is located in Hunter Valley. The room is surrounded by the trees, so you can enjoy fresh air and nice view when you stay in the hotel. The front staff is friendly, she help us to do early check in as when we reach the hotel is at 10 am and the weather is very hot, so lucky we managed to check around 12 pm. We travel to Hunter Valley because we have book a Ho...
As a family of 4 with 2 children ( aged 6 and 8) this was a great place to stay, eat and relax in between visiting the Hunter Valley Gardens, wineries for lunch and afternoon tea and The Hunter Valley Zoo. The rooms had everything we needed, the pool was a hit with the kids and the food at the Bistro for both Dinner and Breakfast was beautiful !! We will be back !
Signifies everything the Hunter Valley has to offer!!!
This hotel has great rooms at a good price and a terrific family restaurant with exceptional food also with a price range including kids meals. We were 3 people looking at a cost effective short break and this hotel filled the bill. Good location to Hunter Valley, Morpeth Village and Maitland historical areas.
in the 2 days we spent, there were 2 different receptionists - both of them were superbly friendly and professional. They made me feel like we were the only guests - i will return again simply because of them! Although the accomodation and everything the village had to offer pleasantly met my expectations and i will certainly return, all facilities are pretty standard...
Nice set up close to key attractions in Hunter Valley. The 2 bedroom unit that I stayed in was clean and everything we needed was there. The person that I liaised with that arranged for my check in and out - Matt was also very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this accommodation to anyone that is interested to go to Hunter Valley for a quick getaway.
This Hotel is really convenient for us within the Region when we need to stay near the airport of the hospital and are not up to the drive further North into the Upper Hunter late at night. The Monte Pio staff are always friendly and accommodating with late arrivals and check ins. Rooms are lovely and quiet and it is great access to the New England Highway. Lovely v...
We were visiting Hunter Valley and as most would know, staying at the Hunter can be quite expensive. We found this motel to be value for money and only a 20min drive to Upper Hunter and 30-40min drive to Polkobin. It was clean, quiet and have an updated bathroom. I would stay here again if I am visiting the Hunter.
This is the only hotel i stayed in Hunter valley, but it is good enough for me to make my second trip with booking it if i visit hunter valley. Simply perfect. But please be reminded to have your car or a rental one in hunter valley, also in Elan. Don't think you can walk like in the city.
One of the best stocked serviced apartments I have EVER stayed in. The size of the room was great, the view gorgeous and the breakfast hamper beyond generous. Will be staying here again next time we venture to the Hunter Valley that's for sure.
Great little getaway, we often visit the hunter and Beltana is our first choice. Fantastic host and we will return :)
Only stayed here for one night I fortunately as we were there for a wedding, would have loved to stay an extra night as we didn’t really get to use all the facilities or walk around the grounds. Check in was easy and smooth, our room was very clean, bed comfy, my only complaint would be that when having a shower water does come out from the glass doors and onto the flo...
We only had one night away in the Hunter and Nightingale was perfect for us. The accommodation was quite comfortable and the shower was excellent. The setting is peaceful and relaxing. There was lots of birdlife and the view to the Brokenback Range was stunning. Broke is a quiet area with a 10 minute drive to Pokolbin.
Beautifully appointed private boathouses overlooking a lake full of water Lillies with water hens and cicadas serenading you to sleep. We sadly didn’t eat a meal at The restaurant but the afternoon snack we ordered on arrival of local cheese, homemade dukkah and flatbreads were totally delicious. A little piece of paradise which I would thoroughly recommend to anyone v...
My two children and I enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing mini break at Starline Alpacas Farmstay. The location is perfect - very close to the best Hunter Valley vineyards yet tranquil and quiet. The kids adored the alpacas and many other animals. The most immaculately clean rooms I have ever seen! Very friendly staff we would definitely visit again
