"1st time we came to Penang, we stayed here because of the location. It is at the very top of jalan penang and there are so many things around. Bars behind the hotel, places to eat within 2 minutes walk, street market within 3 minutes and at the end of the street market, shopping centers are pretty much accross the road! Although there are other hotels that are located on jalan penang itself, bayview still wins hands down on location. The fact that its at the top of the street means a slightly quieter atmosphere. I mean, you don't want to step out of the hotel 1st thing in the morning to see some locals sleeping on the street, do you? Because that's what you'd get if you stay at the hotels on jalan penang. The band they constantly have performing each night is very good too. Sometimes after a hot day walking around or shopping or whatever you do in penang, you just want to relax and have a drink or two and listen to the band singing your all time favourites and do shout outs when you request a song (or 10!). We came back to penang a year later. And even though we originally wanted to stay in a resort around batu ferringhi, we decided we loved bayview the 1st time and we'd show that appreciation by returning. And were we glad we did. We arrived in the island quite late and was exhausted. We checked in at about 11:30 pm and Izhan (forgot the spelling of the name) asked if this was our first time in penang, so we told him we were there the previous year. After what seemed like 5 seconds, he thanked us for returning to bayview and upgraded us from superior room to premier! That's not even the next level of room up (superior then deluxe then premier then suite). At 11:30 at night after a long flight, I don't ever remember having much energy but I was jumping up and down. So thank you! Overall, aside from location, value, facilities available and all other things they advertise, experience like mine is not something you always get at other hotels. Thumbs up"

"The process quite smooth as we no need to wait for host to come or any agent because all we do is self check in. Once you book the suite, the host will whatsapp all the details and instruction. We can access all the facilities at the apartment but got bit problem with the card as the lift cant really detect the card that I need to try for many time only can press the lift button. Quite lonely also maybe because of the apartment is new build one. Other than that all good. Will repeat once come to Penang again"

"My 1st time in penang, hotel staff greeted us with some icecream. Fast check in process. At checkin they gave us twin beds, but i requested a king size which they very quickly magically transformed our twin into one large bed. Location - omg convenient. Literally 2 mins walking distance to either Gurney plaza (left?) or Gurney paragon (right?). There's plenty of coffeeshops there & places to shop. Facility - pool is kind of small. A nice terrace for drinks overlooking the whole of george town. "

"Spent 2 nights and it's worth the stay in this Penang hotel even though the room is quite small. Near Komtar terminal and the hawker lane with Chinese/ Indian cuisines. They also have very friendly staff especially the guest relations officer (Martin is the name, I think) as he recommended places to go and speaks English very fluently."

"I visted Penang often and have experienced staying at various hotels in Penang. So Far my preference is still Cititel Hotel which is very friendly and efficient. The check-in and checkout were hassle free (cannot recall the front desk staff names)and better still the greetings and smiles made me felt very welcome ... I love the car park located on Level 2 & 3. I can access the Lobby Lift and go straight up to my room (via choice of 4 very fast Lifts). Oh yes the Dragon, constructed using recycled mineral water plastic bottle is still being displayed in the Lobby. Great for photos!"

"1.) This is not a hotel, is a personal properties that lent out like airbnb, so dont expect 24hr services like u get in hotel Good : Located in a very strategy place, near to gurney drive and george town. It might seen very far from penang hill on the map, but it is actually just 15 mins drive!! Room is super clean, it come with two room and one toilet. One room is attached with the toilet so it can consider is a shared toilet. Each room equip with fully functional air conditioner. Living room also got one air conditioner, super cold even in 3pm! The person in charge Uncle pang is a very nice person, surround the building got many parking but Uncle pang can reserve one parking for you too! Others : Microwave, fridge, Television with DVD player(No remote control for DVD player, so use ur phone instead. ) Bad : Since the toilet is a shared toilet, the toilet door should be can lock on both side, to protect privacy. The room attach to it cannot lock the door inside the room. The curtain of each room windows is drop down style, so it cant fully hide from outside, u can see through the room via the side of windows. Hence, privacy is not protected well enough. U can stick it to the wall by using tape though Anyways, I will still recommend to my friends but will recommend more if the windows curtain issue fix first!"

"St.Giles is tallest hotel in penang, view from our room is KOMTAR Building, and sea. My daughter love to stay in this hotel because they have free popcorn in reception. This hotel is very near to 1st avenue mall, and this mall connected to komtar and prangin mall, just walk turn right. If you turn left, we can get to GAMA supermarket, which have cheaper prices than others and also we can go to new lane food hawkers, macalister road zim sum which sell dim sum, atek durian...etc. Easy check in and check out. My daughter "
