Best on offer in a limited setting”

The hotel is large and clean and offers direct bookings at less than half the on line price! The breakfast is completely Laos food. There are no phones in the room and no English channels on the TV and you must remember to turn the hot water switch on before taking a shower. The bed was huge and the room was clean. 5 minute walk to the market amd bus depot. There are a number of guesthouses that one might try as an alternative. Quiet town.

Good hotel to stay in Phonsavan ”

One of the better ones in town. Breakfast is okay. Nice coffee and tea. Room is cleaned almost daily.

Ausreichend”

Ok location. Booked a deluxe king room but when we arrived & turned on the AC, the AC started leaking & dripping water. No other deluxe king room was available for us so they moved us to a smaller size room that they stated was a deluxe king room too but just smaller in size??? No change in room price or credit even though they moved us to a smaller room. The only 2 good things was this hotel had a working elevator and breakfast was good.

Simple hotel in a remote town”

Some observations : -Check in simple and efficient -They sent a driver to meet me at airport, without me asking. I was led to believe that this is some sort of scam by my tour guide - so who knows and it is worrying how they knew what mode of transport I was coming into Phonsaven. -At breakfast at 7.15 (it opened at 7)abd food was already cold.

Good location, large rooms and nice and fresh. Only down side no resturant for lunch and dinner.

Basic Hotel ”

Basic hotel for mainly business travellers to Xiangkhouang. We stayed here for two nights during visit to Plain of Jars. Staff were friendly, however unable to converse in English. Basic hotel with basic facility. Breakfast was mainly local food with fried rice, noodle and pho (rice noodle soup), etc. Fried egg was full of recycled oil smell. The staff seems to stay in the hotel with their children running around and screaming in the hotel. The window in the room is too Low and bad for the guest’s safety. Emergency door was always open to the fire staircase. Lack of security in this hotel. Not many eateries around since it seems like just a one Main Street town. Unlikely to recommend this hotel, however Xiangkhouang is a small town and may not have many choices of hotel.

Good breakfast, good view of paddy fields, but, perhaps at off-peak season?”

As some guests have said, the breakfast was good, with some local delicacies like soft rice noodle roll. You can have a view of paddy fields nearby on the top floor, which serves as the breakfast "dining" hall. However, we met a cockroach in our room during our stay. It was not a big deal to me but I think the hotel could do more, especially at the off-peak season.

Fantastisch”

Very good hotel if you’re visiting the Plain of Jars. Less than 10 minutes walk into town. Booked my tour at a tour office in the town which is connected to Nice Guest House which is on the right hand side of the road as you are walking away from the hotel. The guide/drivers name was Van Koh his English was very good and easy to understand. We used him for a driver only but he was quite happy to answer any questions and the thing I liked most is that we never felt under pressure. I would certainly recommend him. We did have someone at the hotel who wasn’t connected to the hotel who tried to sell us a tour when we arrived which was very expensive. Glad we didn’t have him. The hotel also arranged a complementary pick up and drop off at the airport.

Just OK”

This hotel is OK. We booked a very large room and indeed we got it, with a separate sofa area. The finishing of the hotel is average however. The personnel is OK, but apart from one or two, not very anticipating and just doing their job without much enthusiasm. Although our room was close to the main road, we were not heavily hindered by noise, so OK. The breakfast is also OK, but not overwhelming. Egg is baked by a non-smiling lady and no sausage or bacon. Two out of three days that we stayed here there was a kind of buffet with some warm vegetables, rice and other. There was some nice Chinese bread, but mostly we ended with an egg and some toast with marmalade and some fruits. OK, all by all it is acceptable, but much room for simple improvements.

A faceless tower inmidst of the city, parking, brekky - the works. Not a place to spend two weeks vacation but an ideal night stop. Will be back

Newly build, no noise from street and had a brilliant sleep. Should have stayed longer.

New hotel, very comfortable”

Comfortable bed, and quiet at night -- except for the chickens at the nearby temple. Very good wifi, but breakfast could be improved. No good restaurants in the immediate locale -- have to walk 10 or 15 minutes to good food. Overall, a good choice for a 3-star hotel.

Happy Stay, Questions Value”

Wonderful and helpful staff, 24 hour security, I believe I was one of about 3 guests there during my stay. However, I don’t believe the facilities or breakfast options are really worth 23 dollars a night when other guesthouses have the same facilities but for a smaller amount: there are some bug problems, and breakfast options should be expanded a bit. Still, I was happy with my stay and that the staff was connected to other staff around town so they knew I was coming and were able to pick me up from my the bus station and such. All in all, I was happy with Favanhmai Hotel.

Clean, new hotel”

Conveniently located on Road 13. The room is clean and quite spacious. Has plenty of parking space. Good breakfast. Sells SIM card at reception. Staff speak quite limited English so communication was a bit difficult. Pick a room on the top floors for a very nice view of Phonsavanh town.

New hotel no idea”

Beds room and location good but... staff have no idea - they turn off power to your room so heater/air conditioning doesn’t work unless you demand it - hot water need 20 mins to heat up then runs for 2 and when less than 5 degrees outside this is not ideal. Breakfast is eggs and nothing else - there is no one site manager to organise staff - they don’t greet you as you enter just sit and play on phones - very limited English - it’s like they built a flash hotel and then ran out of money to run it - for a nice hotel was really disappointing

New place with off street parking, acceptable breakfast, WiFi worked (sometimes), staff rather grouchy. But then you're not there for the stay at the hotel - good base on site!
