I'm satisfied with overall. Just the distance from the hotel to the nearest train station took a little bit time to reach. The staff's service was excellent, the staff attended our complaint just within 5 mins and resolved our issue.

Cool Location”
Clean, reasonably priced hotel located in an old warehouse district. Many of the old buildings have been turned into F&B establishments and bars, including the very cool Taikoo waterfront. Minor quibbles - it is not very near to the subway (~15mins walk) which is not great in the rainy season, and also the rooms have no fridge.

Another visit still happy”
I have now stayed in this hotel many times in the last three years and always find it a satisfying experience. Front desk always has at least one English speaker. My Agoda bookings are always found and honoured without trying added extras. Wifi in my room without cost,quiet location and atmosphere, the wharf around the corner has food and drink into early morning.Taxis know the address without having to look it up. My last stay I even received a room upgrade which was a nice feeling although I didnt need the extra room and TV, desk,lounge mini bar etc as I come for work not play and the bedroom was big enough with desk, internet and wifi for me to work and be able to open my three large bags without having to put them on the bed or walk over them on the floor. The bed is big and comfortable, linen and towels clean and in good condition, bathroom great with quick hot water with toiletries provided. So long as the tarrif remains the same I will book myself and my staff there again. The staff are helpful when asked for something and always have a smile and greeting in passing.

It is a very nice experience to stay in this Hotel. The newly renovated room is very clean and new. The location of Hotel is great, it is nearby the MRT station, Shopping Mall, Restaurant, River side..overall a nice place to stay. However, the price seems to be a little bit expensive

Not for the western business traveler”
The hotel is clean, staff friendly and helpful. A few staff could speak good english. The breakfeast buffet had a nice mix of Asian and Western food, along with fruits, bread, and excellent fresh brewed coffee. The bad.... anything related to the internet, forget about it. The internet is slower tha dial-up. Forget downloading documents. Forget about using Skype. Anything Google related is blocked, but many other sites are blocked as well. Most major Western hotel chains in the city don't have the above mentioned issues. The beds are straight up Asian style... like a slab of concrete. The rooms are clean and decorated well. Well, not as nice as the Western chain hotels, but nice. For the Western business traveler, stay at the Westin.

Convenient location, good beds, bad food”
The hotel is well located, "close" to the metro -10/12 minute walk. Staff is not very friendly but effective. Food is absolutely terrible, I never had such a disgusting breakfast. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom is surprisingly nice for a mid-range hotel like this one, with a nice rain shower. No fridge. Air con in chinese which makes it impossible to operate, so temp was stuck at 26C. Overall, OK.

Gondola Taikoo Hotel Guangzhou experience”
We were given the superior twin room that has wifi. But the wifi was weak and most of the time I was not able to access the server even though it was connected to my cellphone and laptop. The staff at the reception refused to give me a LAN cable and insisted that resetting the wifi will work. The drainage in the shower was choked and the toilet floor was flooded despite my complaints. The shower head broke and the toilet flush was not working, but they rectify the problems immediately. The housekeeper was discreet and pleasant.

Far away from MTR(10 mins walk) and no river view”
Hotel is located far away from river that it is impossible to have river view that the description is quite tricky. The window is so old and cannot be close. The building is under renovation that it should be keeping on till the end of the year

Electrical supply shut down for 1 hour twice during stay due to checks by authority, however they did inform when we are there. The room is also the last room along the corridor beside the cargo services lift. The staffs are a mix of good and average.

The shower head broke, the toilet bowl was choked, and the shower bath was flooded. Otherwise, the location was very good and within walking distance to shops and restaurants, the metro station and bus stops.

Standard room not acceptable”
Mattress is too hard, unable to sleep. Front desk said only superior/specially selected room provides 2 hard+soft mattress. Room temperature overall is not cold enough, especially when sleeping.
