Mauritius Island hotels & accommodations

Pleasantly surprised by this property. Kantee the Hotel Manager is outstanding, always making sure guests are having a good time. Even though the property is not 5 star, it feels definitely better than 2 star. Good breakfast, clean and spacious room. Sita and her sister in the Restaurant is very sweet and always welcoming. We had a great stay and will most definitely c...

Stayed for 8 nights at the beginning of November. The villa was fantastic, even better than described and larger and more beautiful than we had imagined. The location is good, with shops and restaurants within walking distance. In our opinion the area is one of the best on the island, although the local beach is a little disappointing but with a car it is not a proble...

We had four nights (three full days essentially) at Lux Belle Mare. The grounds are immaculate and you can do as little or as much as you like. We took the 'accommodation only' - food not included. This really suited us because we are not big eaters and we love to try EVERYTHING - and we went to just about every restaurant. We also went out and about, so a few 'resort ...

The Laguna Beach Hotel in Mauritius was amazing , the service was excellent , the was a bit of a communication delay when it came to confirming the Airport Transfer , but the driver did arrive on time and everything was sorted in the end . The deal we received was good, breakfast included is vital. The experience with Agoda was brilliant, Please keep me informed on mor...

Generally very good (stay last year Oct 2014) Pros: - Fantasic Location, nice stretch of quiet beach. We had a beach front room & the sea was 20 steps away. We sat at the terrace to watch the sea activities - Terrific Food Variety We always had a good choice of dinner & chefs were very nice to make our TomYam soup hotter in the Asian Restaurant & the Michellin St...

Everything was perfect at Maradiva hotel! We were there for Christmas with our 2 small kids and we enjoyed our stay a lot. On Christmas Day the hotel surprised the kids with gifts from Santa and my kids were so happy. Everything about the hotel was amazing from the way it looks to the punctual service, cleanliness, spacious rooms... It rained for few hours everyday but...

There are so many advantages of Shandrani hotel, it locates in the best famous place in Mauritius, the Blue Bay, it's absolutely the best fantastic hotel in Mauritius, and the facilities, services are very good. I won't hesitate to recommend this hotel to my friends

we were 'touring' mauritius as individuals and staying at different hotels as we made our way around the island. we pre booked our initial two day stay on the east coast then made our way gradually round the island booking as we travelled. this was the best hotel of the hotels we stayed at in mauritius. we were greeted warmly by the staff throughout our stay and u...

We were 3 generations staying together, some for the first time in Mauritius. We chose a Le Mauricia for its location and the sea view from the rooms. When we checked in our room was at the rear of hotel and the view was limited. I complained about this and I must say the staff were very helpful. There were none of our room type available with the good view so they upg...

there were only three reviews on this hotel when we booked and they were in korean, isreali and chinese! nevertheless, it seemed exceptionally good value for a 5 star hotel so we decided to try it out. it was our third hotel in mauritius and by far and away the best. service was excellent, food was outstanding and quality of rooms was superb. the infinity pool, bar a...

If you have the chance to travel to Mauritius Flic en flac reagion is an ideal place and Anelia resort is highly suggested with its location helpful friendly and sincere staff including the manager the animation team the recentionists shortly all was good Nilüfer Turkey

Pereybere Hotel & Spa is in the heart of Pereybere, 3.9 Km from Grand Baie. Location to the "Public beach" very convenient . This is a THREE star hotel, the rooms are spacious. clean and look newly decorated. The staff were amazing nothing to much trouble . My husband and I need this 7 day holiday and this was a perfect spot. Breakfast is served in the Restaurant dow...

Very nice hotel in a beautiful location . North western corner of Mauritius will increase the possibility of sunshine as weather usual builds up further inland and on the southern parts of the island. Fabulous sunsets. Restaurant all very good with good variety of food. We had a all inclusive package and we were not disappointed. Especially the Italian restaurant wa...

This hotel is set at the best location in Mauritius. The beach simply is the best, you can take a very nice swim or just lay there. Snorkeling was nice and easy, just a quick boat ride. Facilities (the pool in particular) and water sports were super. Also, there is a supermarket right across the road and a few nice restaurants within walking distance so you don't reall...

