The breakfast was super and it offers western style dishes and Chinese breakfast as well. It was a great place to stay. The neighborhood was rather quiet with no big streets. The hotel decor was simple and well-chosen.

Best hotel option in the Embassy area”
The Holiday Inn Express Beijing Dongzhimen is the best hotel option for you while in the Embassy area. It is a great location with lots of restaurants around, a convenience store, and very walkable pedestrian lanes. The check in and check out was quick with friendly and English-speaking front desk staff/. The room is clean, the bed and pillows are super comfortable and the hot shower was great! They have wifi which works well. The free breakfast was okay. Overall, a really great hotel for you to try.

Quiet, Friendly, more westernised area”
It is located on a small street, away from city noise. Within 100m, you can find many western restaurants together with different categories of local restaurants. 15mn on foot, you arrive in Sanlitun. Between 8-10am on business days, hotel offers shuttle bus every 30mn to subway Dongzhimen and Dongsishitiao. But it takes only 20mn on foot to go there. The breakfast buffet does not offer a fantastic choice, but you have all the basic internal breakfast buffet choices. My son is severely allergic to peanut. The chef guarantees that in all sections except for bread/pastries section, they do not use any peanuts or peanut oil. Bread/pastries section he could not guarantee peanut trace free. My son never had any problem during 8 days breakfast there. In Beijing, it’s very difficult for us to find local restaurants who do not use peanut oil. We had to go to western restaurants most of the time. Hôtel room is quite small, but neat and clean. There is an empty mini fridge.

Hotel is new - probably no more than few years. At the reception no problems with English :) Great breakfast (a lot of choices, everyday something new). About 12 walk to subway but a lot of restaurants near hotel and about 5 min to Sanlitun (area with restaurants,shops, bars) Very nice and clean rooms We spend there 5 night - I would recommend it to my friends :)

Our stay exceeded our expectations. The staff are extremely friendly and professionally, the girl that checked us in - her surname is definitely Tan, and English name, maybe Vicky?.. Anyhow, she was very welcoming and friendly when we arrived, and all the staff were very nice. The location is great, I used to live in Dongzhimen so know the area very well. Room is nice, and very clean with good facilities. Highly recommend.

10 stars for the friendly staff, they even help me to book my train ticket to other province. Breakfast is excellent. Walking distance to Sanlitun. The hotel with a gym and a free massage chair. Will stay again at this hotel for my next visit to Beijing.

The hotel was clean and nice,the breakfast was many choice and delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Only the location is a bit far from the Dongzhimen subway (walking around 15min) but it is ok if you take the cab.

Had a fantastic 4 night stay at this hotel - staff were friendly, room was very clean with good facilities and a comfortable bed, free buffet breakfast was a nice bonus with a good spread of options. Free welcome drinks and snacks, as well as a selection of firm/soft pillows was a nice touch. There is also a tasty and reasonably priced Peking Duck restaurant right across the road. The only downside would be the hotel is a bit of a walk to the subway station (just over 1km to Dong Si Shi Tiao station on Line 2) which can be a bit tiring after a long day of sightseeing, but I still can't recommend this hotel enough!