The staffs are very friendly and you can basically request and ask for anything you want. Be it the building and architecture are not a modernized, the room are considered clean and we had a good two night stay. The location is perfect if you were to go to hunter valley wineries. It is in the town with walking distance to restaurants and supermarkets. While 10 mins dri...
Given that I was paying a relatively low price compared to other Hunter Valley resorts, I was pleasantly surprised at the accommodation. I would not call it 4 star Hotel no, but as a very well endowed "motor inn" then its up there with the best. I read a lot of negative reports about the place from those expecting a whole lot better ... but again putting everything int...
Really lovely service - would stay here again as accommodation was great and location was extremely convenient! Everything is just a short drive away! I thought the food at the restaurant and the cooked breakfast option was a little expensive. Was also a bit disappointed as the pond nearby didn't have much going for it. The nearby vineyard was nice to stroll in, and w...
Only 20 min drive from the main wineries of the area. We really liked our stay: the free parking, the staff, the room, free mini bar and the pool. There is also a restaurant located within 2 minute walk which offers good food. Great of you plan on visiting the Hunter valley area.
The reason for booking this hotel was because of the very pretty pictures that we had viewed online as well as the promise of our very kangaroo at our doorstep. So imagine our delight when we were not only blown away by the beauty that our room was in the midst of but a kangaroo waiting for us outside our room. The room was amazing with beautiful decor and we felt lik...
We went there for a family celebration and the cottages enabled us to be together without trying to all jam into a small hotel room when we wanted to all be together. Relaxation was an added bonus from these cottages and many of our group enjoyed the outdoor spas or just relaxed in front of the fire. The breakfast basket was full of choice and catered to all the varied...
Bronte is in historic Morpeth and is a great base for exploring the Hunter vi eyears and making a day trip to the beaches of Port Stephens.
This place was really great. Stayed for two nights with our two young daughters. They loved the pool and hot tub. We lived the huge two level, two bedroom apartment facing the green. The restaurant was reasonably priced and accommodating when I didn't like the bottle of wine I bought. I doubt I'll ever go back to Hunter Valley as we live in the US, but this would be my...
the proprietor, damien, of this establishment is one of the kindest gentlemen you can find at a roadside motel. he welcomed our family of four and made us feel right at home. the hunter valley motel provides excellent value for money-our family of five obtained two rooms for a total of aud. the hotel is located off the main road, right in the heart of the hunter val...
We travelled to Hunter Valley to see the winter festival. We have 2 families with 4 kids under the age of 3 years old. The 3 bedrooms is perfect for us with adequate space. The only down side is about 30 minutes drive to hunter valley garden, which we didn't mind travel. Perfect apartments for families to have a little weekend away.
Second time we've stayed at Peden's Pub. Everything we needed for a wonderful stay in The Hunter Valley. The pub has excellent food, though they do charge appropriately for the quality. The room had air conditioning (heater and cooler), the beds were comfortable, the shared washrooms clean and not crowded. There's a large lounge room, a sink, fridge, kettle, mugs, cups...
There must be some newly renovated rooms (as advertised on their website) and quite a few rooms still in serious need of renovation/restoration. If you pull the short straw and end up in one of the really old rooms you may be quite disappointed with the facilities. The good news is that the hotel is currently being renovated so presumably there will eventually be consi...
Cheap places to stay in Hunter Valley
We really enjoyed our one night stay here, comfortable bed, big rooms with the old pressed tin ceilings, and amazing value for money compared to the rest of the Hunter Valley accommodation.
The hotel itself was built on heritage grounds, feels as though I'm living on history itself. Also, the food at the pub downstairs are one of the best in the area - they open till late which was another plus point. Staff were extremely helpful in directions and recommendations and the hotel is located right smack in town and a short drive from Hunter Valley. *Request...

