Find hotels near Egu Luo in Lijiang, China

After trying to find the hotel for over an hour, a kind police officer led me to the hotel that I had walked into and left due to it being a different name, not matching the photos on Agoda, and the map location being off by a few hundred meters. It is not called star snow mountain view resorts, it is called snow snow mountain resorts on the sign out the front, and the main photo does not resemble the hotel at all. They had my booking information so it is the place. Once checked in I had a satisfactory stay. The room was quiet and comfortable, and the non-english speaking staff and I communicated through apps on our phones which worked well enough. Breakfast was asian style with sausages, rice, eggs, sweet potato and green vegetables on offer, although stocks were low by the time I arrived in the dining area at about 8:30/9AM. The kind man on the front desk also made me the coffee of my choice, in addition to the 'cappuccino' he insisted I try, which came out as a flat white/latte. Good job on it though... There was a bit of confusion with money halfway through the stay, and was handed back 200RMB by a staff member which I later had to return... Not sure what was going on there, but no harm. The hotel did not have a sauna or massage facility as advertised on Agoda, but Rina, who was away at the time and communicated with me through WhatsApp said the staff could take me to a nearby place, which I did not take them up on. Rina was also helpful in recommending a place for dinner which was some of the best food I had while in the area. Overall the hotel was comfortable and in a good location in Shuhe, however I did feel a bit misled about the facilities, and was confused why they would use different photos and have an inaccurate location on the map.

It was end of Jan 2014 and cold. We reached hotel in the middle of the night, nearly freak out as surroundings areas was dark, cold with not much light around and seems unsecure, but all this worries were clear. They were expecting us with heated mattress and room heater was on before we reach and even served us with hot teas. How thoughtful, thumbs up! I loved the Mountain View Room we stayed for 6 nights. Big cozy rooms with bathtub (my favorite) and own balcony with wonderful morning view of Dragon Snow Mountain and surroundings areas, plus heated mattress just nice for winter and great Wifi connections, the only down side is not much light in the room. Housekeeping was no issue, our rooms are cleaned with new towels given every day. We really like this place, really make us feel at home. One of the best and never expected, we were invited for BBQ at the garden with other guest on the Eve of Chinese New Year with everything free, provided by Bruce and his team. That night we exchanged experience of areas we visited with other guests and even grouped for a trip to Dragon Snow Mountain the next day. As we always wake up late, we never joined the breakfast, but were always served with some hot teas and bites free of charge. Every night one the staff will stay awake till every guest back and lock the main door. Once again we really enjoyed our stay with friendly and homely service provided by Bruce, his wife and his team of efficient staff and will be back again on our next visit to Lijiang. This hotel is very very nice and has a great view of the snow mountain. The rooms are extremely nice and have all the amenities of any 4 or 5 star hotel. The pool is very clean and comfortable. Breakfast and the restaurant in general are really good and have a variety of local and foreign foods. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and for the most part all spoke English. The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Golf course is close to this hotel and is a great course.

this hostel is run by ex-Banyan Tree hotel staff, as far as I know, room facilities, bed, sheets, cover etc are in same standard as Banyan Tree Hotel. Staff serve you with care to make sure you feel like home, this is even better than 5 star hotel, so if I ever go again, I will select this hostel. Excellent experience. Only down side iis location, although is only 15mins walk to ShuHe 束河 ancient town, but it's about 10-15 mins of drive from Dayan 大研 Lijiang Main ancient town.
