Great hotel in immaculate condition, massive rooms with comfortable beds, big bathrooms, staff are really friendly and helpful, there is a family mart 200 metres away for all your cheap handy snacks and drinks, the Forbidden City is only a 15 min walk away, the only bad thing I would have to say about the hotel is that there is no restaurants or cafes close by, you have to walk 10 min into Wangfujing area but it's a nice walk, so definitely worth while staying here and good value for money

not having ever stayed in a 5 star hotel we have nothing like it to compare to. however, we were very pleased at the service, cleanliness, and presentation of this hotel. very spacious deluxe room, and the normal room service (cleaning, re-stocking) was terrific too. there is an indoor pool that was a bit on the cool side, but it didn't detract from our daughter having fun in it. free, clean, magnet-locked locker room, and clean showers in locker room. several dining options available, the coffee buffet decent, not grand. the 20th floor italian restaurant, though a bit pricey, was fancy enough and tasty, with amazing views overlooking downtown beijing (tiananmen square, part of forbidden city). hotel in excellent location, just a few blocks from above named attractions. we would definitely stay here again!!

We have been choosing a hotel in Beijing for more than 2 days (fortunately, my wife was doing most of that job) and, as result, we finally chose the Novotel Xian Qiao Hotel Beijing and now we may definitely state that we made a right choice. Most of the Beijing sites of interest are either in the walking distance (the Tiananmen square, the Forbidden city, the Temple of Heaven, and even the Beihai park), or they can be easily reached by metro or by bus - the public transportation is quite good in Peking. Our advice is to maximally walk about the city to feel its spirit. Moreover, imho, it's better to use different city restaurants to be acquanted with the Chinese quisine. To visit the Great Wall, we used the hotel tour service, and we were also satisfied with the quality of that tour.

The hotel is located near the Dengshikou station but you can also get here via Wangfujing station. Easy to hail a cab as well if needed. It's walking distance to Forbidden City/ Tiananmen Square (about 20 minutes) and it's close to Siji Minfu Pekng Duck restaurant, one of the locals' favorites. Also near Wangfujing Street where there are a lot of local food stalls, shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. There's a souvenir shop nearby as well that sells cheap goods. The room is also spacious and the staff is very helpful. They will really try their best to understand you (not all are good in English). Buffet spread is good, particularly the coffee selection. Not a lot of meat options, but a lot of healthy options. Definitely my hotel of choice if I were to go to this part of Beijing again.

the hotel is located in the center of the city, 1 minute walking distance from wangfujing shopping street, 15-20 minutes from forbidden city and tiananmen square. the room was not new but very clean, pleasant, bed was comfortable and nothing was falling apart. the room service was fast and the staff was very friendly and helpful and we were able to communicate well in english. the room was comfortable for a couple. tap water in china are not good. there is a 24/7 across the street from the hotel where we bought our water. the water and drinks in the minibar are very expensive. we are now going back to beijing and will stay at this hotel again for our last weekend in china.

The reception female staffs need more smile [which is rare in Beijing], the Mr. manager is better & helpful. we arrive early morning 6am with taxi meter off at RMB150, share with another passenger. waited at the lobby until 8am+ the bell man chase us off due to no ordering of drinks from the cafe. Then we go out side have a 1st walk at Wang Fu Jing st, just 5min walk distance! we had a noodle & dumpling at a nearby restaurant. we back to hotel at 10am & fortunately there's 1 room for us. checked in & took a nice shower with the strongest water pressure ever had... it's easy to take a bus to temple of heaven about 20min, then go to luo gu siang night market. 2nd day we join 1 day tour booked from hotel to great wall at RMB350/p, include lunch & ticket. it's a English speaking tour with mostly westerner. 3rd day we walk 15min to Forbidden city for 1 day visit, cant believe we walk back to hotel from back of forbidden city! 2 or 3km?.. 4th day check out & go to summer palace which takes 30min of subway, back to hotel at late afternoon & call a meter taxi [only RMB90+] to airport.

