Hotels near Meridian Gate (Wu Men)

When you arrive in the hotel, you will think you're in a movie. The beautiful hall is a preview of the class of this hotel. Rooms are clean (really clean, not so easy in this country), big, the bed is the best one i got in the country, the swimming pool is really good and you can have your relax. Anything is perfect in this hotel, and the price i paid is really little for an hotel of this level. A plus i got: i paid a superior room, but when i arrived my room was upgraded to a deluxe ;) I visited several hotels in Beijing, and definitely i suggest you the capitol hotel. I guess is really difficult find another hotel that can offer you much more for the price you can find on the site. Btw, remember that all the services not included have a 5 stars price! Drink a can of coke from the mini bar inside the room will cost 8 or 10 times the coke street price, the laundry service to wash your panties will cost much more than buy a new one, use the internet cost 100 yuan per day, and so on. But if you avoid to use the additional service, i guess the room is really cheap considering the class of the furnitures, the beautiful bed, the number of towels, etc etc.

Comfortable, easily accessible just walk out of Chong Wen Men MRT exit B. cross the road and shopping centres. walk behind, you find local life styles. i didnt eat at the hotel, there is alot of cheap local food just across the road. they have airport transfer but i prefer to take the MRT just outside the rooms and they allow late check out till 3pm. walk to the back of the hotels you find some cheap motels for showers and minal rest(100cny for 3hours) if your flights are hours away from check out time. their wifi is superb.

At the last minute, we booked Sunworld Dynasty hotel through the Agoda website. We stayed for five nights and the service we received is on par with standards of a five star foreign-own hotels (e.g. Sheraton). Most staff could communicate in English, which was helpful. (Not a lot of locals in the city can speak/understand English so it was nice to be able to speak our first language at the end of the day). Complimentary bottles of water were provided every day. We had a fair size room with a king bed. Bathroom was also a nice size with a shower and a bathtub. Turn down service was a nice touch. Note that there is only one non-smoking floor. Gym and pool facilities were also very good.

it was really a great experience at sunworld hotel, me, my family and friends really enjoyed our 5 days stay in kuala lumpur. they have smiling, friendly and accommodating staff and the rooms are very clean but cheaper. if you want to go on shopping you can just walk around because it's just steps away to shopping areas. oh our buffet breakfast and lunch were also the best, the foods and service looks like as if you are in a 5 star hotel. we recommend our friends to stay at sunworld hotel, the best place to stay in malaysia.

Tian'An Rega Hotel is located between Tian'An Men (Forbidden City) and Wangfujing shopping street. With Wangfujing Station just 5-7 mins walk away, it is great for travelling to other parts of Beijing using the subway. Then hotel gives guests a small but warm feeling, and it's staff are quite conversant in English, which is important for most travellers. Services are prompt and efficient. Staff at the Concierge, and Business Centre (which also provides bookings for day tours) afre very helpful and friendly. Overall, the hotel gives guests a reason to go back again and again.

We stayed here for 3 nights for Easter weekend and the hotel was a perfect base for sightseeing. Traffic is a nightmare so we took the subway everywhere and the station is right next to the hotel. The hotel is 5 star in quality, the concierge was the best concierge service I have seen in a long time. The rooms were large, clean and had everything you would expect of a luxury hotel. I will definitely stay here again next time. Although, opposite the hotel is the Legendale Hotel (very blingy and over the top but also quite interesting!), worth checking it out.

This hotel is relatively new and worth every cent. We had booked an executive room 4 months in advance and thus got very good rates for it. The room is big and the winning features are obviously the bathroom area (bath, shower and wc seperately) along with the little walk in dresser cum luggage area. We travelled with our boisterous 8 year old and never felt too crowded in the room. The staff are excellent and we became friends at the end of our 6 nights. As we had booked hotel transfer from airport to hotel via the hotel, we were met at arrival from the gate itself. What wonderful service. A highly recommended hotel in Beijing.