Came for one night and stayed for two! Accommodation has been recently redecorated. Lovely clean room. Clean sheets and LARGE towels. TV in room. Shared bathroom facilities. Great little hotel with clean big confortable rooms. Best location with all amenities within short walking distance. Also secure pte parking. Any questions about how to go about in hunter valley just talk to the owner and you will be provided with the best options.
The room was basic but had everything we needed for 1 night. Great hot water and shower pressure, we needed twin beds which we got. Everything was spotless and we even got fresh milk, not uht. We came up for a last minute concert in the hunter and took a Rover coach in from down the road. The main road was a bit noisy but we had asked for a quiet room and got one furt...
We would stay here again, the team at the facility were all excellent, really very difficult to fault, it was clean, well located. A minor observation that I noticed in Room 13, the bathroom window lock was unusable, because the new tiles are laid too close to the security groove. A potential safety issue. The restaurant food was reasonably priced, and well served....

Was looking for somewhere to stay on a budget and this place did the job. I stayed in a Budget Cabin - the bed was comfortable, bathroom clean and kitchen adequate for one person. The park was nice and quiet on Saturday night and heater worked very well with sub zero temperatures around the Hunter. A good budget place to stay with a short drive to the wineries and Po...

We stayed here as the bus for a concert in the Hunter Valley stops right out the front. Check in was easy. The room looks like they have tried to give it a make over with furnishings but the room itself is very tired, walls with cracks, marks, rust on fittings, noisy air con and the bathroom was in a real need of some maintenance. It was ok for an overnight stay when h...
Quiet location near the town. Clean hotel.
It wasn't our first choice but still please with the overall experience. Located along New England Highway makes it easy for you to travel up to either Upper or Lower Hunter Valley.

Amazing! This was our best stay in Australia
Very strategic location, right infront of main road, nearby shopping complex for conveniences and food.

This was most positive surprice on our trip to Australia, this hidden gem was welcoming us with personal touch i.e. Hunter Valley relax feeling with very beatifull decoration a functional arangement. Fell in love with this kind of boutique style of hotels and will definitely recomment this to our friends too. Additional plus was all the info receptionist was able to t...
I booked this accommodation. It really knowing where it was located, when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at how central it was and how close it was to one of purr favourite vineyards. I would recommend marbles to anyone wanting to be close to the action yet far away from the hotel crowds. Yvette looked after us and she was absolutely lovely. You will not be di...

Super quiet location away from the usual Cessnock/Pokolbin hotels. Room are clean and comfy, and the surrounding garden in perfect for sharing a bottle of wine in the afternoon. Bring your swimmers if its hot, they have a pool. Breakfast in the morning is fresh, delicious and much better than most of the breakfasts and cafes in the area.

Perfect place to relax after a day of wine tasting. It is a little bit of a distance to the majority of the vineyards in the area however the surroundings more than make up for this. We were able to watch Kangaroos and Hot Air Balloons rise up over the valley from our bed.
Friendly reception, very spacious cottage, and all amenities are supplied to make a comfortable stay. The sofa bed was slightly uncomfortable to sit on as the cushions were a bit worn but we didn't do too much sitting around. Twin Trees makes for an excellent base to enjoy visiting the Hunter Valley.
Really well located cabin / campus type lodging in the heart of Hunter Valley, great for doing a self-guided winery tour! Rooms are large and clean, and we had loads of kangaroos hopping around outside our cabin! Staff were great.
The hotel is located on a secluded hill with great views if the hunter valley region. Only 6 rooms are available. It can be scary at night though but I love the peaceful atmosphere with nature. Breakfast is packed nicely in the fridge and all electrical appliances available in the room to make a fantastic breakfast.
Chris runs a fantastic place. It's a wonderful home set up on the hill with a beautiful view across the valley. Room was spacious and comfortable. The major wineries are within easy reach but with the B&B being away from the usual tourist route it's very peaceful an quiet. We would be happy to stay there again next time we are in the Hunter Valley.
Our stay was quite pleasant, we will always be coming back here to stay when visiting the Hunter. The owner, Michael, was very friendly and helpful. The location was really good as it is on the main road (Broke Road) but it is 400m off it in a massive property. It is quite close to Harrigans Pub as well.
we were arriving very late on that day, thankfully they left the key in the villa for us. we got into the place without any problem. every villa is individual, has its own drive way. it was really quite and peaceful at the night, and the back deck is a brilliant spot to over view the whole vineyard, so gorgeous there! moreover, we got a free breakfast pack, which inc...
We all thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay.
The location is secluded with no sight of restaurant and convenient store. However, the were ample and clean cooking facility in the cottage. the cottage were quite a distant from each other and there were great privacy. However, the hut could not be locked when we retire in the nite which we were not used to it. Upon the booking to the hotel, Paul the owner emailed...
We stayed at The Grange on Hermitage for three nights and were extremely happy with our stay. We stayed in one of the rooms attached to the main house. The continental breakfast was delicious, and was more...
Very enjoyable, lovely hosts, clean, spacious and comfortable. All the comforts were provided. Beautiful gardens and setting. Delicious breakfasts and a lovely country retreat. Would recommend it to couples who want to get away and relax and tour the Hunter Valley, enjoy great wines and excellent restaurants. Visit to the Hunter Valley Gardens recommended. Would defin...
The artist cottage is a wonderful place in Hunter Valley to stay in. Close to vineyards, with good-sized and well-appointed rooms, beautiful scenery around. The hosts were gracious and friendly, yet gave us privacy as well. Thumbs up!
The owner, Ms Tina is very warm, friendly and helpful in ensuring that we settled in without any problems. She make sure that we are kept warm by providing us with sufficient wood for the fire place.
Back to my favourite Hunter Valley hideaway, this time with my mother. I love it here, the cottages are great, the location beautiful and its just so relaxing.
Amazing! This was our best stay in Australia