travelled to china with my mum. the hilton is a lovely hotel, we booked a twin bedroom and our beds were double beds! the bedroom was lovely, comfortable beds, amazing walk in wardrobe, huge separate bath and shower. room complete with chaise lounge and desk. breakfast is a must. delicious food, all tastes and flavours catered for. i loved the japanese miso soup with noodles and wantons each morning. proximity to wangfuijing street is but a 2 min walk out the front door. loads of shops and department stores. we walked to forbidden city from this hotel, took about 20mins. tiananmen square is across the road from forbidden city. this hotel is well positioned for everything. easy to catch the subway, once you know how to purchase a ticket. we ate in the hotel each night in the chinese restaurant 'chynna'. excellent service and the meals were delicious. must try the peking duck! highly recommended, ask for a map at the front desk!

got checked in really fast as we arrived at about 2 in the morning. the receptionist that night wasn't particularly rude but he wasn't exactly friendly either. asked him if there's any shops that serves local food for supper nearby and he just told us to order room service. the food was alright and the portion's rather huge. anyways, the hotel is within really short walking distance to the famous da dong roast duck restaurant at jin bao plaza. the food's really good. great variety and lovely atmosphere. skip quan ju de. park plaza is also rather close to the wang fu jing shopping district though i have to say there's nothing much there and its literally made for tourists. it's also about a 20 minute walk to the forbidden city. take a stroll there. it's lovely and not too stuffy on the winter. we booked a deluxe room as it stated here that it's above the 8th storey and we wanted a view. and we were given the 8th storey. they said they had no rooms left which is ummmm ... but forgoing all that, the room was above my expectations. it's a really good 4 star hotel, there's everything you need there. hair dryer, a hot tub after a day in the cold weather, tv with many channels, lots of space for your winter luggage. and most importantly, it's really clean. and the best part is, when we realized at the airport after we had checked out that i had left my ring in the room, the staff actually brought my ring over to the hotel in a sealed envelope after we called them to ask if my ring is there and if it's possible to bring it to the airport as our flight was in an hour and a half's time. it's really the best stay ever. thank you.

This hotel is located at a good location, not too busy area and walking distance to Wangfujing. Only a few hundred meters away from the Dongdan Station, hence it's convenient for tourists. Staffs are very helpful, they assisted me to purchase the entrance tickets to the Palace Museum, assisted to book day tour to the Great Wall, assisted to call for taxi to the airport, etc. Breakfast is almost the same every morning, but staffs at the restaurant are attentive and helpful. Good value and I would like to thank the hotel staffs for the friendly services! :)

The Raffles Beijing is an excellent choice for any traveller looking to visit Beijing on a middle to middle-upper budget. Thanks to a superb deal from Agoda, stayed there for 6 nights on my first visit to Beijing. Without exaggeration, the Raffles Beijing's location couldn't be any more central - it's a 3-minute stroll to Wangfuiing Street (Beijing's main pedestrian street), a 12-15 minute walk to the Forbidden City, the National Museum of China and Tiananmen Square, and for those of you inclined to take the subway (which itself is an excellent way of navigating the city), the subway entrance is literally at the hotel's doorstep. Not to mention, just stepping into the lobby provides some much appreciated respite from the millions of domestic and foreign tourists that throng the streets of Beijing. For comfort, convenience, and privacy, can't go wrong with the Raffles.