I stayed in room 616 and overall it's an excellent solid choice if you're in the mid-range budget. There are places that are cheaper (<50 USD/night), but I don't think it'll be this comfy. This place makes me feel like sleeping in a 5 star but only paying fraction of it - very value for money (paid about 80 USD/night after Agoda discount voucher - originally 90 something). You can also stay in more expensive hotels (200-300+ USD/night), but I don't see the need for that after experiencing Park Plaza. Location: - Literally 2 mins away from the metro gate Dengshikou - Wangfujing street is about 3 blocks away, but Tiananment is a long stroll (20-30 mins - but who visit Tiananmen everyday anyway? as long as near metro, you're fine) - Cab driver can find it easily (I printed the hotel name+address in Chinese and map) - Seemed to be upscale location; we literally saw 2 couples in the same afternoon taking pre-wed pics at Jinbao street. And there's a lot of high end car showroom on the main street as well. Room: - Bed was comfy, not hard as I heard in other hotels in China - Room size was quite big; did not feel claustrophobic compared to hotels in Japan - Design is modern, kept clean. TV is LCD flat screen, model from 2 years ago so relatively new. - The wall is quite thick although you can still hear sound leakage from the hallway - but not a big annoyance - Water pressure no issue. Air con also fine (controllable in each room ). - FREE internet (although I did not try due to no laptop) Service: - Booked via Agoda, check in/out was no issue - we did get the king bed in new tower as requested (so your note during reservation is attended) - Did not try the room service but when I asked for a bucket of ice, they come within 10 mins - Most staff speaks English, if someone is confused with your question they will immediately get someone else who speaks better English to attend to you - No safety issue, we placed our items in safety box everything is intact. i loved this hotel, value for money, what you see in the pictures is well, what you would get. travelling with family with older parents. booked 1 deluxe room and 1 suite room. both rooms were spacious, new, clean, bright, comfortable. you get fresh, clean and white towels daily, laundry service good, all in all very satisfied. hotel staff are all very obliging and polite. toilets are huge, there's 2 toilets for the suite room, shower area of the suite room comes with high ceiling, good water pressure, bathtub etc. front desk was very helpful in answering our questions (eg: how to get to places, where to go to get certain things). it does live up to its 4 star rating, since most 4 star hotels in china tend to be more like a 3 star hotel. subway/metro station: dongdan station, abt 3 minutes walk. nice and quiet area. cons: menu for room service was limited, not near amenities (eg shopping centres/super markets).

we like the location of the hotel alot as it is at the mouth of the beijing shopping street, wangfujing. it's a maximum of 15 mins walk to many tourist attractions like the forbidden city, wangfujing, tian an men and etc. the staff are polite and helpful as well. as we took a midnight flight, we arrived at the hotel much earlier than the check in time of 2pm. however,we were assured that they will do their best in order for us to check in asap. if there's 1 thing that may be of an inconvenience, it will be a lack of air con during winter time. as i was in beijing during the heavy smog period, it wasnt advisable to open up the small window panel to cool the room down, but the vents were just blowing out warm air. luckily the heavy smog was cleared the 2nd day of our trip!

