I've stayed in so many dingy cities in Asia, Hat Yai being just another dingy and gritty one, that finding this simple clean hotel was a nice surprise. The Red Planet chain seems to be a no frills brand, but reliable. Everything functioned properly - strong AC, ceiling fan, room safe, flat tv (few English channels, but Hat Yai is laid out for Malay and Chinese visitors), nice shower. All very simple, but that said, completely devoid of personality. With no carpets or decor of any type, the rooms and hallways tend to echo - you'd better hope for quiet neighbors. No free drinking water provided, but the front desk sells water for a reasonable price. Staff speak very good English. There is a tour desk in the lobby, from which you can book minibus/ferry to Pak Bara and Koh Lipe. Location is very good - easy walk to the city center. No restaurant on site, but there are numerous greasy Chinese restaurants in the vicinity. Perhaps some good ones too. Restaurants and carts charge anywhere from 30-80 baht for the exact same bowl of noodles, so if you are a non native, expect to pay more, the facts of life. The view out the window of Room 304 looks directly at the building just one meter away next door. But of course the rooms with a view would overlook the street and be noisy. Your choice. Bottom line, for an 18 hour stopover in Hat Yai, this clean simple hotel was just fine.

Got many halal Food in Hotel area. - easy to get tuk tuk, but I recommend to use Grab tuktuk. -The room was very clean and nice - So many channel on the tv and the signal very clear. -The bed very good. - Spacious room - I book 6 room in Agoda (2 Double bed and 4 Twin Bed), come in Hotel at 12:30pm. The staff said if still want Double Bed, i will get different floor with the others and only available check in 2 pm. So just agree all Twin Bed and check in earlier. I am ok with that. no problem. - The staff are so efficient and prompt action. All the check in and check out process running smooth. Very good! - will stay here again if come to Hat Yai. - Toilet very clean.

The front office clerks was kind and respectful. The place was abit far to the lee garden area. But it is hat yai so everywhere is close plus there is grab. There is no breakfast but there is a lounge where you can serve yourself a cereal,toast,juices,teas,snacks and etc. The lounge have different type os food/snacks on a different time. We book the family suite and the toilet bowl was fantastic. It was quite big balcony. The TV Channel were perfect. There was hot water,mineral water,towels,fridge. It was clean. I think its the best hotel hat yai can offer. As other hotels in hat yai are pretty creppy,old,dark and dirty. This was the best. Hence i totally recommend. It was a lovely stay. Thank you.

On-site parking is free. is a good experience to staying in golden grown plaza hotel. is clean, comfortable , and the main point in near by city area. just cross over the road can see a lot of shops and restaurant and convenient . however, i have a small matter about the bathroom water heater. the water is not enough hot and it will be awesome if the hotel can do the maintainenss about it.

Situated just outside the Train Station. Staff was friendly all the way through. Even showed me where the toilets are and how to access the lockers. Pillow, Blankets and Towel are stored at the individual lockers. One of the staff even helped me bring it to my bunk. The rooms, toilets,halls, lobby was very clean. The bed was a little hard but for me I believe perfect due to my spine condition. the pillow and blankets were the best and comfortable. Point for the owners to note, both the doors for the male toilet and shower room were unable to latch ! I had difficulty with that in the morning, thank God no one was around hahaha !! Access to the dorms are via your keycard which is given to you upon check-in. This keeps away unwanted outsiders from gaining access. I enjoyed the courteousness from the staff. I enquired about a certain tour company's location to which they searched it up immediately and even enquired from a passer-by as to where it is situated. Definitely will be back in Hat Yai again to stay at this place !!! Kudos

