Where to stay in Koh Samui
Koh Samui hotels & accommodations

For my opinion- it’s the best hotel in Koh Samui. Staff were very nice. Location super central. The vouchers’s idea was very nice. Liked to chill on the pool-floor. Recommend to ask a room on a high floor because the hotel stands in a shopping mall and the lowest rooms are close to the parking plot. Everything was great and for sure will be back to COSI again on my nex...

The hotel grounds are very large. Our bungalow was high up on the hill and it was quite a trek to the beach. We did not mind this as we had just spent a couple of days on Koh Tao where the bungalow was right on the beach. The water is much nicer (more clear) in Koh Tao so we were fine with spending less money at our hotel in Koh Samui even if it meant we were furthe...

Absolute heaven from beginning to end! We had booked to stay in a second floor, balcony jacuzzi room, but were informed upon arrival that we had been upgraded to a top floor ocean view jacuzzi room. The wonderful staff informed us they always try to upgrade where possible. The room was both rustic and luxurious and every need had been considered- the insect repellent ...

Me and my wife had our Honeymoon in Koh Samui and stayed in this hotel in July 2019 for 9 nights. We experienced a very warm welcoming greeting as soon as we arrived in reception. Everything about the hotel was so beautiful, the location, decor, the restaurant and the room (we stayed in the beachfront balcony pool suite). The staff were always attentive and polite. Y...

I stayed at a Deluxe Sea View room which overlooks the restaurant and pool. The room is great! Very well furnished and spacious. Everything is very new which gave an elegant feeling. The best part of a hotel in Koh Samui is the facilities to enjoy the beach, to relax and to enjoy the time in the hotel. I love the infinity pool which overlooks the ocean. There is also...

I've stayed in Koh Samui many times and have driven by the Peace Resort a lot, but I've never stayed there until this trip. Now I realize that was a mistake. This is a really great little spot that I'm glad I finally discovered. The staff are all friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and the whole place has a really nice, laid-back feel. It's like Koh Samui used to...

A wonderful start to our island holiday on Koh Samui. Hotel is situated just outside of Lamai on the northern side of the beach. Wonderful location for a totally chilled few days. We stayed in a Pool View room which still had a sea view. Breakfast was amazing with poached eggs and salmon being on the menu. A wonderful start to our island holiday on Koh Samui - we will ...

i wanted to take my girlfriend on a holiday that would take her breath away. although i did keep the hotel a surprise (and may have even played it down on the way there!) the entire experience upon arrival; the location, hotel grounds, service, private beach/bay, and finally the awe inspiring villa itself ended up bringing her to tears of joy and gratitude - mission ac...

I was looking for a resort in Koh Samui and was planning on going for a fancy 5 start but couldn’t help but notice the high rating for the Buri Rasa even though it was only a 4 star so decided to book and give it a try. We booked a deluxe garden court with dip pool. The stay was flawless. Comfortable bed, spacious room and the dip pool is pretty decent. The resort is ...

Crystal Bay Yacht Club is located on a beautiful part of the beach in Koh Samui. The bungalows are a great size and clean. The shower is separated from the rest of the bathroom by a divider so you don't have the typical Asian wet bathroom floor. The restaurant is a little pricy for Koh Samui, but really well priced for a resort. Restaurant staff are very friendly, swit...

We loved here everything, we went to try other hotel (was planned before we arrived to Koh samui) and we loved Casa de mar so much that we came back again and stayed there all vacation in koh samui! It's amazing! The food, the place, the drinks, the team, the happy hours (!!!) qnd the seafood and grill bufet(!!) amazing!! Thank you!

It was an excellent and a very memorable experience staying in Conrad Koh Samui. The location is quite remote, but the view there and their beach will worth everything. It would be best to rent a car and drive. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Very smooth check-in with a very detailed introduction of the resort. Housekeeping is very efficient too. You go outside ...

We had a fantastic week in koh samui largely due to thai beach resort. While the rooms are simple, they are very comfortable and have everything you might need, including air con, beach towels toiletries. The pool is perfect, with massage available by the pool, and direct access to a beach area with loungers and a dedicated swim area. Staff are amazing and will bring d...

We stayed in Koh Samui to relax on the beach after a stressful and exhausting time in Siem Reap and Chiang Mai. We loved the beach and the comfortable room, however we were a little put off by the whole Lamai area. It was full of European tourists and cheesy bars which were not our style. We found some good places to eat in town but were generally tired of the whole ar...

