"Normally everybody first looks for a beach-resort at this island, BUT after coming here for 10 years now i can truely say that sadly most of them are old, run down, many things damaged, dirty or overpriced if they are in condition. Tje owners do not really care about them cause most people come here are young party-people or backpackers coming for just a few days for the fullmoon-party and never come back, so they see no reason for take care. If you find a good room at beach its also expensive. What you get here at Phangan Island View is different and high western standard. Everything is very clean, the beds are good, the interior modern you really feel comftable here. Even when i am not a friend of hotel-style buildings its wonderful and quiet here because its just a small but nice hotel, so you can find silence here. The pool is fantastic, never saw a cleaner pool in thailand. Its big, beautiful and even have a whirlpool-corner which you can start manually. I am normally not a friend of pools because many times you dont know about the water-quality or look not well maintained BUT this one i had to use because its obviously that its perfect and clean same as the whole hotel. The owner, an older thai-lady is very friendly and we was welcomed with a drink and fresh bananas are offered for free for all customers. You also can rent good motorbikes here or book ferry-tickets for same price at the reception. If you can live with the fact that you not directly live at a resort at the beach its the best accomodation you can get for that price (anyway the beach at thongsala is not made for swimming cause the water is very low and just knee-deep if you go in 100 meters. The location is very good, direxrly at the main-road but you dont really hear any noise in the hotel, so its always only a few steps by foot or some minutes with the motorbike to be at all important places around and only 5 mins to the beach. So, if you want it clean, comftable and modern for a good pr"

"They are currently updating every bungalow and renaming the resort to Lime n Soda. The rooms with air-con are excellent, very well sealed so the air-con works well. You get an outdoor bathroom but its still very nice. The room itself was very nice too, quite big and could sleep 3. The pool is also lovely although there are not too many sun loungers but nobody seemed to do the old towel trick which was nice. The downside to hotels here is if you like lying on glorious sand as you don't get it here, but this really isn't why you go to Koh-Phangan! The best thing about this place was the owner/manager/bar staff/general staff. Everyone here was so friendly and would go out of their way to help. The bar is right on the beach and is a cracking way to warm up for the full moon party! Especially because the bar manager Kevin who enjoys a wee drink with you and the owner/manager is absolutely nuts. She'll have you drinking complimentary Thai shots (described as the Thai Jager)and have everyone up dancing on the bar!!! Worth going here just for the staff! "

"Food prepared by a gem who takes absolute pleasure in Thai cooking. 50 BHT and up too, can’t get better than that! She would even bring extras out for us to try. Great little pool, go for a superior room (super nice), only 7 TV channels though. Good location, free transport to the pier, 50 min walk to Phaeng waterfall. Also an outdoor movie theatre right across the street! "

"Walking distance to pier, I had an AC bungalow and really liked it. It was fairly big with a king bed, big bathroom and a big bench to store your stuff. Patio had two chairs and a hammock to chill out. Beach isn't the nicest but I knew that before I booked. Common area/restaurant/bar is quite big and beachfront. The food could be better. My fish and chips were undercooked so I didn't eat the full meal, breakfast I ordered was alright, I've had better. Staff could be a bit more enthusiastic. It seemed like every time I ordered food or a drink, it was a bother to them. But the location is great. Lots of shops, restaurants and the market around. So if you don't want to eat there you have about 50 other options within a few minutes walking distance. And the AC bungalow was great value for money. I'd stay here again. Wifi also worked great"