I arrived after a very long fligh,rather tired,to be greeted by nice,polite and efficient young people at reception.Another kind youn man helped me with my luggage to my room.The room:big,beautiful,very comfortable bed,excellent matress,minibar well provided.Lights well sited,air condition working well.The bathroom ,complete,a la francaise,excellent.I must say that all this was a great surprise,much appreciated by Latin people like me.I was given some complementary fruit in me room,this was another good surprise.Lets us go to the dining room for breakfast:the reception girls,the young French manager?very polite and helpful.The waiters,discrete,efficient,polite.Buffet both Chinese and European ,again with the French touch of croissants,baguette,crepe and many other things.The Chinese side had a huge choice of different dishes as well,all fresh and tasty food. Back to the bedroom:I forgot to mention how generous toiletries and how nice and polite the room girls are,they manage to communicate in spite of not being fluent in English,but they do their best to please. Shops:I tried the clothes shop,top quality of very modern clothes and very nice shop attendant.Same commentaries for the shop nearest to reception,which sells of ort of Chinese beautiful things.Very polite lady working there.I did not use the currency exchange,but it is available all the time. Again reception people were nice,polite and efficient when I had to check out,both sorting out my account,dealing with my now heavy luggage and finding a proper taxi.The door man wrote the number of the taxi on a card which was given tome,just to make sure that everything goes smooth.This shows care and responsibility for the hotel guests till the very end. We stayed at Beijing North Garden hotel for 3 nights at end of Oct 2011. We enjoyed our stay. The best part of the hotel is its prime location on the first block of the busiest Wanfujing street, the start of this prime tourist pedestrian shopping street which is full of big fancy departments stores, huge bookstore next door, alleys full of small stalls and food stands are just steps away. It is located in the trendy new Mall of the Orient complex where Grand Hyatt is located but at the fraction of the price. It is approx. 3 minutes walk from the WFJ subway station, across the street from 24HRS McDonalds which has a dedicated coffee counter, surrounded by hundreds of restaurants and shops and shopping malls. Each nightly casual stroll discovered even more surprises on the main street and side alleys. The front desk ladies are reserved without smile, but they warm up later and proved to be helpful. The concierge bellboy doesn’t seem to know much but front desk ladies tend to cut in fast to help out. We had a very spacious executive suite on the top 11th floor with open living room with sofa and 360 degree flat screen TV, smaller queen bed, safe, fridge and small bathroom, all seem clean and safe. The carpet is tan color, may seem old and dirty to some picky ones, but it looks clean to me upon closer exam. The executive lounge on 12th floor is no longer operational and locked up. No free breakfast and we did not bother to check. There is constantly stream of empty taxis driving pass the hotel so finding a taxi is very easy. The front door is guarded by policemen 24 hours a day. No card needed to go upstairs. Elevators are always ready and fast, very few people around. Taxi to PEK airport from hotel was easy, we reached airport at 8AM in 30 minutes in slow driving in thick fog, 80rmb plus 10rmb toll, total 90rmb. It is not a luxury hotel, 3 stars, but clean and spacious, with the best location in Beijing, very satisfied with North Garden Hotel.

The Crowne Plaza Beijing was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in - and I've stayed in a lot! The staff were amazing - they were so helpful, great English speakers and willing to do anything for anyone. The food was great also at the Club Lounge, Room Service & the Espresso Lounge. My room was huge! Super modern and great facilities. I would reccommened this hotel to anyone visiting Beijing - particularly if it is your first visit to the city. I can't wait to go back next year and stay at the Crowne Plaza Beijing again. Thank you to all the staff who made my stay so unforgettable!!!!

This is a great Chinese boutique hotel with a good location (10 min walk to subway station). The rooms are beautiful with Chinese decorations, but the AC and the bathrooms have been modified to modern times. I stayed during winter and the heater was working perfectly. The service is impeccable. I have been in 5 star hotels in Tokyo and this hotel was even better in service than them. Perfect English speaking staff. Always friendly and always accepted requests. This is a great value for the money. I recommend the bigger rooms as their decorations seem even better. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

We had a great stay after a shaky start when the taxi wouldn't go down the narrow Hutong ( laneway) in which the hotel is located. Lugged our bags along the street until we found it and we're then welcomed into a warm and comfortable retreat from the busy- ness of Beijing. Close enough to walk to the Main Street full of interesting shops -close to the local Wu Mart ( supermarket), and walking distance to Tianamen Square. This hotel is based on the traditional Chinese home, but provides all mod cons, like an in room safe, nice bathroom products, tea making in room, minibar, but it also has some uneven ground in the corridors, so is not your usual luxury hotel. We enjoyed it!

The room was big and clean with all the amenities I expected. Breakfast was ok, but I have to give props to the hot pot restaurant, it was delicious and reasonably priced than outside hot pot restaurants. Location was good since it is near majors attractions but the hotel itself is located between 2 metro stops, so a 10 minutes walk to either metro entrance. Staffs were overall great, friendly and helpful, with the exception of the check in staffs of that particular night, they weren't mean or rude, just not particularly friendly or informative. I would definitely stay again though! Well worth the money and reasonably priced compared to other 4 stars hotels in the area.

