Find hotels near Haizhu District in Guangzhou, China

i visit guangzhou almost once a month, and i always stay in this hotel. this is my 2nd review. location the location is not at the center of guangzhou (like tianhe, etc), and is in the haizhu district. but i still love the location since it is surrounded by lots of restaurants and shopping places, and is not in a touristy area. mcdonalds and kfc are right beside the hotel. and there are several chinese restaurants worth a try. skip the breakfast buffet and have dimsum and tea at the chinese restaurant beside the hotel (near 7-11). another must-try is the chinese hot-pot restaurant near mcdonalds. you will need to wait for a table though if you want to eat at peak hours. with the newly constructed metro station right below the hotel, it is now very easy to go around guangzhou. i always take the metro from the airport to the hotel, even if my flight arrives at 10pm. way cheaper and faster than taking a taxi. the airport express bus (#3 if i'm not mistaken) also drops off / picks up passengers near the hotel. rooms the rooms here are hit-and-miss. if you get the newly renovated rooms, you are in luck because they are really nice. the interiors are modern and very clean. can be compared to other more expensive 4-star hotels in guangzhou. do not be tempted though with their cheapest rooms that go on sale at agoda. i got a room for 300-350rmb only, but they gave me their oldest room - dingy and musty - with very old furnishings. tiles are broken and dirty, clogged shower heads, moldy bathtubs, dirty ceilings, old toilet seats, you name it. i just took this in stride since i know i got the room at a promo rate. good thing i stayed only one night, and that it only happened to me once. but next time i will definitely get the upgraded room. value this hotel for me still ranks as one of the best value-for-money hotels in guangzhou. that single incident will not dissuade me from staying in this hotel again.

You can't measure hotels in china (in lower price categories) the same as you do in the west. The NPR Hotel is most importantly clean the staff at the reception know a few words of english and everything in the room works. The mini bar was empty but the shops around the hotel are way cheaper anyways. The breakfast buffet is small but enough to have variety every day. The hotel facility looks quite nice. The location of the Hotel is quite good in Haizhu as the the walking distance to the city is only like 5km so one not so lazy person could also visit everything by foot. All in all in my eyes a dream come true hotel in Guangzhou for around 60€/$ a night

It was a nice Hotel. The room size was good. The staff was the most friendly of all 4 star hotels I've stayed in. They went out of their way to meet all your requirements. The location is only about 15 minutes drive from the canton fair. Internet was however short of my expectations. I had received about 200 MB of emails during the fair. The internet was extremely slow. Any email with attachment just wouldn't download. I had to go to Pacific Coffee to download mails. Whatsapp and other msgn apps worked just fine. No Indian food if you are travelling from that part of the world.

Big rooms, everyday cleaning services provided. Water, toiletries and fruits were brought to the room on the everyday basis. In the room available versatile phone USB charger. Also available adapted socket for USB cables. Good Wi-Fi is still available only at the reception floor. In rooms Wi-Fi supports only text messaging in messengers. Food on breakfasts is primarily Chinese cuisine, but Europeans can still find something to eat :) There is free shuttle bus available for the period of the trade show (two in the morning to the exhibition and two in the evening from the exhibition). What we didn't like is location and transportation facilities from the hotel. There are not so many places to eat nearby the hotel, so you need to go the city center, but it's not easy to find any taxi and the subway station is on the opposite river bank, so you need to go for approx. 10-15 min to the nearest subway.

The hotel is located just inside the gated area of the university campus and that created some confusion for cab drivers trying to find or access the hotel entrance. Just motion the driver to keep going! The hotel has 5 star facilities and is super modern and elegant. But it is not an "international hotel" because the front lobby check in and concierge staff have ZERO knowledge of the English language. Thank goodness for Google translator (if you are using a VPN.) The large and beautiful "Western" restaurant on the ground floor has a wonderful buffet breakfast with lots of variety to suit anyone's taste, including fresh cooked eggs, any style. It is also good for dinner. However, skip the Chinese restaurant on the second floor. I was there with a local Chinese man who agreed that it was way over priced, food was not good and it did not feel like a comfortable Chinese restaurant. The carpet in the room was dirty and no furniture with clothing drawers for a multi-day stay.