The smoothest check-in we have ever experienced. The breakfast included both a la carte & buffet which was amazing but nothing can compare to the dinner, the 5-course dinner every night, it was just impeccable. When you see the food presentation you might think, this might not be as delicious as it looks, but they exceeded my expectations without a doubt. The room - we...

In general, we had a very relaxed business and leisure trip and stay in Maritim Hotel Mauritius. In fact, we have been to this beautiful islands almost every year or 2 years since year 2000. We have stayed in many hotels but we would say Maritim is the best of all out of the 4 or 5 stars hotel that we have ever stayed in Mauritius so far. In short, it has all the bes...

The beach is definitely the highlight- the best beach we've experienced in Mauritius. The breakfast area flows onto the private beach and the public beach is literally a few steps away. Lots of food trucks/stalls at public beach selling delicious, fresh and inexpensive food. We especially enjoyed the food from the Food Court which sells stirfrys, pizza and burgers a...

We had taken the Beach View room. Pros - Large room with big bath tub - Scenic view of Beach direct from room - very nice food - clean - friendly staff - good Beach facilities Cons - Very expensive food - TV was old and didn't have video playback from USB Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and I recommend this to anyone looking to have a nice and peaceful time in...

We had a superior sea facing room which was really comfortable and had a stunning view. There a many beaches so you can get away from the crowd if you need to. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and the service - particularly the service cleaning the rooms - was excellent. We were on the all inclusive package which included excellent wines and access to all thr...

Seasense is a lovely medium-sized boutique hotel. It’s in a quiet part of the island on a beautiful beach facing east. The facilities and rooms were nicely designed and pleasing to look at. The only minor things to change were that there were not many sunloungers, meaning you had to be up early to reserve one, and they had a strangely formal policy of requiring men to ...

Absolutely brilliant- this hotel is perfectly placed if you want to experience some of the wilder, raw Mauritius, swim with dolphins, climb le Morne etc. Beautiful beaches and sunsets. The hotel staff were really accommodating, and will help you make the most of the many things to do in the area.

Me and my girlfriend went here just for one night to celebrate her 28th birthday. I mentioned to the hotel staff in one email, that we are celebrating and what can they offer to have a better experience. Reply was that they will do what is in their power :) When we arrived, they immediately gave us a free upgrade of the room to waterfront access deluxe room and it was ...

We had a beautiful stay here, we saw the entire island and we booked different hotels but this was the best one. The beach is so scenic and very private I would say. Although it’s quite a big resort the beach was not crowded and we found our peace there. We will definitely come back and we will stay longer. Thumbs up for the Dinarobin team! 👍🏻

My husband and I have stayed in many 5 star hotels, but this is the best service we have experienced. We were unlucky and had a 10 days vacation during the tropical cyclone Bansi that came close to the Island. Even though our sunny holiday never happened, the hotel staff and chefs made our stay amazing anyway. We had a great time, the food is truly fantastic. Think v...

This place was the highlight of our trip to Mauritius. Delicious food and a service that impressed us every day. Thank you for your fantastic teamwork and high quality food, location and warm welcome. We will revisit and follow your beautiful posts on facebook.

Having stayed at the Constance Ephelia in Seychelles which was really a good hotel, we decided to try the Constance in Mauritius. Unfortunately, it is nowhere close to the luxury experienced in Seychelles. The rooms are old and require complete refurbishment, not only soft furnishings and the rooms require a lot of maintenance. Service was good, the buffet dinner wa...
Cheap places to stay in Mauritius Island

Finding budget accommodation on Mauritius isn't easy, particularly if you're looking for something near a beach. Auberge Etiennette does the job quite nicely for Trou D'Eau Douce. Although the auberge is located in the village, a good 15 mins walk to the beach, it's really handy for the bus stop, if you want to venture further, has ample parking space and is surrounded...

This residence is situated on the main road with much traffic, but quiet at night, the busstop is in front of it ( in 20 minutes you are in Port Louis by bus,) a free drink when we arrived, a breakfast for free, even at our own room, a big fan and a comfortable bed

The apartment is conveniently located next to the Super-U hypermart. However, it took us quite some time to find it because we arrived after dark and we couldn't find any signs saying Dookee House. We even walked up and down the road a few times. We only found it after we entered the restaurant next to Super-U and asked the restaurant owner. The apartment is right abov...

