Muscat hotels & accommodations

This hotel is located in convenient area. It has good access to a new shopping mall, Muscat Grand Shopping Mall, bus stop, restaurant, bakery and cafe. Sightseeeing area is a little far from this hotel. But, hotel staff are very helpful. They shared local information with me, confronted a bad taxi driver instead of me and always worried about me. I really appriciate. ...

We knew nothing about Muscat and it's geography. We happened into the hotel because of the value and the ratings. The location is excellent, not far from the airport and attached to the Grand Mall and a walk to the Oman Avenues Mall. The mall allowed us options for eating. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. Julius, at the front desk, was always there to welcome...

Mysk al Mouj is an excellent hotel, very modern, clean and uptodate. Very capable and friendly staff and a very good cuisine (breakfast as well as diner - on Thursday evening an "Ocean" evening is being organized, with a big number of fresh fish to choose from. In the neigbourhood there are a number of other fine restaurants to choose from. Parking facilities are ok a...

Great hotel in a good location. If your driving while in Muscat they do have a parking garage below the hotel which is secure and free to use. The location is right on the edge of many of many shopping districts and not far from Oman Avenues and Muscat Grand Malls. The staff is very helpful and they do have a restaurant and the atrium area serves a variety of food fo...

The hospitality, cleanliness and everything this hotel have done for me is unbelievable and they will do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible 🙆 A big thank you to all the staff their and I will be staying again in ...

Nice new hotel. Clean and comfortable. Beds were extremely comfortable and staff helpful and pleasant. Nice roof top swimming pool. Quiet with lovely breakfast. A bit far out of center so unless you have a car can be expensive for taxi rides. Very good Indian restaurant close by and some good small Arabic eating places. Seemed to be mainly business people staying h...

I booked this hotel in advance for 8 nights and was fairly shocked to find that there were building works above my room. I have to say though that the assistant manager Wael and his staff did everything to put this right and I left feeling very well looked after and would love to return again in the future. The hotel itself is in a great situation just 5 minutes walk f...

my wife and i both found the ramee to be a fine hotel in muscat. There is a bar/nightclub downstairs that was fun to hang out at. The staff helped with renting a car and just had it delivered to the hotel. The breakfast was great mix of middle eastern and indian food (extremely good hummus. overall i would recamend the ramee.

The best place when looking for tranquility, relaxation and luxury! It's a wonderful place for those seeking relaxation in a unique surrounding. Some staff people are not 5star level but overall it's a fantastic place (even though expensive) to relax, hence i came already for the 2nd time. To go out for dinnere you need to take a cab, there is nothing in short walking ...

The hotel is located at 5th floor of the new terminal near several lounges. It looks a 4 star hotel . The room rate for each hour is Oman Rial 6.8 ( $18) . I used a six hour package for 29 Dec which was ralatively expensive compared to a package of 12 hours in Jan 2019 . The room and bed are truly comfortable and nice. The package is with one meal breakfast or lunch o...

This is the old 'in town' hotel in Muscat. It is the place were the 'smart set' used to get married. It has the most popular Japanese restaurant in Oman. The rooms are small but beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. Great in town location with taxis always out front. I will definitely stay here again!

I was looking for a 4-5 star hotel on the sea in Oman and this popped up as a special on Agoda. I had never been to Oman before, so of course I had not stayed at this hotel previously. I was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms were huge with ample air conditioning. The large king-sized bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a tub and a large shower stall. ...

Our expectations weren't amazing given that the City Seasons was a lot cheaper than the likes of Crowne Plaza, Intercontinental. But we were really pleasantly surprised. The superior room was huge with a massive bed and a decent sized bath. There is no bar, but a great rooftop pool with a view out to sea. Plus, City Seasons is really conveniently located so that it's...

Mutrah Hotel was a welcome respite for this solo traveller. I didn't want to stay at a fancy resort outside of town. There was an onsite restaurant that was good and they serve alcohol. There is also a lounge - which I didn't patronize due mostly to the smoking. My room was comfortable and clean. Mostly I enjoyed being able to walk to the souk, the fish market and musc...