I stayed here during the Canton Fair. The Shangri-la it isn't but it is very well priced and it's location is excellent. It is just a short walk to the Lujiang metro station which you only need one line change to get to from the airport and it is on the same line as the Canton Fair. It is surrounded by 100s of restaurants from street food vendors through to good quality restaurants. It is also only a short walk to a good quality shopping district and just beyond that it the Pearl river if you want to go for a relaxing and scenic walk. The staff are awesome and they were really helpful.

i arrived on a thursday night for an 8 night stay. the reception was clean and professional. the room was very clean and modern. the bathroom a pleasure to use. 2 restaurants are available in the hotel and stepping out of the hotel there is a major intersection with a large variety of shopping and dining available. the location appears to be in the heart of a local district. i did not see any other westerners during my stay. this has its pro's and con's but overall, for a truly local stay, the sam q hotel will suit most people looking for comfortable and clean accommodation.

It's difficult to find for the first time. Many taxi drivers don't know the road name and hotel name. Agoda should provide local language of the hotel name and address. But since you get the name card from the hotel, there would be no problem. We like the room but the towels are too old. The reception service is poor and it's located on the next buiding. Guests on service apartment cannot use pool or fitness room.

It is not located in tourism area, but very close (~100m) to metro station(jiangnanxi). only two stops to Haizu square (CNY2). Few resto near the hotel,the good one next to the hotel. It is clean. Staff only speak mandarin,but they use the translation apps to communicate, appreciate their effort. Would recommend this hotel if you only need to sleep. compare to other hotels in that level/price, this hotel is much better.

I like this hotel as it is not far away from old town center. Walking distance from Sha Yuan metro station where Rock Square (乐峰) shopping mall is, plenty amenities (cheap or good eating houses) are available around this hotel including 花城往事 food street. All the rooms are on level 2 so that there is no lift. You can expect standard supply in room as a 7 days chain hotel, no bottled water though. Considering the location, the price is really not expensive. As all budget hotel in China, understanding mandarin is essential for smooth check-in process.

The room is clean and tidy with kitchen, refrigerator and washing machine. Actually this is an apartment for rent but the building use as a hotel. It will be hard to find since this building has no front reception as another hotel. The building is above the China Merchant Bank but you have to contact the office opposite the building first to get the key. Over all this room is great. The room has a little bit of river view.

it's clean and new. especially convenient when going to canton fair as there are 4 buses available every morning. however there is a charge of 20rmb for return trip, so it's costly compared to other jinjiang hotels which offer free shuttle bus. there is a kfc and shopping mall within 5 minutes walk from the hotel, and it is convenient to buy snacks and drinks from the 7-11 opposite. the tv is new with a lot of cable channels, and the bed is soft and comfortable, unlike most china hotels' hard beds. highly recommended.

There are 2 Hua Hai's -- Building A is the Navy Hua Hai, 4-star and newly renovated. THIS, however, is the 3-star 'needs renovation' @ Building B. I booked this one by mistake (150RMB cheaper per night compared to Bldg-A) but turns out not be a big deal. Yes - the hotel is dated and needs renovation, but bedsheets and showers are clean and everything is functional. I'm never in the hotel room much so a lesser quality hotel generally doesn't bother me. A small tip to housekeeping goes a long way: extra towels, extra toilet paper, or toiletries. Front desk and housekeeping staff are generally friendly though are limited in English speaking. But overall, there were no overall communication issues. Tip: There's a really legit body or foot massage place on the 6th Floor in Buidling A. Reasonably priced and excellent service. For the price, you really can't beat the excellent location of this hotel. There are plenty of local flavors and restaurants up-and-down the world. A very short walk to the Subway station, and very close to various bus stops. It is also located right next to the hottest new building & district in town, the JiangNan West..

My husband and I stayed here just one night, so we had a short stay. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The hotel is nice, although the room we stayed in seemed quite dated and small. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure great in the shower, however. We didn't use any of the hotel restaurants or amenities, although there are quite a few restaurants and shops. The gardens are also beautiful. The area has tons of good restaurant options, both western and local. One of our favorites is Tekila, just down the street on Jian She Liu Ma Lu (half price fajitas on Wednesday!). The hotel also has a bus service that leaves from the parking lot headed to the Hong Kong airport (stopping at the border to clear customs). It is a cheap and convenient way to get to HK.
