I have booked hotel Meson de Maria by reading good reviews. They did not disappoint me. Nice clean room, good wi-fi and good location for sightseeing. Only small complin was breakfast. Most of the food run out when I went there. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this hotel.

Had a great stay at Hotel Villa Del Lago -- we even extended our stay by 1 night. We booked the deluxe room with a private balcony because it was the only room available, and are really glad we had to "treat" ourselves - it was really worth the extra $10 or so. The room was spotlessly clean and the staff were always cleaning the common areas. The communal balcony ar...

Waking distance to Tikal! Authentic feel in lodging : rain shower and wake up to sounds of the rain forest. Food was excellent! In our short stay , we had three meals. Only negative is very strict about 3 people per room but can pay an extra $10 for that person I believe. Over all , memorable experience. One last thing, they will keep your carryon in a room if ...

This place got more than 1 star just because the staff was very nice and helpful...other than the room was aweful. First we got dirty sheets and towels, we asked and got new ones with no problem..but they were dirty as well. Next, we found so many ants in the room we needed to ask the receptionist to help us clean and spray insect repellent in the room. We had spiders ...

Stayed here for two nights in February and will not forget the cold rooms (16-17 degrees Celsius). All attempts to heat up the room with the aircon failed. When I called them, they said the heater doesn't work and that they don't have heating in Guatemala (although the aircon unit had a heating function). So I had to work with my jacket and shoes on. Not acceptable for...

This hotel enjoys more than the best spot in Tikal. It has a great pool area where you can cool down whilst the park is too hot or too busy. The best times to visit the park is early morning and after 3pm when it has cleared of the main bulk of day visitors, you will see more animals and enjoy most monuments all by yourself. We saw many birds including parrots and touca...

We came to Casa Azul after our visit to Tikal and ended up spending three days. The third floor terrace is a great place to chill out and read. It is a great place to sit and watch the sun set. There is also a great view of the lake from most rooms. The beds are really comfortable. The ladies who work at the hotel speak only Spanish, but communicating was not a p...

With the hotel everything was nice! JUST BE CAREFULL DO NOT BOOK BUS TICKETS AT THE TRAVEL AGENCY IN FRONT WITH GREEN DOOR! He selled me a direct bus ticket to Antigua with AC and 9h journey, at the end we went with a bad small bus no ac for 8 h thru rio dulce, than we chaged to a better bus but had to go thru Guatemala City, it took me 13h to arrive!

The facilities are maintained perfectly. Ultra clean considering it's all open air facilities. Perfect spot on a side arm of Rio Dulce, great sheltered swimming. We were nicely provided with extra blankets for the night, when it got cold. No cons for me, but a few guests seemed to have been caught by surprise with the no outside food, and fact you need a boat to get ...

Nice place, clean, hot hot shower, quiet for Guat . Gotta walk about 15 min to main street. Walk out the door head toward the water and there is the locals playa, you can also follow the shore to downtown. If you turn left out of the hotel you can walk to Santa Catrina in about 45mins, lots of nice views of the lake on the way. i

Every aspect of our stay was spectacular. The bi-level suite was everything we hoped it would be. One very nice aspect of the hotel is that it is in a quieter part of the town, but not to the point of losing easy access to everything. Spectacular restaurant, attentive staff, and ambiance galore.

We would thoroughly recommend Casa Amelia.Wearrived in pouring rain after 10 hours in the bus,and it all was so welcoming.Soon we had our shuttle booked for Tikal, and were sitting at the breezy lakeside restaurant recovering-restaurant open until 10.Our room was a corner one with lots of windows looking onto the lake. There was a small supermarket and cash machine just ...

I paid for a dorm room, but it seems like most backpackers head to Los Amigos in the middle of the island so it meant I had the room to myself which was nice. Really helpful staff (Spanish only - which was fine), helped me book my tours to Tikal, but I paid more than some on the tour so maybe shop around.