Novotel Peace Hotel is situated in close proximity (10 minutes walk) from the Forbidden City,Tian’anmen Square and several of the main parks ,as well as Food street and major shopping facilities ,only a short taxi ride from other attractions around the city. This is a good choice hotel, worthy of its 4 stars; the entrance lobby sets the scene of space and tranquillity in an opulent style. The staff speak English and are very helpful, they seek to please. The room was light, clean, with Coffee and tea making facility, a good TV; it was quiet thereby enabling a good night’s sleep. Shower and bath good with fresh towels and soaps each day, room service excellent. The hotel has adequate gym facilities and a pool, a valuable asset after a long day walking the attractions. There is a massage parlour although I didn’t have time to try it out. The bureau de change is open each day till late and their rate is competitive no need to shop around! The restaurant caters for all tastes is bright clean and attractive the price reflects the hotel quality. If this Hotel fits your budget then look no further you will not be disappointed.

check in hotel at about 0330am after long flight and freezing temperature from airport, no fuse, with extra bed arranged and placed impromptu to accommodate all four of us. feel apologetic for the hotel staff having to do that in wee hours. stayed for 4 nights. large business room, lcd tv with numerous channels, internet, with complete room facilities. despite the cold, the room is surprisingly hot!, need to open window to get cold air in room ( outside temp below 0 degree celsius ). staff do daily cleaning so room are clean and tidy. forbidden city, tiananmen, street foods, big and small eateries are all with walking distant. entrance to mrt is few minutes walking and taxi ( need to ask hotel to hail in a taxi ). many choices of food for the buffet breakfast , western or oriental. feel very much safe and at home.

I had a great stay at Crowne plaza, though I was not spending much time in the hotel itself. The location is great with easy access to metro and the forbidden city within walking distance. There are also restaurants and shops close by. We loved the breakfast, but it was expensive (230Y for breakfast+internet). The staff were very helpful, but some of the advice I got was not good. For example they adviced me to cancel my great wall trip for a private car which was either because they did not at all understand what I wanted or because they were getting a commission for booking tours.

The hotel is located in a "Hutong", i.e., a very small alley. Most taxi drivers refuse to go into those, but I arrived at 11 p.m., it was dark, and I couldn't see the hotel from the entrance of the Hutong, so I begged and pleaded with the taxi driver, who finally consented to taking me all the way to the hotel (I gave him a good tip for his pains). Once I arrived, I found that the staff had, indeed, read the message I left through Agoda about my adult daughter arriving separately and much earlier than me. Overall, the staff was very helpful ... from booking us on a tour to the Great Wall and rebooking it due to some unexpected health issues, to serving us breakfast extra early so we could make it to the tourbus on time. The facilities are nice, but in a few places could use some repairs. The (included) breakfast was a mix of traditional Chinese food (sweet and sour pork, rice porridge, etc.), and Western foods such as cereal, French Toast, regular toast with butter, jam, cheese, and some fresh fruit and yoghurt. The location is within walking distance of the Forbidden City (GoogleMaps helps a lot in getting there) and easy access to a subway station that gives quick and rush hour-free access to Beijing South Railway Station and other sites for just a few RMB.

This is a must stay location! The service by the staff met and exceeded our expectations. English spoken by staff everywhere in the hotel, the room was comfortable and quiet, the hotel itself was beautifully adorned, the location provides many local eateries across the street and the exotic Night Market one block away. The Forbidden City out the the door to the left was a very easy walk, the Wangfujing area out the door to the right another easy walk (except when carrying bags laden with shopping prizes back to the hotel.) T-Square and subway access adjacent to the Forbidden City were added benefits. If you want a temporary fix for Western food, there's Grandma's Kitchen out the door to the left and left again at the traffic light (just before the Forbidden City.) The restaurant will be on the right side of the street and the walk is about five minutes from door-to-door. When we return, we'll definitely return to the hotel!