The hotel isn't too bad but just not perfect. Overall rooms and services are ok. Breakfast is the pretty much the same stuff every day although there is a relative wide spread. The hotel is not inconvenient but it is not within close walking distance. Perhaps the few minutes of walking would be tolerable but in the summer heat, any minute less in the heat would be good. The nearest subway about 5 minutes away is the Cultural Center station but it requires multiple changes of lines to get to most of the attractions in Beijing. Wasn't as convenient as if you would stay near Line 1 or 2 or 4/5. Overall, the price isn't cheap too and can be considered steep. For the price, much more is expected. Hotel staff at breakfast also needs to explain more about the signing of the bill every morning for the breakfast before guest misunderstood that we may need to pay for breakfast when it's included in our package. Pool wasn't too bad with a slightly hot tub besides it. Didn't go to the gym.

While the staff deliver 5 star service the hotel's infrastructure is no longer 5 star, with the exception of the pool/gym. Ownership needs desperately to invest in a refurbishment of the rooms/halls, etc. That said, at the right price point, this hotel represents arguably the best hotel value in Beijing. Through a prepay/no refund deal available only on Agoda, my wife and I obtained a great price (excluding breakfast but including taxes for 5 nights in early Jan 2014) and, thus, enjoyed an excellent stay. Our grand deluxe room was quite comfortable and, when a few things needed fixing, the staff responded immediately and quickly resolved the issues. The lobby lounge is a very good spot for meetings over tea/coffee and the gym/pool are excellent. We did not eat in the hotel so no comment on dining. The location of the hotel is great and, for those interested, there is a subway stop less than 5 minutes walk. There are also coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, etc., all within a very short walk of the hotel. In sum, while this property is no longer 5 star in overall quality and certainly not nearly the same quality level as the rest of the Peninsula Hotels around the world, at the right price point it is worth considering and for visits to Beijing. We will certainly consider it for our next visit.

This is a wonderful, cheap and convenient hotel. I had a great time. The location is slap bang in the middle of Beijing. The closest subway is only a few blocks away. Reception don't speak any English, but people who complain about this lack creativity and insight. Just download a translation app, and vuala you're in business. The people here were very nice and smiled every time I passed by. Do your research on the places you want to visit because unfortunately the English level is very low.

the hotel is a 3/2 stars establishment just 10 minutes walk from forbidden city and tian an men square. it is located in nan he yan street which provides easy access to taxis but not too busy so you can have quiet nights for recuperating from your days of exploring the city. it has 2 subway stations within walking distance (wang fu jing and tian an men) so it is easy to go into different parts of the city. the staffs speak a little english so a little knowledge of basic mandarin should be useful. the rooms are huge and have adequate supplies of coffee/tea, mineral water etc and to huge relief, the bathroom has sitting toilet (a privillege in china) and nice shower. in all, the hotel provided a real value for the price we're paying (per night), especially in terms of its location and the quality of its room facilities

EChoose this hotel cause it is new and in the best location in Beijing. Staff are nice and helpful. Facilities are all in top grade. There is room to improve. Like better communication on check in, reception should tell us the room to room line is disable between 22:00 - 08:00. Adding a small rubbish bin in toilet room. One more tissue box in living room. A small table next to sofa for placing tea and food...etc. Anyway, the overall experience in this hotel is great and comfortable. Would like to visit again