This is a rather luxury and good hotel, a comfortable bed in a small room and own bathroom (twins are possible without a bathroom, but with television), a very nice indoor swimmingpool, very good equiped kitchen, but rather far away from citycenter (by bus to a road opposite the museum and then 15 minutes walking, situated in an area with expensive villas and no sign...

We stayed one night at le bamboo guest house and we truly enjoyed it. The room was clean, wifi and air conditioning were available. The owners made the difference! We got introduced to the local lifestyle and enjoyed a beautiful dinner in their living room! When you stay there, make sure you'll join them for dinner which is an absolutely delicious and local meal! They ...

We only had one night at the SM lodge due to some prior travel plans and we tried quite a range of different accommodation types and budgets on the island. I can thoroughly recommend it as a pleasant place to stay with friendly and helpful staff, great balcony views and really good value. You will see from the location that it is not on the sea front but every touris...

Ebrahim Flats is located on the Coastal Road in Grand Baie, and is in an extremely convenient location. It is right across from the beach, a 5 minute walk to Super U (large grocery store), and close to a number of shops and restaurants. The studio apartment was spacious and adequately furnished. There was enough seating, two side tables, a fan, an A/C, fridge, TV, to...

I booked my reservation at Auberge Le Saladier based almost entirely on what others said about their stay. The reviews appeared legit, and what people said about the hotel, and the environment there, seemed authentic. Having completed my stay there, I can only agree with everyone who raved about how pleased they were with their stay. For starters, my arrival flight wa...

It is basicly the lowest price I can booked in Mauritius. The Coco provides breakfast with bread, yogurt, juice, coffee, they get swimming pool, sunrise that you can catch it around 5:30am, very nice ! I m also like the location, just 30mins from airport buy bus to Mahebourg. Less tourist in Mahebourg which is good for me as I was just run away from crowds.

It was a wonderful stay in Paradisia hotel Inn. Yash, his parents and his young brother were very friendly and always ready to provide assistance and gave us any recommendations we needed. Twice they invited us for their family meeting and dinner and we had a wonderful socializing with them and with their guests. The only uncomfortable thing for us was Internet which w...

It is quite far from the airport but not far from the bus station that you can go to the airport. Opposite is a big supermarket and a pharmacy shop. The owner did not aspect me to reach late at night by 9 pm even tough I have already mentioned during the booking. I had to ring the door bell almost half an hour to wait for the owner to open the gate.

Mauristudio is a fantastic, clean apartment with all of the amenities needed for a trip to Mauritius on a budget. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, service was great. The apartment is very close to the beach but requires public transport to get to the nearest towns. There is a small shop and restaurant within 2 mins walk. Would reccomend for solo travellers or ...

The good: Breakfast(same everyday) on the rooftop with good view, walking distance to market, eateries and the waterfront. The downside: Left my cash in the room when I check out, the staff took forever to help to look for it, and when I have arrived to claim the money, the owner actually took it with him to send a customer to airport, i have to wait for half an hour...

It was a wonderful stay and amazing experience at the ONS Motel and Guest House. Our trip would have been ruined if we were not helped by the wonderful family of Mr Nizam (The owner). We are couples celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary in Mauritius and my wife suffered an injury after arrival in Mauritius. Mr Nizam went out of his way and took personal care of both...

Les Bambous was a gem of a guest house with very helpful owner and his son Ritesh. I stayed here on 3 separate occasions during my Mauritius holiday. The rooms gave a good night's sleep with simple but adequate breakfast served when you needed. Ritesh also took me on pre-booked excursions at a fair price and was very knowledgeable. Thank you!

The place was clean and all the facilities provided was satisfactory except the receptionist who was rude to my children due to their swimming suits. She claimed as my children were young they should be wearing two piece instead of their usual water resistant short and t-shirt. She exclaimed that since she has various international customers their attire is 'inappropri...

I can't say enough positive things about this wonderful family. They really helped make my stay pleasant. Extremely thoughtful and kind. The guest house is located directly behind the Tamil Hindu Temple. Easy bus access directly on the corner. Safe environment and beautiful view. You can beat the location and view for this price! I will definitely be back and would rec...

Right by the Grand Baie beach, cost friendly residence with spacious room and kitchen. They clean the room, change the sheets and towels everyday if you want. But I wanted the cleaning lady to change our sheets once a week since I change my sheets at home once a week. Why waste extra water and poison the ecological system with laundry detergent unnecessarily? There is...