To reach this hotel was a rather adventurous ride through windy mountainous roads. Specatular and enjoyable ride though. For first timers driving on this road it may take at least 1 to 1 1/2 hours to navigate through these roads to reach the hotel. The hotel is so isolated that ifyou wanted to get into the city (Muscat) it would be a tiring drive back. The hotel its...

The service in this hotel was top-notch. The staff were very concerned that we would have a fabulous stay. The dining room staff catered to our desires and provided delicious meals with excellent service. Muscat Dunes is an excellent choice for your stay in Muscat. It seems to be difficult finding a good hotel at mid-range prices in Muscat, so we were delighted to find Eastin Residences. The location initially seemed hidden away in a northern pocket of sprawling Muscat, but with views over the beach from the rooftop pool area (and the front rooms), the convenience of a supermarket and Pizza Hut below and the short drive to other ...

The rooms are big and the breakfast was really good, Indian, Arabic, and continental. The best part is this hotel is along a green space and people are out walking. It is close to the town center and shopping but is not noisy. After traveling around Oman we decided to go back to Muscat and stayed another night. I would stay again.

The hotel is located near the international airport at Muscat, which was a positive point. A second positive point was the very good front desk staff. But, there were two negative points that would stop us going back there: 1. The hotel does not have a licence to serve alcohol, which is unusual for hotels in Muscat aimed at attracting international travellers. 2. The...

My stay at the Husin Al Khaleej was pleasant with only 3 minor complaints. When I first arrived there was no running water in my room I checked-in late (9pm) and I guess the night shift wasn't able to correct the issue long story short I didn't get running water until the next morning (9am)The other minor issues are the lack of cooking utensil, pots and pans and the ch...
Cheap places to stay in Muscat

The location is very strategic as it is very near Badr Al Samaa Hospital (where I needed to go to), and shops in Ruwi where my friend went. Restaurants are everywhere, and bus station around Muscat is just outside the hotel. They have parking spaces also where my friend parked her car. Towels, toiletries and big bottle of water were provided. They have very accommodat...

Despite the booking being made months ago, the hotel was not aware of our arrival and frantically raced around trying to organise themselves. We were given a room on the first floor, which was clean and spacious. Not fancy but we were only there to sleep. The night receptionist was not very knowledgeable and could not really speak English (or Arabic by the sounds). Oth...

This hotel is only 9 months old. The staff were great and the rooms very well equipped. The free breakfast was a bonus. The location is not the best as you really need to have a car to get around but saying that it is close by to a really busy road were you can flag a taxi down. This hotel has a lot going for it but just need needs a few minor issues to sort out eg...

The staff were good and cooperative. Thanks to Sultan and Etrich (hotel manager). The breakfast was just acceptable. Toiletries were not as compared to other 3 star hotels. Otherwise the stay was pleasant. This was my first trip to Muscat and am planning to organize things before hand with this hotel for my next trip.

This is a basic budget hotel in Muscat. It's not really close to any of the tourist attractions, but it is in a quiet area and you can easily take a taxi to anywhere you want to go. There is a mini fridge in the room and a large supermarket nearby so that is good for self-catering. The staff are not very knowledgeable. We asked some basic tourist questions about museum...

We had a great stay at the Riyam, the staff were super friendly and helpful and it was the best value for money I've ever had in a hotel! The only downside was that our taxi driver found it a bit difficult to find the hotel as you need to take a somewhat hidden road to reach it, but apart from that it was 10/10 :)

This place was really a nice surprise for us. With help from the owner, it was easy to find. For both travellers with or without car, the room is nicely situated. Friendly and warmhearted welcome. We stayed 5 nights and would recommend this place to everybody. Nice breakfast too!!!

I wanted reasonable facilities. I got just exactly precisely what I wanted. I do not want to purchase a hotel. I want a comfortable, reasonably priced, somewhat spartan basic room. This is precisely what I got and remain here past my original booking. I am staying 10-nights not my original 3-nights. The staff is excellent. I was offered an upgrade to a very fine singl...