Aloha Hotel is a brand new hotel well located in Hat Yai, and within walking distance to the major shopping belt & local markets, such as Lee Garden Plaza & Kim Yong Market. The hotel lobby set-up is simple and clean. We reached Aloha Hotel at about 10.30am on our first day in Hat Yai and were allowed to check in early. We were also able to have late check-out at 2pm upon request on our last day of stay. Both check-in and out procedures were swift and took not more than 5 mins each. The double bed room which we booked was found to be very clean and well kept, and the bed was comfortable. Overall, it is a good choice and strongly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay at the VL Hatyai Hotel.The room was comfortable and the staff friendly and efficient,particularily the english speaking reception staff. Location is good,right opposite Kim Yong market and only a few minutes walk from the nightlife of central Hatyai. The hotel,itself,was very quiet but because it is located on a busy road junction there was traffic noise on Friday and Saturday nights till the small hours....other nights will be OK. Must sees in Hat yai....Chedi Thaimongkhon (beautiful stainless steel temple)and Hat Yai Municipal Park but you will need a tuktuk to take you to and from both locations.

Overall, I really enjoyed my two nights at Asian Hotel. It was easy for the taxi driver to find it since it located in the heart of Hat Yai. The lobby is pleasant and nicely decorated. The check-in and check-out was smooth and done efficiently. You are given the choice to leave your passport or a deposit. I chose the deposit since I'm not comfortable with leaving my passport. When I checked out I got my deposit back. The hotel is within walking distance from well-known local market, Starbucks, McDonalds, KFC, Tops Market (Centara Hotel), Sizzlers and other western restaurants. Of course, if you want to try some of the Thai or Chinese cuisine, we can find them really close by as well. You can easily find taxis/songtews in front of the hotel...but if you know your way around Hat Yai or you can speak some Thai, you can get the songtews (pick-up trucks) for 10B to Central Festival Mall (20-30 minutes ride with the stops). The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was also clean...my room had a bathtub and it a great surprise. Unfortunately, the water pressure was on and off! At times, the water would go from hot to cold in a split second... The internet signal was a bit weak at times. I had to wait for a less busy time or go to the lobby for a better signal. The breakfast experience was good. Although the coffee was a little bit bitter, they have a good variety of fruits (sweet pineapples, watermelons), toast, rice, hot dogs, eggs (made to order)...it seems like it is the breakfast spot in Hat Yai. Several people were eating there (from other hotels). The following day I went early to beat the crowd... The only negative was being approached by a bellboy about a "lady companion" on my first day. On the last night, my business partner was approached (by a different bellboy) and asked if he wanted a companion. Not sure what was going on...hopefully, this type of thing is not approved by the hotel manager.

My needs were unusual - I was a bicycle tourer meeting another one in Hat Yai. My bike was too big to fit in the lift easily (though I could have done so as I have at many other hotels, by lifting the front wheel up) but they asked me to park it in their office where they could keep an eye on it as well. It remained safe throughout my stay. One of the Concierge was very helpful and arranged a massage and so on for us. The hotel itself is old but comfortable and clean. My only issues were that the light at the bed head was not working (old LED strip) and the shower water temperature was hard to control so I had very hot showers. Still, they were not serious issues to me and I enjoyed my stay. The location is great and near my favourite pub in Hat Yai, Post Laser Disc, and also to some other sites like markets and even the railway station.

This was my second time staying at Kosit. The reason why I came back for the second time was because of the hotel itself. My stay was generally very pleasant. Though the customer service could have been better, I'd still compliment the receptionist I'd interacted with as she let my mom and I check in at 9am. We drove all the way from KL, Malaysia and you can imagine how exhausted we both were. So that little gesture from her made our stay even better. Location wise, Kosit is located in the heart of Hat Yai. You're basically a stone's throw away from busy areas such as Lee Garden Plaza, etc. Value for money? ABSOLUTELY! Will I come back? Absolutely yes.

A little far from hat yai town center, is on south edge, but just 3 minutes' walk to Sakura Hotel for great massages and buffet breakfast. You can enter hotel/lobby from the back through the carpark or front. As you exit from the hotel's front entrance, walk left and turn left around the corner, walk straight ahead (towards the city center), you will pass a few street foods and eating shops all along the right opposite side of the road. You will find delicious and non-tourist priced thai food - noodles, mixed rice, and dim-sum. You must try the famous one that has the best wantan noodles and chicken/duck/pork rice - it is behind the Hatyai Rama hotel, as you walk straight towards Sakura Hotel, just before the opposite of the hotel on the right, in a small lane (left side of the lane).