We stayed at three different hotels during our short week on Koh Samui and this was the preferred hotel of the three. We stayed in the beachfront room and moved to the garden room which it turned out was somewhat smaller but also quieter and more private than the beachfront room. As many of these resorts, checkout involved waiting five minutes for the maid to check to ...

I consider this hotel to be the best hotel in Koh Samui. I had a good value for the money paid and all other services provided were perfect. The breakfast we had was one of the best that we had in Thailand and the bar was very comfortable specially with the beds idea.

Chaba Samui Hotel as an amazing location. Located in the middle of Chaweng Beach, the beach front is one of the best (and I did walk all the way to both ends of the beach). Not too close to city center, not too much South where the beach is getting rocky and sand rarefies. The nightlife is not too present, not too much noise if you are in the Ocean Building. The hotel ...

It is an excellent experience for me to stay in Pavilion Samui Boutique Resort. All the staff is very helpful, especially the manager in frontdesk. They helped me to make fleet reservation, introducing the nice place in Koh Samui, provide warm welcome to us. Besides, it is very thoughtful that they sent notification to every guest that a wedding will be held in the ...

I loved my stay at the Montien House Hotel. The hours I spent reading hotel reviews online certainly paid off with this choice. We stayed in a one bedroom pool villa which I got for a great price by booking through Agoda. The hotel is in a prime location in the middle of Chaweng beach, close to restaurants, bars, shopping and pretty much anything you could ask for. The...

We stayed at the W-retreat for 7 nights on our honeymoon. This place is absolutely amazing, the staff are the most friendly, genuine people you could ever meet, they felt like family to us and we were so sad to leave. We really can't wait to get back to Koh Samui and stay at the W, we hired a scooter and drove around to the many other hotels in Koh Samui, this included...

We loved it here!! The staff was wonderful- very sweet and helpful. The location was beach front on a semi-private beach ( we were there during off-season so there were no crowds whatsoever. ) The room we stayed in was extremely comfortable and clean- we stayed in the pool access king room. Slippers, robes, water and fruit was provided upon arrival. AC worked great, TV...

One of our best stays in Koh Samui.. absolutely flawless, decent and courteous staff.. service was excellent, good breakfast and meals spread, Beautiful views of ocean and hill from the hotel room, infinity pool experience. Hotel provides complimentary shuttle service to all main locations in Samui but needs to increase the frequency. Will definitely recommend and sure...
Cheap places to stay in Koh Samui

such an awesome spot to stay Pim the owner is so lovely and accommodating she is willing to help you suss out transfers and offer advice as to how to get to place also arranging them for you too. she offers scooter hire to! and the food here is so good from the big English breakfast to the super cheap thai dishes all so delicious! also in a good location with probably ...

This place is really lovely but we went for the beaches and our first question to the manager on duty was where is the best beach, she replied Chewang, the beach we had just spent a half hour in a taxi leaving. The only beach within walking distance is not nice at all, she didn't offer any other options, we rented a scooter but the roads on Koh Samui are crazy, so we c...

Clean hostel. Good A/C in rooms and excellent showers. Friendly staff. Convenient location 5 mins from beach, near food market and health food shop, but away from party noise. Large chill out area but they could utilise it more to create social space. I would return here.

Amazing, clean, cold aircon, kind of close to samui airport and the main part of town, can rent scooter from hostel normal samui price, taxis charge way more, no taxi meter on samui! Very friendly korean guy when i checked in. He spoke good english and gave me lots of info and booked me a ferry for 300thb to go to ko phangyang for the next day. Definitely stay again, e...

I was there unfortunately during the storm and spent the majority of my time held up in my room waiting it out. The cleaning staff speak zero English, just Russian which makes communicating difficult. There's only one fan for the whole dorm bungalow so it doesn't reach everyone. The bed sheets were too small for the bed and kept coming lose all the time. Wi-Fi was ok b...

Nice and clean place where to stay. It's near Samui main road so you can easily travel around island, not so far from beach. Stuff is friendly and helpfull. Bed's are big and comfortable. It's a little difficult to find hostel. It's not on place where map show it is. More on south, on lights left ;)

It was a very friendly hostel. Clean and very comfortable beds. The owners were really nice and helpful. Arranged a scooter and my ticket back to Bangkok for me. The beach is 10 min walking distance and there are many nice places around for dinner. I definitely recommend to go to Janu - great food for little money!

Would fully recommend to anyone looking for a cheap and relaxing stay. Excellent value for money. Amazing location right on the beach. Lovely staff, great food and happy hour everyday from 5:30-7:30! Not much going on in the area in terms of a party scene but if you’re heading to Koh Samui, you probably already know that. Would stay again.