Clean hotel, noisy as a result of flooding of the front street (along the water), which makes the street directly in front of this hotel to be the turning point in a circular route around this tiny island- cars, vans and motorcycles! Be warned that this hotel does not accept credit cards and the expectaion upon my arrival at 10 pm was to pay all 5 days of my stay wit...

The location is the best you can get.. right on the doorstep of Semuc Champey. You're in the middle of the jungle way up in the mountains so you can't expect a 5 star resort. The place was clean and well maintained and that's all you can ask for. Rooms were spacious. There is no hot water and the power is only on from 6pm to 11pm (by generator) and there is no Wi-Fi....

After initial confusion to my room, I was placed in a an upstairs room, 1 of 2 on that level, nice spacious room, great bathroom with all amenities, super cheap. A little out of the ways, but still close to restaurants and shops... Wifi was good, no negatives to be honest...

Vista Verde is a great place with a awesome pool with great views and Lisa who runs the the place made me feel like I was family and has a great sense of humor. The best review I can give is if I ever go back to Lanquin the only place I would choose to stay is Vista Verde

The staff (couple of German guys) was very friendly, the place is just magic and the food/drink prices are fair even they could charge much more due to "monopoly". (ie. you cannot go anywhere else - you're in the jungle and the only way is by the boat). The food was great (fishburger), the sleep in the reed hut amazing, everything clean. Much better (and a lot cheaper)...

Our private room is spacious and clean. We love our hammock in front of the room with the gorgeous backdrop view. The hot water works well. The WiFi is only available in the restaurant and the speed was average. The food is good and the staffs are friendly.

We had a great room over looking the garden /jungle with monkeys in the tree above our room ( and they stayed there didn't come down and bother us). Great pier to swim off and watch the wildlife, 4 toucans sat on a tree over the hotel, fishing bats and loads of parrots. They run a 530 bus to Tikal so you get to see the best wildlife and the temples before the coaches a...

The first room we got had no windows in it and smelled funny. When i went to the shower i smelled smoke and it was the electric wire for the shower heater. We got a new room but here the shower head kept leaking. The new room had windows in it, but was really noisy. Because everybody has breakfast close to our room and they like music in the morning we got woken up rea...

Dingy and dark room, bathroom could be cleaner, but very cheap and okay to lay your head for a single night on a very tight budget. I wouldn’t want to stay more than one night though (unless your other option is staying in dorms - that’s the kind of tight budget I’m talking about).

Okay no frills place to lay your head for a night if you’re on a very tight budget (same price as a dorm room elsewhere in town!). It was clean enough although bathroom could be cleaner, great water pressure in shower, family run, very nice owner, excellent wifi reception. Very hot though in the daytime even though there’s a ceiling fan (okay when it cools down at nigh...

It was a great experience, we originally booked for two nights and ended up staying for 5. We stayed in the cheapest room but got great value. the water is blue and warm and you can take kayaks around the ocean or up some rivers and see beautiful waterfalls nearby, great value

Basic room at a budget price, clean and cosy, nice bathroom with lots of hot water in a large shower, possibly the best shower in all of Guatamala! Down a small lane from the main street of town Viajero is in a good location. Staff don't speak much English but they are friendly and helpful. A good place to stay!

I enjoyed my stay in the hotel. It is not far from the airport and provide airport pick up which is very important as my flight arrives later after midnight. The next day, the hotel owner was so friendly to give me some local information and it took me just about $4 to go to city center. He also offered a $10 shuttle to Antigua. Everything works well in my short stay i...

Not many choices on Flores and this one seems as good as any. Large room. Small pool we didn't use. Room had balcony you could stand and watch the people action below. Street behind is on water and becomes a night market after dark. No elevator. Hotel had a motel feel to it. Room entrance was from outside. Has indoor/outdoor restaurant but there are many restaurants ar...

Our master suite room had the AC broke, the Call center says that the room only had air, we call to the reception and they only says that they are gona check, but the answer the next day was that the room is big and AC is too small. All the 3 days the master suite was very hot and with a smell. The manager send me and email only saying sorry. We pay 400 USD per nig...
