"The Raffles Beijing is an excellent choice for any traveller looking to visit Beijing on a middle to middle-upper budget. Thanks to a superb deal from Agoda, stayed there for 6 nights on my first visit to Beijing. Without exaggeration, the Raffles Beijing's location couldn't be any more central - it's a 3-minute stroll to Wangfuiing Street (Beijing's main pedestrian street), a 12-15 minute walk to the Forbidden City, the National Museum of China and Tiananmen Square, and for those of you inclined to take the subway (which itself is an excellent way of navigating the city), the subway entrance is literally at the hotel's doorstep. Not to mention, just stepping into the lobby provides some much appreciated respite from the millions of domestic and foreign tourists that throng the streets of Beijing. For comfort, convenience, and privacy, can't go wrong with the Raffles."

"Clean, responsive, English-speaking, good location in Wangfujing and 10-minute walk from Tian'anmen, but hotel does waste energy (they left the AC on in the room at 18 degrees during the day when no one was there -- please set it to 22 if you have to use it). And they also changed towels daily even though I used the towels in the bathroom only once. I wish they would save energy a little more. Otherwise, this hotel is in a great location, and the staff are responsive, hospitable, helfpul, and kind. Rooms are clean, though beds are a bit small (slightly smaller than American full sized beds). After being in China, I recognize that though I thought I was getting a good deal on the hotel, the prices I was paying for the hotel were "western" prices, not Chinese prices. I loved the jasmine tea in the room. Thank you."