The place is clean and comfortable. However upon checking in, I discovered a bed bug and was pretty freaked out by it. The reception staff managed to changed me to another bed in the next room. Aircon hours unfortunately only start from 7pm. Overall, a good place for backpackers

If you are really on a budget, sleep really well, and do not mind traffic noise, this might be the place for you. If not, think again. The rooms are quite close to a stretch of the Ring Road, where the cars, trucks and motorcycles are flying, so consequently it is a very noisy area. The rooms are equipped with shabby quality sliding doors, and in the case of my room, ...

I had a wonderful 9-day stay at Nid's Bungalows. Nid and Alan are incredibly friendly and helpful as are the other staff. The place was so clean I felt I could eat off the floors in the bathroom. I rented a scooter and booked a car to drive me to the airport for my flight and both transactions were easy and reasonably priced. Breakfast (not included) was reasonable for...

This is the best experience I have had at a hostel in Thailand. The owner Champu is very helpful and incredibly nice. I checked in late in the evening, and she invited me to have dinner with her and her friend. The hostel itself is also about 30m from a very quiet beach. It is a great place to relax and take a break. The beds are new and comfy. The hostel itself is a ...

My first experience of a hostel and I found it quite private and antisocial but I guess that’s to be expected! P168 is very clean, has great WiFi and really nice, private roof terrace. Staff were really welcoming when I arrived. It’s at the quieter end of the strip in Koh Samui so about a 10-15 minute walk to the main bars.

Our stay at Samui star was without a doubt one of our highlights of Samui! The friendly owners helped us ring our previous hotel in Koh Tao to trace a important souvenir we left there... They arranged everything getting it delivered to us. We took advantage of the motorbike rental service as well as them giving us a map and detailed description of the best places to go...

I booked one bed in the dorm room for a bit over $10, ended up being the only person in that room! The entire place is CLEAN, modern, and well-maintained. Staff are super friendly! Tip: stay on the west side, it's hot before you turn on the AC, but much quieter than the east side which is by the street. There isn't much to eat nearby, but across the street you can find...

I have been here since the end of April and I have another 3 weeks to go. This is a great place to stay and very reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly without being intrusive and do their best to make your stay a good one I am staying in one of the basic bungalows which is fine for a solo traveller on a budget. They do have better rooms available if you wa...

We spent three weeks on Koh Samui - one week at three different hotels around the island. This was by far our favorite. It's beautiful and remote. But we still managed to walk to the main street and do food and essentials shopping no problem. We stayed in a one-bedroom house and it felt so spacious and not crowded by other vacationers and staff. We slept late every day...

Gilda, gave me a joining room beside her room, so i could literally her her breathe. So if you can hear breath every other noise is quite disturbing, including her thai workers gossip sessions. Also, there were multiple lists of rules placarded all over the room. Just not a very comfortable place to stay. Gilda was a nice gal.

We traveled to Koh Samui to celebrate our wedding with our closest family. We booked Impianas wedding package and had all correspondence over email. We arrived four days prior to the wedding day and had a few meetings with Impiana about wedding details. The staff at Impiana is amazing and was way over our expectations. We have never ever felt so welcomed and would real...

The staffs are friendly, foods are tasty. They do not have own beach but is easily assessible as the beach is just beside. The jacuzzi is nice, it will definitely be better if they can provide more shuttle as the taxi is expensive in samui. Great experience overall

We didn't want to leave our little piece of paradise at Prana. It is more beautiful in person than in the photos! Room was beautifully decorated, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed our balcony overlooking the pool. Very convenient shuttles to the Fisherman's Village and reliable van service. Breakfast buffet is excellent! With a variety of Western and Asian options -...

Bann Haad Ngam is the first place we stay in Koh Samui. This boutique is a little bit smaller than other big resort around Chaweng beach. And the infinity pool is not big either. But you can find the staff and facility is very special and adorable during your stay. For example, i didn't mention about my birthday, but the staff come to find me with a birthday cake and ...

We had a wonderful weeks stay at ora Beach, we had a pool villa which was one of the most spacious pool villas we have stayed in on Koh Samui. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice and good quality food. We stay on Koh Samu...

This hotel made my holiday in koh samui, the location was amazing, the beach around the hotel was amazing and the views were stunning, the hotel is nice and very clean with great staff and great food. The walk into town is 5 -10 mins along the beach and enjoyable. My room was comfortable and ok for me but lived on the beach area so no fuss. Breakfast was not bad and no...

