Hotels near Dongdamen Night Market

The rooms are a little dated (design and equipments), but they are very spacious, clean and bright. It would be good if they upgraded their toilets and give better pillows. Their gym, table tennis, pool tables...are all very good facilities for families to hang out together. The hotel grounds is huge and you can just take an evening walk there after gouging yourself with delicious food from the night market. The staff is helpful on many occasions.

Hotel is approximate 5mins walking distance to the train station and bus terminal. Convenient to take bus to Taroko, buses also available to the night market. Hotel staff is very friendly, always putting a smile a greet you when you are heading out or returning. Hotel room is spacious and clean. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Would recommend and return to stay there if I'm visiting again.

Comfortable living experience with plenty room facilities. You may bring your own slippers if you want to wear a tough one. The staffs are very nice and competent to provide help. A drinking machine is provided in each floor with convenience. But I did have not try the gym and leisure facilities in the hotel, haha. Bike borrowing service during daytime also includes helmet and bright body wear. Ususally it needs to take a taxi ride to travel to the bustle night market.

Walking distance to and from Hualien Station. Just look out for a bright yellow building which is very visible from the station. Staff service is impeccable and exemplary. They would drop whatever they are going just to greet you aloud, like Japanese style. Close to dining options too though bit far to night market. But no fault of theirs. 1st hotel we come across that serves supper and its so sumptious with noodles, porridge etc which can be considered as late dinner. Lots of variety for buffet breakfast too. You will be spoilt for choice. They tried to arrange a Taroka Gorge day trip for us. But travel agency advised not to go there as they are falling rocks and stones. Instead we spend time in Hualien city instead. We book a business double but they upgraded us free to a quad room with 2 queen beds equipped with a bath tub. 2 thumbs up to them. Only issue is sound proofing can be better. You can literally hear conversations when people talk and pass by the corridor outside.

As a solo traveler, I asked them for a suggestion to go to the attractions, their answer is always Taxi and Taxi. But after I went to the Tourist Information Centre, they told me to take 301 bus from the bus stop in front of the Tourist Centre at Hualien Train Station to go to attractions like Dongdamen Night Market and also Starbucks with Container design. Also, you may rent a bicycle or electrical motorcycle (no license needed.) Hope these help the others!

V clean spacious room and toilet. Water shower current is strong. We booked early to enjoy affordable rates. You can walk (15 mins) or take taxi (we did on our way back for NTD100) to Dongdamen Night Market. You get the same spread of food selection there just like any night market (not great but passable). There's not much to see and shop at the nearest shopping street (the famousmeat bun is over rated here). Good for stopover for a night visiting 太鲁格Taroko Gorge.

Our stay at Fullon Hotel Hualien was during the time the 6.4-scale earth quake landed in Hualien City. If we had the foresight, we probably wouldn't be in Hualien at that time, but we were there, and were so glad that we stayed at Fullon Hotel! During our last night of planned stay there, we were jolted awake by the quake around midnight in our 10th floor room. The first strong quake was followed by significant after shocks. The hotel staff soon started knocking on the door to help us evacuate to the 1st floor lobby. There, we found bundles of towels/blankets and cases of bottled water to help settling the guests. The staff even prepared a van to drive guests who felt the need to be on an open space to the adjacent open lot. At 6:30 am, the buffet breakfast was ready, and was as sumptuous as the day before, prepared by workers who came to work on time regardless their own need at home! Such a well-built hotel, with dedicated and attentive staff! Where else would we have rather be!!

Only stayed here as part of longer trip in Taiwan, but enjoyed it thoroughly. Our room had a balcony, which is nice as you usually have to pay extra to get that kind of room in other parts of the country. The room was to a high standard, the bed was comfortable and bathroom clean. Although I did not use it, I was impressed by the laundry area, which was free. I also liked the library, thought that was a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and helped us book onto the right type of tour we were thinking of, for Taroko National Park. The hotel is very close to the famous Dongdamen Night Market, and on check-in the hotel staff provided an easy-to-read map to help us explore Hualien. I would definitely stay here again.

It's a new property so everything is generally clean. I love the shower with multiple jets. Bed was soft and comfortable. My partner felt it was a bit too soft but it was ok for me. It was a very short walk from Hualien station. Taxi ride to Dongdamen night market cost only about NT$130. The service from one of the staff was exceptional. Would return to this hotel the next time I visit Hualien.

The room is clean, and very accessible to anywhere. The staffs are friendly and accommodating, although very few dont know english. Theres a delicious fried chicken stall across. Must try streetfood. The hotel is 15mins walk from hualien stn, passing through residential area. 20mins walk if through the park/main st. If you like walking, you can go to beibin/nanbin park and dongdamen night market. I like the hotel. Will stay here again if we will visit hualien again.

