"We came here for our 30th Anniversary. Stayed in a beach bungalow. Resort is small and amenities so close and you get beautiful beach/water views hanging out at resort, really no need to pay the extra for a beach bungalow. Grocery store minutes away as well as several quaint restaurants within walking distance. Hotel food very good as well. Great snorkeling right at hotel. If you go to Rangiroa and don’t scuba dive, you are missing out in a wonderful experience. "

"We stayed in an Ocean breeze villa for 6 nights at Moana. The location was perfect, a 3 minute walk from Tiputa Pass where you can see dolphins every evening. The supermarket and restaurants were just another 5 minutes away. We received a 6 star service all the way from our airport pickup to drop off in helping us book tours to buying good quality pearls. Couldn't recommend this place any better. Will return to Moana when I return to Rangiroa. "

"Wife and I decided to extend our stay in the French Polynesia after chartering a sailboat in Bora Bora. We picked Rangiroa for its diving. There are not many choices on the island for a resort, I think there is one other "hotel", but Kia Ora was great. I felt the value to money was good and typical of any resort. You could always eat at some of the restaurants but please realize this is a very tiny community and that other restaurants will be very different than Kia Ora in terms of atmosphere. I recommend renting the scooter or bikes and go explore. You can definitely get some beer and wine cheaper at some of the convenience stores on the main road. There really is only one road. Note that most places are closed between 11 and 2 or 4 and all places are closed on Sunday. We had a beach bungalow and the view of the lagoon was great. Bungalow has ok air conditioning but just open a window to create a draft for the day and you should be good and use AC at night. Felt the bungalow was comfortable and we really don't have any complaints with it. We didn't spend a lot of time in it either though. Service was great and everyone was nice to us. The resort has a buffet with dance show on Sundays and Wednesdays. I highly recommend this as the food had a nice variety and the show put on by a local dance company (with kids and adults) was very well done. We enjoyed every minute of it. All in all, Rangiroa and Kia Ora are very laid back places and you can really escape. Even the internet is so slow you won't bother. :-)"
