Find hotels in China University of Geosciences

after staying at several hotels in beijing, we have decided that this is the best one for value for money. also customer service in china is nothing to shout about, however every member of staff at this hotel was friendly, kind and helpful. not once did anyone make us feel like we were unwelcome (as many hotels in china have). it has several large buildings all with a number of functions. the hotel was very busy and i think they accept a lot of chinese group tours as we kept seeing bus load after bus load. the room was clean and large and the bathroom was also very good. the shower was fantastic. the housekeeping service went out of thier way to help us and keep everything tidy - they made a huge effort to try to understand us. they also gave us a daily newspaper in english which was a bonus! the pool can be used by everyone - not just people staying at the hotel. it wasn't really a relaxing pool but more of one to burn off those calories. there was not a single bikini in sight, and everyone had to wear a swimming cap. and you had to pay - not much. there is also a bowling alley which was good and that too costs extra, but it's still a fraction of the price of the uk! the staff there were very helpful too. we ate serveral of the restuarant - the western one was terrible (staff were fantastic, but the food was awful!) i think they were microwave meals! the other restuarants were ok, but we have eaten much nicer food in china - there are plenty of restuarants near the entrance to the hotel that do better food. would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit beijing - good value for money...much better than anywhere else in beijing (well, that we found anyway!).

we travelled to china for business and arrived at the hotel late at night. we were still greeted by happy faces who just wanted to make our check-in as easy and simple and fast as possible so that we could get settled. the room is just lovely - large enough but not too large - beautifully decorated and well maintained. one of the reasons i chose the hotel (beyond those others given by trip advisor reviews) was that one of the windows opens and one doesn't need to rely on the air conditioning. that's been great already last night as it just gave a little fresh (well as fresh as beijing air can be) to the room. the pool is amazing. the gym - well equipped. there is a steam room and sauna. this is just great if you're travelling on business and want a daily unwind. the bathroom is amazing and no trouble is spared - all amenities are here with thoughtful little packs for sewing, manicare, toothbrushes and everything else you could think of. today, before a business meeting, i had my boots polished by the complimentary shoe-shine. they came back sparkling. the bed is very comfortable and the choice of pillows makes sure that you've got one that you are comfortable with. the rate was fabulous (thanks agoda) and i enjoyed the free internet access because i paid a little extra for an executive floor - really worth the upgrade. the club floors also entitle you to some meeting spaces and food / drinks complementary on the 28th floor. the location is great - only a short distance walk from a subway station.

We were traveling with our 10-month baby for the first time in Beijing and was looking for a hotel nearby Qinghua University. We were impressed with this hotel because of its affordability, luxurious comfort, accomodating and attentive staff and service, and the variety of gourmet food in the restaurant as well as its in-room breakfast for saving time. The only thing to consider is that the location of the hotel is about 10-15 mins taxi ride from the main area so it is not very accessible by walking but its quality and staff's attentive service in providing taxi service outweighs this small hassle. There is actually a hotel shuttle service for entering the central area in early mornings which I believe is for business travelers and it would be great if the hotel could provide more service times for other travelers too.

i have stayed all over china, upscale and down. for the price, this is by far a away the best deal in beijing. the two-level suites are roomy, comfortable, modernly decorated, with a great view of the city (on one side) and the mountains (on the other). the staff is very professional, restaurants give a great dining experience, and, depending on your needs, it is in a great location (haidian, the university section of beijing, science park). i worked long days and thoroughly enjoyed coming "home" to ariva.

I chose the Liaoning Hotel as I had a meeting in Tsinghua University. The price offered on agoda was excellent for a lesser hotel and when i got there i was amazed at the room size, quality and finish. I ordered room service and got excellent fish and chips after midnight. The hotel is modern, spacious and the room impeccable. The staff are friendly and do their best to assist. I will certainly stay again for meetings in Tsinghua, where i walked to my destination building in 20 minutes from the hotel along a straight line.

The hotel is very nice and clean with a comfortable hot spring. But the check-in staff makes a terrible mistake. I confirmed with him several times that if my reservation is without breakfast. He said, "if you want to have breakfast at the hotel, you need to pay an extra fee." And when I check the reservation on agoda, I found that my reservation included the breakfast.

Wenjin is conveniently located within walking distance from Tsinghua University and the Wudaokou subway station. The hotel well meets the expectations of an international traveller. The executive floors have a separate lounge for complimentary breakfast and "happy hour". The breakfast is nice but the happy hour less happy than could be expected, offering a very limited menu of a few beers, sodas, and cookies.