This is a lovely getaway for couples or groups without kids. It's not a place for young children especially at wine tastings.
Great natural area with all the grape farm and wines factory, chocolate factory and cheese factory.
Very pretty place with alot to offer. A great place for families but more so for older kids, couples as well as young singles.
It's a place with great nature! Look up into the skt at night and you can see lots of stars which you won't be able to see in any city.
UNBELIEVABLE AREA STEEPED IN HISTORY IN REGARD TO VINICULTURE BEST WINES FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO BE FOUND IN THE HUNTER VALLEY
Hunter Valley vineyards are the main attractions to me, and wine lovers should love this place. As each vineyard has its own unique characteristics and style for its wine, time is never enough to shortlist and visit these vineyards and enjoy the wines with relevant food paring.
From the magazine the place was nicely describe, but in actual fact i think i would not come back to this city any more.
Nice scenery, good wine and food. A perfect place for a 3 days 2 nights or even longer for a romantic and relaxing getaway.
What a facsinating place. The history is everywhere & we were so lucky to have a Miners Union friend to show us around.
We have been there many times but have had rain at every visit! I guess that's why it is so green. It is a relaxing place for foodies, wine buffs and sometimes the occasional concert.
If you have more time in Sydney, I strongly recommend you to do a day trip to Hunter Valley. When you are there, you have to try the Hot Air Balloon Experience with Champagne Breakfast and of course all the wine tasting and Potters Beer tasting too.
Its always been hub for quality Australian wine . Even better now. Now festivals and new tourism attractions ( eg Great North Road Wollombi plus Hunter Valley Gardens and boutique beer makers ( do a tasting at Potters) and chocolate making, broaden the attractions for a short fun stay.
The Hunter Valley has everything on offer, beaches, lake, bay, wineries etc. Good climate and great local produce, where else would you want to go?
There are two parts to the Hunter Valley: The Upper Hunter, which is where you can find coal mines, and the Lower Hunter where you have all the different wine estates.
We missed out wine tasting as everywhere are closed at 5pm. However there quite number of nice restaurant for you to have a lovely dinner.
The Hunter Valley is one of Australia's premium wine growing regions, and has hundreds of small wineries as well as several internationally recognised names, like Tyrrells, McWilliams, Wyndham Estate and De Bortoli.
Nice, relaxing and plenty of wineries to visit. Nice area to getaway from the city and enjoy the countryside for some relaxation and wine testing.
Do visit wineries for informative introductions to wines. Hunter Valley Gardens is huge and nice. But do watch out for the time that u r goin to visit as there r not much flowers to see during winter time.
For family , it can be a time of relaxing, visiting chocolate and cheese makers. For adults, the winery and great restaurant are main attractions.
A beautiful area bursting with a variety of wineries. Worth having a drive through and stopping to sample the local wine, cheese, olives and more!
I went to Hunter Valley in Winter. Not a very good choice. The vineyards are barren and the gardens have little flower.