My friends and I had such a great time here! First off, the staff is super friendly and helpful. They were able to give us directions to everywhere we wanted to walk to (it's super close to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square), called us taxis, told us the specific subway route and stops to take to get to the train station, and even reminded us to take our passports to the Forbidden City, which is not something we would've known to do. The rooms smaller than western-style hotels, but use the space efficiently, and the bathrooms are really nice - I loved their showerheads! We took advantage of the retractable clothesline in the bathroom to wash a few shirts and things - they provide laundry soap along with the other usual consumables like toothpaste and shampoo - and came back at the end of a long day of sightseeing to find that the staff had neatly folded our clothes for us once they'd dried! The breakfast spread is really good, and there's a lot of variety, so everyone should be able to find something they like. There's also a bar in the hotel, which we heartily took advantage of every evening. And although it's not usually something you look for in a hotel, I appreciated that they had souvenirs for sale in the lobby. They were a lot of the usual touristy things (fans, chopsticks, teacups, red lacquer bowls, figurines), but they were at totally reasonable prices. I bought a fan from them for 30 RMB that I later saw in a tourist-trap stall marked as 120! I doubt I would've been able to negotiate that low with my meager haggling skills. My only negative experience, and it has nothing to do with the hotel itself, was with finding a taxi to take us here when we first arrived in Beijing. It's down an alley, so one taxi didn't know where it was, and another just didn't want to drive there at all. It's only a short walk from the Dongsi subway station though, so I would suggest taking the subway here or, if you get a similarly uncooperative taxi driver, ask them to dro

I was moved to this hotel by agoda because the hotel I originally chose was overbooked. I was given a room on a high floor that had a view of the forbidden city and beihai park, I spent hours just sitting by the big windows of my room just staring at the view. Transportation is also easy because the bus station is very near and taxi/uber driver knows the hotel. Location is also very good and not far from the forbidden city, definitely would stay here again if I come back to beijing

The hotel isn't too bad but just not perfect. Overall rooms and services are ok. Breakfast is the pretty much the same stuff every day although there is a relative wide spread. The hotel is not inconvenient but it is not within close walking distance. Perhaps the few minutes of walking would be tolerable but in the summer heat, any minute less in the heat would be good. The nearest subway about 5 minutes away is the Cultural Center station but it requires multiple changes of lines to get to most of the attractions in Beijing. Wasn't as convenient as if you would stay near Line 1 or 2 or 4/5. Overall, the price isn't cheap too and can be considered steep. For the price, much more is expected. Hotel staff at breakfast also needs to explain more about the signing of the bill every morning for the breakfast before guest misunderstood that we may need to pay for breakfast when it's included in our package. Pool wasn't too bad with a slightly hot tub besides it. Didn't go to the gym.

This hotel is a great location and very comfortable rooms with included wifi throughout the hotel. Concierge was very friendly and helpful with us planning our trip and activities in Beijing. The only issue we had was being unable to get a taxi from the hotel. Location is just two blocks away from a metro exit and from best shopping street in Beijing. Short walk to Forbidden city. Hotel is a great value and service, but the quality is not the same as the much more expensive Peninsula hotels in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Stayed all over China this place is at the top of its price range. Not for the hotel or facilities. Location...subway around the corner key to traveling big cities in China. 4 of the biggest malls a block away. Forbidden city, T-square, and a hill for amazing views like 5mins west. The rooms are not huge nor impressive. But clean and spacious enough to be comfortable for the price. Good showers. TV. Decent beds. Drinking water which is actually so needed. Didn't try the menu or eat at the hotel restaurant why bother the streets are cheaper and food courts in the malls are actually very good quality. This place works as a safe, warm, and we'll priced place to drop bags explore the city and easily get home to a decent sleep

Pros: cheap and near to tourist attractions. A bus stop outside the hotel takes you to the temple of heaven and other attractions, less than 15 to half an hour bus ride. Very convenient. The hotel staff are friendly, managed to book the entry ticket through the staff for the forbidden city. The room is clean and the cleaner change the bed sheet daily, upon request. Cons: if someone smoke in the room or along the corridor, you won't be able to stay in the room. The cigarettes smell will make you faint. I had to use mask on one night as the smell is terrible. You will need a ear plug if you want to sleep soundly. You get to hear conversation when someone pass by the corridor, especially in middle of the night. If you are a light sleeper , think twice. The mattress is extremely hard and you will get backache easily. Best way, request for extra blanket to layover. Overall, as a solo traveller, I will book this hotel again.

