The garden area of the hotel has a great view of the volcanoes! Wake up early for better views! Staff were generally good. A little walk from the main town of about 10min. Food was good. Old school kinda building but clean.

We stayed at hotel Utz jay for one night. The room was nice but seriously overpriced, the only problem with the actual room is that the shower didn't drain so you ended up in a pool of water by the end of it. Basic room at a budget price, clean and cosy, nice bathroom with lots of hot water in a large shower, possibly the best shower in all of Guatamala! Down a small lane from the main street of town Viajero is in a good location. Staff don't speak much English but they are friendly and helpful. A good place to stay!

There was a leadership event happening at the hotel and it was very loud with cheering, singing, and shouting throughout the day, and into the night. The clean-up of the event included noise from moving furniture and setting up the room, until 2am. The staff were apologetic but didn't offer any remedies. My suite was very basic.