Situated at the heart of Grand Baie this bungalows offers a fully furnished air conditioned, studio apartment with all electric appliances,a bathroom, kitchenette and a balcony.Ironing facilities, maid are also provided by them which are included in your cost. Sea beach & Super U mall is 1 min walk. Once you reach Mauritius they provide airport transfers. You don't have t...

I think Villa Soleil is an brilliant base for budget travellers to Mauritius. The bus hub of Grande Baie is just down the road, full of restaurants and home to lovely stretch of beach (although walk a little further to La Cuvette - it's worth it). There are plenty of local tours to choose from, and a huge shopping and entertainment complex right on the doorstep. The ow...

As it was quite a rush when booking for a hotel in Mauritius, i've made a mistake.I've made a booking for 1 person instead of 2. I checked in in the late evening and was pretty tired due to long hrs of travelling. I was greeted by this man at the reception. He told me tht we couldnt stay there as booking was made for 1 person. I do not understand why a queen bed and 2 p...

We were a family of four (2 adults and two kids - age 17 & 10). We had booked a 2-bedroom apartment with pool view for 5 nights (30th Apr to 4th May). The property was exactly as shown in the pictures. Our 1st Floor apartment was quite spacious - 2 bedrooms (each with an attached bathroom), living room with a sofa & TV, kitchen with a small dining table, induction ho...

The resort is set in quaint Flic-en-Flac, but the staff are great ambassadors of all the charms Mauritius has to offer. They provide good advice about activities all over the island to make your visit memorable and assist you to explore this idyllic island destination from coast to coast. However, it’s the warmth of their hospitality and the ambience that makes return...

Loved the peacefulness of Sakoa - perfect beach location at the quiet end of Trou aux Biches, with spacious rooms more like studio apartments, with big verandas. The staff were helpful and friendly. I have a few trivial suggestions in keeping with the standard of a 4-star establishment, such as bottled water and fruit bowls in rooms, tissues, shower caps. All in all th...

The suprise 4 star hotel "My wife Daughter and me have just returned from our holiday in Mauritius, we have been there many times before and have stayed in a lot of the top 4 and 5 star hotels on this trip we stayed part of the time the La Pirogue and part in the Ambre hotel we booked the Ambre at the last minute just to see if we liked it, i have to say that the Name ...

Our room was on the ground floor with little verandah. Couple of steps to the beach to watch magnificent sunsets. Our bed was not comfortable and on making on call it was sorted out so very impressed with the hotel staff and management. They take extra care in making the room look beautiful shaping animals from towels just a wonderful extra gesture which is so often...

really nice location, place in good condition with new style decor. staff very lazy but if you don't need anything then you'll be all good. but Grand baie is not the best place in Mauritius, go to flic en flac... way better Beach and alot more things to do!

It was a great stay at Oasis. We innitially plan to stay for only 2 nights but we finally extended our stay through out the trip. The villa is really nice especially pool and living room, well equipped kitchen. Although it is not beach front but Evaco provide a great private beach on La Plage. It should be the best beach we visited in Mauritius (better than Belle Marre...

Athena Villas by Evaco are one of the best private villas in Grand Baie, Mauritius. Someone looking for privacy like home and great atmosphere can surely look for Evaco properties. Athena has great charm and setting. The staff is excellent and services are up to mark. The encounter with all the personnel of Evaco was corteous and warm during the stay and all are helpfu...

We just returned last week after a week's stay at this resort and had a great experience with family. Both the caretakers Corinne and Valerie took excellent care of us during the stay and ensured pleasant memories. Booked through Agoda.com using a good offer the apartment (with 2 bedrooms to accommodate 4 people and 1 drawing room with dining etc.,) and I got a con...

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment. THE GOOD:- 1. The apartment is very well stocked. 2. Excellent quality of crockery, cutlery, glassware, etc. The quantity is also very good. you can easily invite friends over for a party. They have a gas barbecue kit as well. They also have all the stuff required for a family picnic. 3. The staff was very helpful & courteous. 4. D...

