We stayed for three nights and the owner was very helpful.

Exzellent”
This is one of the few places on Don Det where you can get rooms with AC, which was well worth the money in this hot and humid climate. Also the owner, Darren, was very kind and accomodating to us in changing our arrival date because one of us got food poisening. And on top of that he offered to pick us up and drop us off at the ferry. Most bars and restaurants are close by and most importantly monkey beach is a 5 minute bike ride away, where you can cool off in the river.

Friendly welcoming host”
Comfortable bed with good room air conditioning. Within easy walking distance of the ferry. Friendly welcoming host which made all the difference to me as a solo traveller. Also very helpful and he makes a great cup of coffee in the morning.

Exceptional ”
The best place to stay on Don Det. Rooms are so big, clean, and comfortable with everything you could possibly need, including a really well-stocked minibar and snacks! Free tea and coffee in the morning, hot shower with good water pressure, and beautiful view over the river from the peaceful garden with a lovely patio area complete with hammock and table/chairs. Darren picked me and my luggage up from the ferry pier and was so amazingly helpful throughout my stay. He was always available if I had any queries or needed any advice on things to do/onward travel. The property is just a short walk or bike ride into the main village and seconds away from the gorgeous rice paddies. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thanks!

Great palace to chill”
Large simple rooms with super cozy bed. I enjoyed sitting outside at night and watch the stars. Bathroom was also big. The place was really taken care of, everything was in great condition and better quality what you usually see in rooms. The fridge is full with a wide range of sodas, beers etc. not the only 4 or 6 you usually get. You can also choose from a wide range of chips, munchies etc available for normal prices. The owner is super nice and got great tips. My room had A/C and a Fan which is great because it let you choose. Would definitely recommend the place.

Exzellent”
We loved our stay at Moon by Night, so much so that we extended our trip. The rooms are new, spacious and offer A/C and a comfortable bed (plus free water refills!). Darren, an Aussie that's been in Laos for 15+ years, is a wealth of information about the island/the country and an incredible host. Highly recommend a visit!

Amazing location with beautiful sunset”
Big room with big bathroom, clean linens, a very lovely stay. Host Darren was so kind that he offered to pick us up at the ferry pier and picked up our luggage for us. Don Det is a small island and you can bike around easily.

Loved it”
Very nice new modern building/rooms with excellent AC & plumbing. Very friendly owner who met us right off the boat and was always more than happy to chat, offer advice on what to see/do and supply free water refills, tea, coffee, hot choc. Would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone. Thank you Darren for a lovely & memorable stay

Best place to stay in Don Det!”
We really enjoyed our stay here. The air con was great, wifi worked well, short walk to anything you need and Darren was extremely helpful! We ended up staying an extra night because we liked it so much. Would stay again!

Really nice place to stay”
It's walkable to town so its easy to find many places to eat but still quiet and right across the road from the river. The guy who runs the place knows what he is doing and is really friendly with great customer service. Its clean and really nice for such a small island. One of the best values I have had.

Perfect stay.”
Beautiful, spacious rooms, friendly owner who helped with our bags, good location (short walk to the main strip). We had a really lovely stay here, it is a little more expensive than other places but it is worth it.

A great place to chil”
booked for 2 days and stayed for 3. Nice quiet part of the island to relax away from all of the bags but still within walking distance. Darren is a brilliant guy, very knowledgeable about the island and travelling and is happy to help with anything you need.

Nice quiet bungalows away from the main community on Don Det. Owner was super helpful and friendly.”
Pros: quiet spot, restaurant right next door, wifi worked well (at least by laos standards). Rooms are basic but clean, beds are big and comfy. Owner is very friendly and will help you out with whatever you need Cons: no water for shower (to be expected though) and mosquito net had a few small holes in it. Otherwise no complaints!

'smorgens een lekkere kop koffie of cappuccino 😋! Eigenaar kan je alle tips of raad geven. Hij brengt zelfs je zwaar geladen rugzakken van of naar de pier! 👏👏👏