Though a little hard to find, hotel is actually conventiently located just 3 bus stops away from subway station Dong Si and is just a few bus stops from Tian An Men Square. Hotel is only a short walk from Xuan Wu Men or North Gate (exit gate) of the Forbidden City. Do note that visitation to the Forbidden City is currently uni-directional i.e. you could only enter from the the main entrance at South Gate at Tian An Men Square and exit from the North Gate. The hotel is located in the middle of a small road. Getting out of the hotel turning right is a small decent road which is the direction of access to the North Gate of Forbidden City. Getting out turning right however, is an alley "Hu Tong" which is lined with small shops which one would not imagine could lead to a decent multi-story hotel housed within a compound although at the beginning of the road is several signage in Chinese showing there are several hotel/motel down the road. So don't be surprise if you first hit this alley when you try to find the hotel. Trully worth noting is, housed within the compound facing the entrance gate of the hotel is the building which was once the resort home of Princess He Jia, the fourth daughter of Emperor Qian Long. In 1898, this building was converted to an educational instituion which is the predecessor of the current Peking University. It was once the tallest educational building in China. Hotel is also just next to Jing Shan Park. Wang Fu Jing and the Prince Gong Mansion (Gong Wang Fu) aren't too far to access too, although transport maybe necessary.

I used to work in one of the only 4 diamond hotels in my state in the United States. So i know what goes into a hotel and am usually very picky. This hotel was amazing. It was clean, they were polite, the staff spoke english. This was the highest class and overall best hotel i have ever stayed in. The pools were remarkable. Inside the changing rooms near the pool are a massive hot tub which could fit 30, a cold bath which could fit 15, and a suana and steam room. All seperated by sex. (My partner had her own in her changing room.) The restaraunt had a buffett for i think it was 88 yuan which was a deal. Great location. I live in beijing as a foreigner so this was just a get away night to have fun on the weekend. I will definitly be returning.

we booked 3 rooms for a total of 8 consecutive nights. the hotel is situated in a great location in between two train lines. the hotel capitalizes that mainly westerners use the hotel and charges everything at ridiculous prices. after a few nights we desperately needed to wash our clothes, but to wash our clothes with the hotel services would have easily costs over (to wash a tie for example). when we asked reception if there was a coin laundry nearby they recommended we use the hotel and only reluctantly gave us directions when we told them that we didn't want to use their services. breakfast is overpriced, do not go there if you don't have it included. for five coffees, two breakfast cereals (cornflakes), one bowl of fruit and toast came to 498rmb!!!! ridiculously expensive. avoid buying anything from the hotel. i paid 44rmb for a beer in the lobby the first night but bought my own beers for 6rmb and drank them there the following nights. housekeeping were good, the only mild complaint would be that my single bed to be against the wall and the carpet underneath was really dirty. however, whenever we needed anything (like a needle to fix my button or an iron) it was delivered promptly. they also shine your shoes for free. didn't use the facilities because we were too busy (leaving early, returning late), but the gym is very cheap looking so don't book this hotel just for that feature. apart from the ridiculous prices, the hotel is great. just walk out reception, turn right and walk for 500m and there is a great shopping district complete with markets (if you're looking for the markets, it's on the same side as the hotel and it's in a building with a mcdonalds - the markets are awesome). i had a great time in beijing and the hotel really is in a prime spot do carry out everything you need. if they just lowered their prices they would be fantastic.

Nothing to complain about. This hotel lacks the luxury suggested by 4-star rating, but suited me perfectly for a 4-day stay near the classic centre of Beijing. Staff were helpful and spoke enough English to communicate well. Travel agent with office in the hotel arranged an economical tour to the Great Wall. Breakfast included with room was satisfactory, not great but sufficient. Room was far from luxurious, but comfortable and clean. Best of all is the location: Easy walking distance from metro line, Forbidden City south and north gates, TienAnMen Square, shopping and eating. A longer walk to old-ish part of city, just south of TienAnMen, and beyond that to the Temple of Heaven. As an older, single male traveler, I would definitely book here again.

We love this hotel. This is a big hotel. A local 5 star hotel with spacios room, big size bathroom, very clean room and complete amenities. Superb location it is only 100 mtr away from Dongdan station (line 1 & 5) exit B facing to the Jianguo hotel and 200 mtr away to exit A & F facing to the malls at oriental. Subway transportation is the best way to explore beijing since it is very very difficult to find a local who can speak english. Wangfujing street it is around 1 km away from the hotel (right behind of the malls at oriental). I would definately recommend this hotel to everyone