A little bit far from the action. Mosquitoes are not THAT bad compared to most hotels in Koh Samui (they come in when housekeeping cleans the rooms). The hotel is sleepy and quiet so if you want to party it up a bit, Ark Bar (and hotel) is a few hundred meters up the beach. I might try staying there next time.

It was a great experience to stay at this hotel. Me and my wife were really delighted. The hotel was large, clean. The room was small, but you will find all required facilities there. The dining experience was really superb. There were lots of items and the food was tasty. The hotel has it's own beach and there is guard always present there. The swimming pool was also l...

The search for a place in Koh Samui should begin & END with Sea Dance. This resort is gorgeous, quaint & intimate & set away from some of the chaos of the island. Additionally, the rooms are TOO cool. You have your own 'round', stand-alone villa with an outdoor shower & toilet. Beyond that, the service is outstanding. The staff immediately learns your name & goes above...

I love this hotel, not only the helpful and friendly staff, but also the environment and the atmosphere. The decoration of the hotel make you feel like living in your own home. The lovely swimming pool and the beach let you feel so relaxing. If I visit Koh Samui again, I am sure I will stay in this hotel again. I stronly recommend this hotel to those who is looking fo...

We stayed here for our honeymoon, a little bit worry about things we have read we wre positive surprised from the hotel. The room actually is cozy, and in fact not much space for your luggage, but come on, you are in Koh Samui and dont spend too much time in the room. Only when it rains a week your might become claustrophic :-)! The outside bathroom was nice, we infor...

Different to most other hotel / resort stays, I would highly recommend Khwan Beach Resort to any couple looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Koh Samui's busy areas. I stayed in the tent villa (Coconut room). The interior decorations take you away to another time. The outdoor bathroom is a good twist as well. We were lucky enough to have some time to enjoy the poo...

The location of the resort right on the beach and happening part of BoPut/ close to Chaweng makes it really comfortable as it is away from the rush and walking crowds. The resort itself was well laid out, though units are close to each other. The Restraunt has an excellent view of the sea and is good. Seaside service is also available. Massages on the Beach are a sp...

While the hotel is one of the older hotels in Samui and its tropical beach style not the latest in hotel architecture it is truly a hidden gem and great value in the Samui hotel market. Very nice beach and pool area, close to Chaweng while at enough of a distance to avoid the noise and crowds. Rooms are very large and comfortable and it's all set in a nice beach gard...

I really wasnt expecting a lot from this hotel, and only booked it because it was a good price and close to the pier... but it has turned out to be one of my favourites. Well appointed rooms, a lovely pool, polite and friendly staff, as well as a once daily shuttle to the main part of Koh Samui (which you probably would want to take advantage of) has made it very much...

Best place to relax and have fun in Koh Samui. Hotel is located right on the best beach of Koh Samui. Vegetarian food is an issue but gets compensated by nearby restaurants available. Key attractions of this island are located in a vicinity and can be explored by hiring a bike available at a reasonable cost in the hotel itself. To enjoy the best part of thailand you ne...

We arrived at Shiva Samui and upon check in they upgraded us to one of the villas with a swimming pool! The villa was so beautiful and only steps away from the beach! We have been to several hotels in Koh Samui during our honey moon. We even stayed in a hotel that cost us 20,000THB per night. I can say Muang was both cheaper and better. The staff is EXTREMELY NICE and welcoming. Room was beautifully designed in a classic Thai style and had a Jacuzzi for two and an espresso machine as minimal standard. Breakfast was great (they serve...

Althought its our first time in Koh Samui, we have very high expectation for our hotel in this type of resort. Picking a hotel in Koh Samui was a tough call but I am really glad we went with Sareeraya. While located on the North part of Chaweng, it is walking distance from the main market yet tucked away enough to have a peaceful stay. The rooms at Sareeraya are one of a kind. I would suggest to book a suite instead of a villa as the view is much better. Service is excellent, w...

The resort itself was beautiful, it was just the right size so there were not to many people around but it had everything that you would need. The staff in particular were just lovely and very helpful. We stayed six nights in a plunge pool villa which was spectacular. We had an issue with the hot water on the first night which the staff ensured was fixed asap. The pool...

one of the nicer resorts we have stayed at in koh samui. the service was great with english speaking staff. the rooms are very clean, new and sacious with great air con. it is located on a quiet beach, there is not must sand at the front on the resort, and quite a few rocks in the water but has a great pool with pool bar located next to the beach.