After staying at several well know hotels in Hat Yai, found this hotel and have enjoyed the stay. Feels like it is just getting started after renovation. Staff small but efficient and friendly and helpful. Room was nice and clean and comfortable. Bed was standard for Hat Yai hotels with mattress much to hard for more than a few days. Hard to find on the internet and if we had not walked by we would not have know it was there. Room was standard hotel type and not a usual suite from most hotels. Location great for shopping in the middle of town within walking distance to major shopping areas.

Booked the last 5 "standard double with fan" rooms available for my big family. check in was smooth. parking available only for 6 or 7 cars. location is perfect. near railway station, clock tower, lee gardens plaza. room was clean and spacious! provided : wardrobe, towel rack, hangers, box TV, drinking glass, pitcher, towels and soap. cold water dispenser available at the corridor on every floor. hot water have to request from their small cafe in the lobby. not provided : toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, iron, hot shower when i entered the room, i was a bit disappointed to see the ceiling fan is too small and afraid the room will be hot. but i was wrong, the room is so cold i had to switch off the fan in the middle of the night! just one thing i don't really like, the bed was very hard. but i still sleep on it anyway because i was too tired after a very long day exploring Hat Yai. all in all, my family and i were very satisfied with Laem Thong Hotel and i will definitely book again if i go to Hat yai.

Recently stayed for 6N. A regular traveller to Hat Yai. Hotel: Central location, convenience to everywhere be it shopping, food, massage or night life music. Daily a simple breakfast provided FREE to all hotel guest. Just a coffee vending machine/bread Room: Rm area quite comfortable with king size bed and 2 spare pillows. However, this hotel do not have a proper full window view. All windows face next bldg but not a concern to me. Toilet big enough, hot water and water pressure perfect. Provide daily 2 bts drinking water, tooth brush, shower cap and ear bud. 2 coffee cup but no coffee/tea sachet. Perhaps hse keeping shd take note. House keeping, i was a little disappointed on second day. Woke up late, hang door card (3pm) requesting room service, back 8pm nothing done. Looks like house keeping do not keep proper records and chamber maid do not even check. Anyway, it only happened on that day so really no big issue. Just a complain to front desk reservation mgr. Highly recommended!

Leelawadee Resort 2 located few miles away from Hatyai Town, this make it away from crowded and noisy places, it is recommended for those who want an quiet staying environment. The best advantage this resort is there is own car parking area right in-front of your room, ideal for those who drive own car to Hatyai. Inside room have fridge, tv, air-cond, but doesn't have cupboard, should add a cupboard in the room.

stayed here for 2d1n. it's pretty far from the city. had to keep taking the motorbike taxi (abt 7 mins ride, each trip cost between 30b to 50b one way depending on the time). not many food places nearby. you can find some thaifood within the near walking distance, but the options are little. the hotel itself is located beside 3 clubs..the clubs are loud! the rooms are somewhat well insulated but you can still hear the heavy bass till about 4am or 5am, depending on what time they feel like going home. so if you're a super light sleeper, this is not a good place. as for the hotel itself. the room is spacious (i got a superior room). the shower and the room is clean. however, there isn't a coffee/tea making facility in the room, and the hotel's cafe is closed for some reason, so no breakfast/coffee here either. and hotel room view is just neighbouring buildings. the receptionist don't speak much english so communication was a lil bit of a problem. the room in which i stayed, they bulb in the shower was fused, i called them up, the room service woman came up, said something in siamese, shook her head and when away. so i had to manage with the mirror's light. so in total, the room is clean, beds are comfortable.. but there are too many other downsides, so i wouldn't stay here again. it would be better off staying smack in the city.