Very Good Neet & Clean property with excellent staff, every staff is cooperative , in room service for cleaning, restaurant and at reception , I would refer special thanks and give good recommendation to Omani male staff at reception with one Indian guy Mr. Iqbal Chiplunkar they were very cooperative and good same at house keeping guys who use to clean my room were ver...

muscat is an extended city so one has to choose which area to opt for. khuwair, the area the waves hotel is in, hosts most of the new four star class hotels, suitable for business and as starting point for city trips. around the corner is the brandnew km hypermarket, and lulu and a newly opening mall are nearby, and there are many small restaurants in the neighbourhood...

Excellent location, easy access just off the main Sultan Qaboos road. Next to Oasis mall, perfect for breakfast. Clean room, very attentive staff (changed our room based on our request as first one smelled smoke). Value for money considering high hotel prices in Muscat. Best comfortable bed (stayed in few Muscat hotels and always falling on hard bed). Will definitely r...

I have been a frequent flyer to Dubai but this was the first time traveling to Muscat, Oman. Amazing hotel with Super, Super, Super friendly and efficient team! Delicious Buffett, relaxing bar, spotless rooms and large clean bathrooms! The bed is tremendous after a Long intercontinental flight! I can not recommend this hotel enough for business travellers to Muscat.

We came from Dubai for a short family trip, 4 adults and an 8-month old infant. The hotel gave us an upgrade and a baby cot to make our life easier. The resort is about 15 minutes drive from Muscat city. The entire place is clean and located in a wonderful environment. From the room there is a beautiful view to the bay. We enjoyed our stay a lot and would come back an...

it's was a. good value hotel, in a prime location in muscat. the hotel was easy to find...we had driven from dubai. the room layout was good...junior suite. this allowed us to relax with a drink . the breakfast s adequate, without being super deluxe. the rooms are older, but well maintained, and totally adequate for the price. we would eryainly use this hot...

I have lived and worked in Oman for 15 years, this Hotel has been built for around 2 years the rooms are very nice with large bathrooms the dinning room leaves a lot to be desired it terms of furniture but the steak house (attached) just outside the front door is very good I will be staying again and the price was very good for Muscat.

The hotel was cheaper for a king size bed. There was no breakfast. The house keeping was friendly and helpful, Amenities were given like bottle water. Thank you to Al-Saif Grand Hotel management for providing us such excellent facilities at a very affordable cost. However, Transport was hard & you have to use taxi to get to other tourist destinations which were very f...

We had a wonderful stay with family. The Hotel is conveniently located. Only a few minutes drive to the beach and to the CBD. Excellent facilities, very clean and all the staff were great! Shrey and his team at the restaurant were simply exceptional!

Stayed for a week with husband and two children in the Grand Deluxe suite with a breathtaking sea view. . Occassion was our 10th wedding anniversary and my birthday. The Lady in Red and the Kempinski Muscat staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable and pleasant. Checked into the room to find red rose petals tastefully scattered in the bedroom and ba...

This is still the best hotel in Muscat and probably one of the best in the world. The location is simply superb. I can't understand why anyone would want to stay at Bar al Jissah or the Chedi. On this occasion our stay was spilt by the very poor set menu at the beach restaurant on Valentine's night. Ritz Carlton should do much better than this.

Three hotels in one al waha is family orientated so overrun with kids and more populous restaurants al bandar a medium hotel still with children but a bit quieter due to price, al husn is a premium hotel a lot more exciting expensive but with an air of exclusivity about it. All quiet expensive but expected for Oman right now...

