Close to the subway station and Temple of Heaven. There are convenience stores nearby. Friendly staff

Great Place”
The Happy Dragon hotel was one of the highlights of my stay. The staff were super friendly and helpful and you can conveniently book tours right there in their lobby. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They also have a restaurant which makes delicious food and tasty drinks at a reasonable price. The hotel is situated very close to a subway station which makes it very easy to travel and you can walk to the Temple of Heaven. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay with them again.

Great Hotel in Great Location but had issue with cleanliness”
This hotel everything is great (Location, transportation, service from staff) except for cleanliness in room. The floor is not wipe up clean properly, there still some oil in floor, corner of window have a lot of dust, bed cover not changed properly everyday. The most worst experience during my stay is air in room. I notice there is bad air from cooking kitchen coming into my room through bathroom ventilation and AC central. Please fix these issue in room 407, so another guest will not have this issue.

Good hotel for the budget”
The hotel is quite old as can be easily seen from the dirty furniture and old carpets, but housekeeping ensures the rooms and the lobby remain as clean as possible. Breakfast is not bad. The staff are nice and know how to speak enough english to give a helping hand to any foreigner. The hotel is accessible because it's just a few minutes away from the subway and multiple bus stops. It's right across the Temple of Heaven and the hotel's within the 3rd ring of the city, meaning it's quite near the city center so it's close to a lot of the famous tourist spots. There are small convenience stores near the hotel but the closest food place can be at least 15 minutes walk away from the lobby. Better to just avail of the free breakfast every morning and to eat in another area before heading back to the hotel to sleep. Overall, the hotel's alright. Maybe there are others at this price point that can be better but this one's good enough.

Cheap, location was just ok, needs better facilities”
Staff were nice. Food was good, but improvement may be needed for facilities and perhaps renovation. But I think overall, it’s a good place to stay

Above average”
Building is located in a one way street. Having difficulty to find this place at night due to the light was off so have to get the taxi driver to drive thru the street again. Staff are friendly and helpful but building need some TLC as its rather old. Location is slightly off the central. Although subway entrance is not far but still inconvenient to transfer to other statios. Breakfast is simple with limited choices. Toasted bread was served cold. Believe it was prepared. Was an ok place to stay if you don't mind the above.

Excellent Base”
We used Beijing as stopovers on our journey to and from London, UK to Auckland, New Zealand, with RJ Brown Hotel as our base on both journeys, staying 2 nights for each visit. The rooms were comfortable and clean and had good bathrooms with plenty of hot water. The staff were brilliant. Reception and Dining spoke good english and were able to react to and supply all our requirements. Extras such as Great Wall Trip and Airport Transfers were great value and much cheaper that we priced on the internet before travelling. If we come to Beijing again, this is where we will stay. The hotel is in the centre of what will become the main cultural centre with the National Theatre and Ballet Theatre next door, so could get busier. It is a distance from the City Centre, but walkable and using the subway system helped get us around more quickly.

Very good service, nice hotel”
I really felt welcome at this hotel. The staff spoke good English, and they even helped me get back my t-shirt which I ment to hang out of the window to dry, and dropped by mistake. The room was quite large and had everything you need: TV, good air conditioning, even a tea maker. It was also quiet enough. I'd not hesitate to stay at the RJ Brown Hotel again. The one thing I didn't like so much about the hotel was that the subway is too far away to walk, so you need to take a bus (one stop to the subway). If you decide on staying at the RJ Brown Hotel, make sure to print out a bus schedule/map prior to your trip and bring it with you. It will help a lot.

Greatly impressed”
Not being the most modern hotel in China, it doesn't prevent it from being greatly satisfactory. Location is centric. Close to hutongs full of street food and next to the Temple of Heaven. Even Tiananmen Square is not too far if you don't mind walking a bit. The staff at the hotel was really helpful when we booked tickets for the city attractions (thanks Jack, Laurel and co.!). The bar has reasonable prices and a good selection of imported beers. We booked 3 rooms and they were clean and spacious. We'd totally come back.

Memorable Stay and Journey”
The staff are really awesome, special thanks to Anita & Julie. I really appreciate their help and advise on the trips. They are truly good in providing services. You may buy/book the Great Wall tours from them directly as that's I found its affordable and no forced shopping's stop. English is difficult in China, however Anita is helpful on that. You may check with her directly and ask some advise for subway trip and bargain tips for street shopping. The hotel is walking to temple of Haven (Top's 10 things to do in Beijing) and Qian Men Street (Shopping, Dining & Leisure (Madame Tussauds Beijing). I and my friend really enjoy the stay in this hotel and truly appreciated the services that provided to us. On top of that, they arranged a dim sum party & new year party as well at their simple bar & restaurant. Thanks!

Highly Recommended ”
The staff here are fantastic, They were very helpful, they helped book taxis, gave good advice and were friendly. We were allowed an early check in., which was great after a long and difficult train trip. The location is great for the Temple of Heaven, but not that great in terms of subway access or the other major attractions. Good value compared to other options in Beijing, but not compared to other places in China.

nice medium/small budget hotel”
We took the cheapest double bedroom from the hotel. The staff was very nice and even though the room had some problems (broken shower handle and a little-too-dusty floor) they fixed everything immediately. Also, we arrived late for breakfast but they patiently waited for us. They speak English. So all in all, given the fact that it's at 15 minutes taxi from the railway station and the forbidden city, right next to the temple of heaven, and at 500m from the bank, the hotel is really worth it.

very worth stay, good service.”
We are welcomed by friendly staff peter & anita. They can speak english. Hotel near to Temple of Heaven (200m) and less than 10 minutes walking distance. Distance to forbidden city around 3km. We took taxi with fee cny18 by meter. Muslim food just behind the hotel. Nearby shanghai railway station.

Beijing Adventure”
The hotel is near the Temple of Heaven, local shops and theaters. There is a dumpling shop beside the hotel, which is very delicious and affordable at the same time. The room has free personal hygiene kit, slippers and free tea. The restaurant offers good food and drink. Overall, our stay is great except for poor to fair internet connection.

Excellent”
Loved my stay here! Staff were extremely helpful and from the morning till 11 spoke very good english! Their night staff however does not so if your mandarin isn't too great, you'll want to take care of things in the morning. The location is nice as it's right next to the Temple of Heaven which is certainly a must see for any traveler. The only downside is that it's about a 15-20 minute walk from the subway, which when you have luggage with you isn't particularly fun, but certainly manageable. The cleanliness level is good for the price you're paying. It is a budget hotel, but the floors and sheets are clean. I would certainly stay here again!!