Though a little hard to find, hotel is actually conventiently located just 3 bus stops away from subway station Dong Si and is just a few bus stops from Tian An Men Square. Hotel is only a short walk from Xuan Wu Men or North Gate (exit gate) of the Forbidden City. Do note that visitation to the Forbidden City is currently uni-directional i.e. you could only enter from the the main entrance at South Gate at Tian An Men Square and exit from the North Gate. The hotel is located in the middle of a small road. Getting out of the hotel turning right is a small decent road which is the direction of access to the North Gate of Forbidden City. Getting out turning right however, is an alley "Hu Tong" which is lined with small shops which one would not imagine could lead to a decent multi-story hotel housed within a compound although at the beginning of the road is several signage in Chinese showing there are several hotel/motel down the road. So don't be surprise if you first hit this alley when you try to find the hotel. Trully worth noting is, housed within the compound facing the entrance gate of the hotel is the building which was once the resort home of Princess He Jia, the fourth daughter of Emperor Qian Long. In 1898, this building was converted to an educational instituion which is the predecessor of the current Peking University. It was once the tallest educational building in China. Hotel is also just next to Jing Shan Park. Wang Fu Jing and the Prince Gong Mansion (Gong Wang Fu) aren't too far to access too, although transport maybe necessary.

This hotel is easy to find (we travelled by airport express and subway - cheap, quick and interesting) and very close to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The Grand Mercure has an impressive entrance and is welcoming and clean, with a really excellent bedroom (we were upgraded to Executive Suite on the 10th floor). The buffet dining has a wide range of Chinese and Western food on offer and the staff are friendly but could perhaps be a little more proactive. Service one evening was quite slow, but the food was very good. We arranged the trip to thye Great Wall in the hotel and it was really good. We would stay here again.

I stayed at the Jade garden hotel one week of December. It was my first visit to Beijing and generally to China. And this hotel was just what I needed: very clean, safe, calm. And dinner buffet - tasty, simple, fresh. And 60 RMB for meal is good price for Beijing. Service was exellent everywhere. Locaion of the hotel is one of the best in Beijing: close to Forbidden city in very beautiful and clean district. There are a lot of small places to eat. Closest metro station is Tian'anmen east - about 15 min walk. And you can see nice garden on this way - full of people doing exercises on Saturday and Sunday mornings. And empty and a bit mysterious on late evenings. Room is a bit smaller than they appear on photos, bathroom is tiny but with tube. Nice sink table and not so nice tiles around tube. Really hot water - very important in winter in China. Perfect bed - comfortable with good linen. Internet connection: you can browse using flat TV screen or your own laptop. TV channels - about 60 Chinese and CNN, TV-5 (french). No any Russian. Beijing was first city when I often came back to the hotel early: many places are open just till 16.00. I had to wake up early morning and was very tired at 7 PM. It was first time when I needed some TV to watch but no big choice. By the way, there is a small coffee machine in room. So you can bring your favorite coffee (in bags)and enjoy it. Other options for good coffee is Panjiyuan antique market. Not so antique but very interesting place< lot of craft items, worse to visit. Coffee is on right hand close to entrance))) *It's second time I use Agoda service. I like their discounted rates!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for four nights as part of our China vacation. The hotel is situated in the business district, and is a 15-20 minute walk or short subway ride to Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City. The rooms were average - decent size with large bed, but small bathroom. The bed was hard, but the pillows were comfy. The room did include a safe and a couple of complimentary bottles of water were provided daily. The air conditioning worked very well and the rooms lacked the overwhelming smell of mustiness we noticed in the other hotels we stayed at in Shanghai and Xi'an. The staff was very friendly, especially the doormen. They always greeted us with a smile and most spoke English well enough to have a conversation. The front desk staff were also very friendly and were able to check us into our room, even though we arrived before check-in time. We ate at Kitchen Asia, located in the hotel. The food was okay, but very cheap! Overall, I would recommend this hotel to travelers. It is not a budget hotel, but very reasonable (easily less than per night).