Take the Big Bus Tour first and you will get to see all the most interesting places that you can visit afterwards at your leisure either by taxi or by hiring as car.
Muscat is a very nice city which has a combination of nature attractions (mountains, beaches, old souqs, and religious places), so we recommend it for every one.
Muscat is the capital city of Sultanate of Oman. One of the rich countries in middle east. Also have traditional culture and amazing places.
The city is modern and clean with beautiful architecture. Shopping malls have something for everyone, with imported goods from all over the world.
Visit Muscat during winter season and you'll get to go to most of the places of interests and museums without having to worry about the scorching heat.
Compared to Dubai, Muscat is a village-like capitol. Friendly and welcoming but no skyscrapers, traffic and vibrant nightlife.
Muscat is nice place for relaxation and it was pleasant stay in muscat mandi is very tasty in muscat and good price.
A lovely city to visit with plenty of activities to see. When planning a stay the location is very important as Muscat is very spread out.
Perfect place to relax but you have to go outside Muscat city. Go to Shangrila or Le Sifah. Perfect place to stay close to the beach and doing all ocean sport activity.
Perfect for holidays relaxing. Sitting by the pool or on the beach for sun tanning or boating along coasts and arabian sea.
Muscat is a lovely city, but is spread out and needs time to explore. There are some great excursions from Muscat such as Nizwa and Jabrin, Wahiba Sand, Rustiq and Nahkl.
Need to take a taxi for transportation. Always has to negotiate with the driver before getting into the taxi.
its very nice quite city, has many places to be visited , cultural places , good beaches, mountaines (wadi) and diving options.
Fantastic settings on the foothills. Great Ocean and mountain views due to restrictions on building high rise structures in the city.
Muscat is a small country BUT the people are friendly and polite. All the places are very clean and arranged.
A very clean and friendly and clean town with lots to see. I loved seeing the Omanis ( male and female) jogging on, or just enjoying the beach.
Muscat is the nicest of any cities in the Middle East. If all of the ME would be run like Oman, the place would be paradise.
Beautiful city of muscat is engulfed among mountains and beaches. Seems like a white oasis.. so beautiful.
Muscat is a very diverse city with it´s historic district and souqs, the modern Qurum district with nice beaches and lot´s of nightlife etc.
Marvellous, mountainous, Muscat. Spread out and covered well by the Big Bus tour (recommended). Suggest a 2 day pass to fine tune the sightseeing as it is unlikely that hopping on and off in one day is sufficient.
wonderful town, excellent shopping , citizens are very polite and friendly. Women can walk alone with no nuisance.
So beautiful old areas with long cornich. old market with so many shops. good food. people are nice and polite ,different from some north african countries.
- It is important to start the visit in the morning, because during the afternoon, the traffic jam starts from 16:00 hrs in the direction to Ruwi and Mutrah, from Gubrah or Airport area.
Beautiful city, pleasant people, Looks more like a mountainous town than a metropolitan but all modern amenities are available.
Charming city with incredible hospitality. Muscat is a good base to do most things. A couple of things to note - buses that travel long distance only go twice a day and taxis are the only way to really travel around between suburbs or by car.
A nice and quiet city with friendly people everywhere. Rent a car and drive around, especially the corniche.
Nothing really special, the country is still under developing plans, needs at least 4 to 6 years to reach that level.
Beautiful city, kinda reminds me of the old days in the middle east, you can get the same kind of feel when you visit the resturants.
Muscat City is great to sightsee for the day, but i would rather stay at the Shatti qurum area which has great hotels and has more to do.
I think the most beautiful place is the road near the beach, near by the Franch museum and the palace.

Public displays of affection are frowned upon, so it’s best to keep interactions respectful and discreet.
Currency exchange is another essential aspect to consider when traveling to Muscat. The official currency is the Omani Rial (OMR). While credit cards are widely accepted in hotels and larger establishments, having some cash on hand is useful for shopping in local markets and dining at smaller restaurants. Currency exchange services are readily available at the airport and throughout the city, ensuring you can easily access local currency upon arrival.
Language can also be a consideration for travelers. The official language is Arabic, but English is widely spoken, especially in tourist areas. Knowing a few basic Arabic phrases can enhance your interactions with locals and show respect for their culture. Simple greetings and expressions of gratitude, such as "shukran" (thank you), can help foster connections during your stay. With these tips in mind, navigating Muscat will be a smooth and enjoyable experience.