Overall this hotel is located near the beach. The service level of the staff is fantastic. The hotel and room cleaniness is good. The buffet breakfast that we had is fantastic as well. I would recommend people that not are looking for a villa to stay in Koh Samui, Sheraton is a good alternative if you want a 5 star service.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! It was a good price for the space we get! We stayed at room 303, Pool Villa (Garden View). It was located on the 3rd floor accessible by stairs, it has 2 rooms with bathroom attached (one of the room was sort of like a dining area and the other one was a bedroom) and a nicely-sized pool. The rooms were in good condition and clean...

Upon check-in we were greeted with great smiles from the staff and obviously they were very prepared for our check-in. We enjoyed our stay... the restaurants Pak Thai was especially good for local food and the in-room dining is beyond imagination. We would love to stay again in this hotel the next time we visit Koh Samui.

Real reviews for hotels
Beach is a site focused on nightlife, beautiful beaches and if you have a car there is no problem relax in nature and attractions .
Tips: daily trips to surrouding islands - especially Angthong Marine National Park, note: temples to be located in the south are not easy to be "detected", very nice beach at Chaveng Noi (south Chaveng); very cheap renting of motorcycles (4-7 EUR per day)
we were 6 people came first time to Samui it was really great experience the Resort was totally on the beach with a very calm and great locations specially ideal for honey mooners, specially the staff were excellent, we also rented bikes from resort on a very cheap rate.
great place to vacation, especially during low season, try and stay at least 2-3 weeks because there is so much to do.
Samui is the least desirable of the Thai islands. It has been commercialised and over populated. Locals have got tired of the tourism and view it is a nuisance.
Samui has nice beaches and many tourist attractions. The local food is very good. There are many kind of travel there not only beach.
Don't get me wrong, I totally love Samui. But for a person who has the luxury to holiday in Thailand several times a year, there are better places to go, depending on what you want.
Perfect weather all year round with direct flights from Singapore. Not as economical as Phuket or Krabi but the people are nicer.
Samui is a big island, there are a lot of restaurants and dive centres and also small shops shopping.
NICE PLACE TO STAY YOU CAR HIRE CAR AND MOVE AROUND ,AT NGT PARTY IN ARK BAR IN BEACH WILL BE BEST THINGS TO DO AND NIGHT
I was in Samui 3 nights before leaving to Koh Phangan for the Fullmoon party. Unfortunately, the weather was not so nice because it rained but my friends and i still went for a swim in the pool.
My forth visit and keeps getting worse. A very noisy island where you are constanly bombarded by party, thai boxing, shooting range and japanese massage messages played repetitivly and extremly loundly most of the day and night.
Caters for broad spectrum of traveler - from wealthy to back backers. Be careful where you choose to stay, which also depends on what you want.
Samui is a melting pot of drinking joints and restaurants with a huge selection from fine dining to street food.
Samui is an island that become famous now which good but also bad in the same time as it is become too many people when comparing with the past 5-6 years.
As mentioned before on the Hotel review, Samui is victim of mass tourism, not bad but overrated and overpriced , won't be back, better places to see in Thailand .
Very small town. Can easily access by foot and motorcycle. easy to find halal food especially for muslim.
Honeymoon couples should try Krabi instead. Its a better place. Koh-Samui is over ratted and over crowded.
having seen the island of Samui 20 years ago the last time, I have to say it has changed a lot (but then the whole world had changed).
Samui lost the Thai charm that you still find in Koh Chang. To many tourists and business. Hard to find the Thaismile that you still find at the East Coast.
expected blue clear water with amazing beach and nice urban area, but found something else... still nice place to relax, highly recommend to take the 42 islands tour, the waterfall do not worth the burden
very good beach & place but very poor ferry transport & ferry management. im wait 6 hour for my turn.
There is something for everyone in Koh Samui. Golf, temples, islands for snorkeling, diving and not to mention tonnes of great places to eat.
Samui is a lovely holiday destination and a great place to visit. Chaweng beach has some good hotels right on the beach and excellent cheap places to eat.
Airport or boat, koh samui is easily accessible. Quite a large island, there is a lot to do here. View points, mountains, boat trips, shopping, nightlife, restaurants etc.
Samui is not as big as Phuket but more natural than Phuket. It is a good place for relaxing yourself especially spa and massage are at a very reasonal prices.
Don't ever go to Samui, very very expensive, just a rip off. much much cheaper in BKK, Pattaya, Puhket.