I love this place and if we come back again in MRU, we’ll be booking this place! The staff were all very nice and accommodating. It’s a very quiet place and the lobby/reception is well maintained. Hopefully there’ll be more options for their breakfast :)

The apartment is spacious and clean and well structured with a beautiful pool and sea view. There are convenience stores, ATM and restaurants at a few minutes walk. The pool is small but was rarely occupied with the beach a few steps away. Ashley (the resort manager) was helpful in getting basic groceries (at a charge) since our flight was delayed and we reached late n...

What a gem. Our stay was absolutely perfect. We spent 4 nights out of 14 nights in Mauritius. We stayed 6 different places in total but agreed that if we should ever return to Mauritius, we would definitely come back to Lakaz Chamarel and spend even more days there. The location was great. It felt secluded, but still you could bike around or take the shuttle to the bea...

We stayed at a number of places during our holiday in Mauritius and this was by far the best! I can't find anything to criticize...the rooms, grounds, staff, food, views were all wonderful. We opted for 1/2 board and found that if you walked to the other end of the beach there was great 'street food' on offer - dim sum, noodles etc. perfect for lunch time. The b...

We stayed at the hotel 4 nights. In september weather was very bad could not do any water activity. Gym room was very good. All works here and there is no loud music in the background like in most other hotels in Mauritius. Hotel offers free shuttles to airport (every 15mn; drive is only 5mn) as well and to a beach villa (every hour; drive is about 15mn) can visit for free just before your long flight.

The studios are perfect for self catering, very clean, modern, comfortable and easy walking distance to town and the supermarket. Kevin and Shasha were very helpful and accommodating and they provide amazing customer service. Thanks guys for having us, we really enjoyed our stay at Arkenstone a lot and will highly recommend it to anyone.

We Booked Royal Suite Room on ground floor.. which we think one of the best room you can get on this island for the price. Everything was good to excellent. The only main downsides were location and restaurant. location is only for those who do not want to go out of the resort as everything is at least 45 minutes to 1 hour from the resort. In restaurant, our main co...

The Seapoint Boutique is just as lovely as the Island itself (meaning wonderful!) and the service is great. The staff did their very best to accommodate our every need. In general the people in Mauritius are very kind, warm people, and Seapoint staff are even better. We haven’t met nicer people than them so far in our travels, really! The food is absolutely delicious ...

We enjoyed a lovely three night stay at Le Cardinal. The experience was somewhat marred, however, by alcohol prices that are little short of outrageous. Whilst I understand that Mauritius is an island, and that there are import duties and middlemen, paying as much for single bottle of South African wine as would yield no fewer than ten bottles of the same wine from a r...

We loved our 3 bedroom apartment with best views of the sea, close to the facilities of the resort and to the restaurants. The apartment was clean and well maintained with all amenities required. We were a group of 6 people and we all had our own space. Our 3 year old son thoroughly enjoyed the beach and the swimming pool and wants to come back for his birthday!

I travelled with my husband and parents to Mauritius and stayed at Royal Palm for 1 week. Service was superb and room is just at the beach. And I love the restaurants! we were the only Chinese family at Royal Palm during that week. They even prepared us with Asian Breakfast as surprise and mooncake for mid-autumn festival, which made us so happy. Thanks so much Royal ...

The resort ticked all our boxes as a family. The only recommendation will be to modernize the bathrooms for a superior feeling of comfort. The staff was amazing & made us feel super comfortable. We enjoyed the facilities including the massages at spa. Vishal from house keeping is truly an asset to the resort. Avrish from front desk was also very helpful & Caroline from...

The staff in the hotel really contribute to making your experience great. A lot of water activities and the food was good too. The rooms are a bit old and need refurbishment , but are still very comfortable. The beaches in this area of mauritius are a bit rocky and a lot of shells. Over all a good resort. Would definitely go back , value for money.

We went for the first time to Mauritius to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and selected Le Prince Maurice based on reviews and the online photographs. We were not disappointed! We had a perfect 6 days, even though it was low season and quiet. The service and friendliness of all staff was the best I have ever experienced! The restaurants were excellent, and I wa...

No doubt..! It is an excellent facility to stay with family. Space, basic amenities inside the apartment, cleanliness & household infrastructure, everything is excellent. However, as far as entertainment is concerned....operating the TV set was a big challenge. Almost every time kids tried to entertain with TV, they find the signals too weak to download any program.
