Real reviews for hotels
Samosir was a quiet getaway from the mainland of northern Sumatra. A great place to rest, relax, and recharge yourself! We enjoyed walking around the small peninsula/island, and found that a walk around the entire thing took a little over an hour.
The Island preserve a great history of Batak Tribe. So if you want to know more about the origin of Batak, you should come here.
Nice place to relax and suitable for those people who like to do nothing. The natural view is amazing and we climbed the mt.
Good for those ppl who like to do sightseeing and enjoy the nature view. Be prepare for poor facilities such as toilet, ferry, roads, etc
The place is a good 4-5 hours drive from Medan, if you come directly from the airport, add another hour.
Samosir Island is a quiet place steeped in the Batak culture. You can see it in the style of the houses as well as churches which dot the island, a legacy of the missionaries who came to covert the Batak people.
Samosir island is cooling and great view. Island surrounding with paddy field, flowers, hills and mountain.
A quiet and peaceful place suitable for couple and honeymoon, beautiful scenery and historical site but for muslim travellers finding halal food is a big problem.
Well if there is a flight from Medan to Samosir; I might go again to Lake Toba. But otherwise I may not ever go here again.