I have stayed here twice in the past month. 5/5 primarily for the location (3 mins walk to the nearest subway station-lines 10 and 13) and value for money. Very near the university district and ideal if you are planning to spend alotof time in the northwestern or central part of Beijing (it is less than half an hour to Nanluoguxiang by subway too, with only 1 change on the subway). Don't expect it to be at the doorstep of the Forbidden City. Beijing is a massive city and people underestimate the distances between destinations. The room is very comfortable, spacious and had every amenity I needed. Heating/cooling seems to be controlled centrally. It seemed adequately warm in winter but abit too warm in the afternoon. Positives - there are numerous power points in the room which can accommodate UK and Australian plugs. Some reviews mentioned internet wasn't working/slow but I had no issues using the LAN and Wifi on the 6th floor. Coffee in the deli at the lobby was not exorbitant, service at the 24 hours cafe on the ground floor was friendly (which is not what one always experiences in Beijing), food average but adequate. Also tried the Japanese restaurant on the 1st floor which had some good lunch sets. There is a busy street to the right of the hotel facing the subway station with plenty of eateries (24 hours KFC), local foods, bakeries and at least 3 well equipped convenience stores.

hotel is conveniently located near peking university and highly recommended for parents visiting their children studying there. there is a subway station that is less than 10 mins walk away that provides connectivity. hotel and its amenities are modern and clean though the pillows could be better (they are too soft) and the quilt blanket is a bit too warm. still, the room is decent sized the other is wifi connection. i brough my ipad and not laptop so i needed a router for my room but they were all loaned out. went down to use the free wifi at the lobby and was quickly connected. however, none of my whatsapp messages were sent. that's connectivity indeed!!

I stayed four nights and might return if I wanted a quiet place close to Renmin University. For visiting Renmin U, it's a great place. The links to other districts are convenient. Disadvantages are that the neighbourhood is ugly beyond the hotel grounds, especially in winter. I also found the service attitude lacking in courtesy. The staff are not trained well as they are in international chain hotels. I didn't even get a thank you or goodbye when I checked out, and this was a general shortcoming. More than one staff person had the chance to look me in the eye and say thank you or goodbye but instead they treated me like I was serving them. For this reason I am unlikely to stay again. It's too insulting. However I might visit just to use the pool. To my surprise, I had to pay 90 percent of the outsider's fee for using the pool even though I was staying at the hotel (not in the VIP building). I have never had to pay to use a pool while staying at a hotel before. Another annoyance, though small, is that the toilet paper is very poor quality. I don't mind coarse paper but paper that won't tear off into squares is troublesome. Also, the in-rrom safe was difficult to operate and should be better in a four-star hotel. On the plus side, the hotel has its own drinking water and it was nice not to have to worry about that (I drink a lot of water).

the location of the hotel is excellent. it is about 10 minutes walking distance from bus. you can get a taxi to the t station in $10. the room is fine but the bathroom is outdated. the tub is small even for 5 feet tall woman. the plug to the bath tub was stuck and i had to call the front desk to have someone to remove it. the electric teapot is outdated and has water stain at the bottom. called the front desk to replace one but they told me that all the teapots are the same.

The location is great. There is a bus stop right outside of the alley where this hotel is located. It would take you to either Yuanmingyuan or Yiheyuan with 1 stop, and 2 stops to Qinghua U. or Beijing U. The subway station is also within one stop by bus. The flowery trees in the traditional Chinese garden, the interior Chinese decor, and the glass bridge over the goldfish pond are all lovely. Best of all, the internet is working properly; very unusual for a Chinese hotel. The breakfast includes many courses with a reasonable price of RMB$30 per person. All in all, this hotel could have deserved a 5-star, if its service didn’t make me miserable. When I was having my breakfast, an attendant claimed that I was not the guest in my room, even though my room key holder has my room number on it. She said the guest was supposed to be a foreign male. I told her the front desk has the copy of my travel document on file, but she wouldn’t give up harassing me. Probably in her eyes, a female native Chinese speaker could not possibly come from overseas alone. Were you kidding me? Unfortunately, I booked with this hotel for 4 non-consecutive stays, so my misery didn’t just end with this one case. Keep reading my other reviews… 这酒店什么都好就是服务太差，我用早餐的时候居然有一个服务生一再来骚扰我，说我不是该店的旅客，说我的房间应该是一个外国男人，我的确是来自海外，但不是洋人，我的手上拿着房门钥匙套上有我房间的号码，酒店前台也有我的旅行证件影印本，凭什么一再来骚扰我？不幸我在这酒店订了4天，后面几天还有更糟的遭遇…..

My stay at GreenTree was fine. My choice was mainly based on location and price, since I needed a hotel in the Haidian District near Wudaokou and the major universities in Beijing. The price was very good, and the room was very clean, the bed comfortable. I liked how they provided bottles of fresh water and green tea packets so I could drink tea. I had to check out at 5am, and the process was very quick. I would stay here again.