My friend and I were looking for a hotel very close to the train station, and this was a 5 minute walk from Hualien train station. The buses that go to the Taroko Gorge are right next to the train station so it was very convenient. The building itself was a bit older and though it was a four star, felt more like a 3 to 3.5 star hotel because of the design and decor (beds and pillows were fine). The breakfast wasn't very good, but it wasn't as terrible as some reviewers said. Also, there was only free wifi in the lobby. However, the hotel staff were so friendly and considerate that they made up for whatever lacked in the building. When we wanted to go to the night market, they gave us suggestions for good eats and offered to drive us there with the hotel car (though we had to cab back). It was the same when we checked out and were going to the train station. Even though it was very close, they still drove us there. Additionally, the hotel offers free bike rental for customers until 6pm.

Leaf inn is a beautifully refurbished building with aesthetically pleasing decor. Each room is uniquely designed. The room that I was in had tiny figurines and thought provoking phrases (in Chinese, so it was mostly lost on me). Breakfast is served at the cafe and it was lovely. There was a nice designer market the weekend I was there with some live singing. It's not in Hualien town centre, but it's a simple taxi ride away. The staff will help you call a taxi to anywhere you want to go.

being near to the hualien train station means that it is slight far from the city. we walked to zhi qiang night market, which took about 25 mins. suggest to take cab instead, which cost us 150 twd to travel back from zhi qiang night market to classic hotel. got a free upgrade, probably due to off-peak season. east to locate and there are some great food haunts around the hotel. hotel does liase to provide day tour to taroko. we got a contact from our friends who visited previously, and went with the cab tour instead of the bus tour. breakfast was only okay, slightly below satisfaction.

Everything is great at this hotel! Can rent bikes for free to go around Hualien city, a route along the Pacific Ocean is just in front of the hotel, though a section of the bikeway down the south is in reconstruction. It's less than 10mins cycling from the night market and would take 20mins to walk. Room is great, comfortable and nicely equipped with a Seaview balcony. Perfect for those who would do a bit of cycling during your trip.

Very good location, short walking distance to both Dongdamen Night Market and Hualien Golden Triangle. Great service from hotel staff. It was raining heavily when we arrived Hualien and the hotel shuttle service was there to meet us, provided us with umbrellas. The driver then helped load our luggages into the van while soaking in the rain. Buffet breakfast spread was good with a mixture of local and international cuisine. Will definitely stay here again if I visit Hualien in the future.

My family of 4 adults stayed in this hotel for 1 night. The room was clean and spacious for 4 adults (2 queen-sized bed). There was enough space to open our luggage on the floor. The toilet was also clean and spacious. The morning breakfast was simple. The hotel is quite far from Dongdamen Night Market and one way taxi fare costed about NT$250 but we chose this hotel because it is near Hualien HSR.

Taxis aren’t as plentiful in Hualien unlike the larger cities. -emergency exit sign is too large and far too bright at night and of course it can’t be turned off. -not a shady Taiwan-style “love motel” contrary to what some people might perceive -It seems to be more of a hotel than a motel

If you're staying in Hualien, then you should stay here because its conveniently located opposite McDonalds and KFC, and walking distance to Dongdamen Night Market as well as the shopping area intersecting Guangfu and Xingang streets. The hotel has WiFi, a gym, pet's hotel, bookshop, kids club, laundry, bicycle rental, and much more. If you are visiting in late 2018, there is a huge 21 floor shopping mall opening diagonally across the road which is the also tallest building in Hualien.

The hotel situated at 20 min walk from the train station and is located between the train station and the downtown (Dongdamen night market). The hotel room looked so much better than what been shown on the agoda website and the bed is rather comfy. However, the toilet was equipped with the shower shield without curb at the bottom causing the water flowing out to the entire toilet. One thing we love about the hotel was they provide bicycle for you to travel around Hualien which is pretty handy. Even though the architecture looks old fashioned and a little bit ill-maintained, we overall enjoy our stay here. Would recommend the hotel management to slowly refurbish the hotel to attract more visitors in the future.

This hotel is located next to the train station (not the high speed rail). As it is next to the train station you can access basically the important locations in Taichung. It is within walking distance to Yi Chung Night market (5 stops if you take a bus). You can also reach Feng Jia night market by bus from the bus stop. Direct coach service is available from across the hotel straight to main cities in Taiwan and Taoyuan Airport (@ NTD 240) without the need to change bus at train stations.
