"We had two amazing nights at Liwu Hotel. The owner Johnny (if I'm not mistaken) was friendly and helpfull. He would answer any question regarding your stay and nearby attraction. We enjoyed our breakfast meal too. Don't expect fancy food. The hotel provided bread, porridge, buns, simple salad, coffee and tea. Hot water/cold water is available at the dining area. We took a bus from Xincheng Train Station. Just mention Liwu Hotel and the bus driver will bring you to a bus stop just nearby the hotel. The hotel is just 10-15 minutes walk to Taroko National Park centre. You can also explore the Liwu river, located just behind the hotel. There's a nearby 7-11 store and small restaurants too. Easy to take a bus to Xincheng/Hualien train station too."
