"We stayed for 2 nights at Silks Place and felt that we could have stayed for a week to truly experience Taroko and relax in this wonderful hotel. The location is right in the middle of Taroko which is near the Baiyang trail and also Lushui. It is unfortunate that the 9 turn tunnel trail was closed but there are several walking paths possible along in the vicinity which is worth trying. The service at Silks Place was very good and breakfast was fantastic. Try the Chinese restaurant as they serve really good local food that has a more delicate taste compared to the street food in Taiwan. It costs us around 30 euro for two people for a really good meal. Our room has a view of the gorge which we enjoyed thoroughly. In addition, the rooftop jacuzzi was fantastic to relax in at night and even in slight rain. One can see/hear bats flying at night to the gorge. There are also night performances offered by the hotel and we were offered ginger drink as we enjoyed a young local band serenade english and manadarin songs on the roof terrace. It is a truly memorable stay."

"Forget about the five star resort nearby. In this place you will find great window views that Taroko George is famous for. If you plan to spend your time outdoors for trail and hiking, this is a great choice. The room itself was not as basic as we thought. On the contrary, it had everything that we would hope for: a quiet air conditioner, fridge, comfortable beds, spacious room... please consider this place. I recommend it strongly."

"Good location, near the entrance of the Taroko National Park and the bus stops. Liwu Hotel is old but well-kept. It bears with it a character so warm and familial, it made our stay relaxing and restful. It seems the hotel is family-run---based on the reviews I read. The staff speak little English but they were able to anticipate and help us with our concerns. We ate all our breakfasts and dinners at the hotel, and we always looked forward to the very tasty beef noodles after a day of hiking; all the meals were tasty and well prepared. The free buffet breakfast that came with the booking was ample and filling. If I ever go back to Taroko, I would stay at Liwu Hotel again. "

" The hosts (Pastor Dai & Hana) had great hospitality and took care of us so well. We stayed there 3 nights. We arrived on a rainy evening that we had no clue where we could find restaurant nearby. Hana & Pastor Dai offered us their homemade leftover dinner We were so thankful. Then Hana helped us to plan the 3 days itinerary to Taroko National Park 太魯閣 by bus 302. It was a wonderful stay. The hosts are Taroko native. We were offered with good breakfast & special mulberry tea, as well as Taroka dress to take pictures. Pastor Dai also gave us a ride to Coastal Cliff 清水斷崖 on our last day. We will stay here again for our future visit to Taroko. Thank you Hana - Pastor. "
