When you arrive in the hotel, you will think you're in a movie. The beautiful hall is a preview of the class of this hotel. Rooms are clean (really clean, not so easy in this country), big, the bed is the best one i got in the country, the swimming pool is really good and you can have your relax. Anything is perfect in this hotel, and the price i paid is really little for an hotel of this level. A plus i got: i paid a superior room, but when i arrived my room was upgraded to a deluxe ;) I visited several hotels in Beijing, and definitely i suggest you the capitol hotel. I guess is really difficult find another hotel that can offer you much more for the price you can find on the site. Btw, remember that all the services not included have a 5 stars price! Drink a can of coke from the mini bar inside the room will cost 8 or 10 times the coke street price, the laundry service to wash your panties will cost much more than buy a new one, use the internet cost 100 yuan per day, and so on. But if you avoid to use the additional service, i guess the room is really cheap considering the class of the furnitures, the beautiful bed, the number of towels, etc etc.

Our 4-night stay at this hotel was one of the best I've ever had. This hotel's location is perfect for me and my group, since we didn't have any tour arrangements and so we are reliant on the city's subway system. Right outside the hotel is the Chongwenmen station of Line 2 and in Beijing there are many transfer stations so reaching just one station is already fine and you can go just about anywhere you want. Also across the block is Mr. Lee's restaurant which is open 24/7 and they serve pretty good food. There's also the Sapporo Bakery beside the hotel, also selling nice-tasting breads. A little farther walk across the street takes you to a commercialized avenue with 2 huge malls, New World and Glory Mall (they have foreign brands such as Sephora, H&M, New Look, etc.) On this lane you can also find a KFC, a McDonalds, Starbucks, Haagen Dazs, Costa Coffee, etc. The hotel is a member of the Accor Group (also includes Sofitel) so you can expect superb service and hotel quality. The room is clean, spacious, with flat-screen TV, a clean bathroom and friendly staff. It's also reasonably priced (a little more would probably get me nearer Wangfujing but then again, with a subway in front of the hotel, it's easy to get there anyway.) Would definitely stay here again!

i arrived to a very friendly, helpful front desk with one member that spoke english. my chinese is pretty broken, but we were able to fumble through the check-in in reasonable time (i had lost my passport and was travelling with a temporary passport without a new chinese visa, so there were some phone calls that needed to be made to the government first; side note - don't lose your passport in china; it's one of the worst countries in the world to have this happen). when i went up to my room, i found it had not yet been cleaned from the previous guest. i left my luggage and went for dinner, hoping it would be taken care of by the time i returned. when i got back, it had been cleaned without my telling the front desk. the staff was very friendly and helpful during my stay. although i didn't try either of the restaurants, some of the other guests mentioned they were very good. i glanced at the menu, however, and found the prices extremely expensive. a quick 5 minute walk will take you to restaurants with better menus and way better prices. this hotel is right beside it's 5-star sister hotel, the sunworld dynasty hotel. this hotel is very nice, but in my opinion not worth the extra money unless you are travelling for business and need a nice place to meet associates (there is a beautiful central courtyard on the second floor with a skylight where they play lovely traditional chinese music in the evenings). overall, i would give this hotel a 4.5/5. the only real issue was my room not being cleaned before my arrival. i would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

The reception female staffs need more smile [which is rare in Beijing], the Mr. manager is better & helpful. we arrive early morning 6am with taxi meter off at RMB150, share with another passenger. waited at the lobby until 8am+ the bell man chase us off due to no ordering of drinks from the cafe. Then we go out side have a 1st walk at Wang Fu Jing st, just 5min walk distance! we had a noodle & dumpling at a nearby restaurant. we back to hotel at 10am & fortunately there's 1 room for us. checked in & took a nice shower with the strongest water pressure ever had... it's easy to take a bus to temple of heaven about 20min, then go to luo gu siang night market. 2nd day we join 1 day tour booked from hotel to great wall at RMB350/p, include lunch & ticket. it's a English speaking tour with mostly westerner. 3rd day we walk 15min to Forbidden city for 1 day visit, cant believe we walk back to hotel from back of forbidden city! 2 or 3km?.. 4th day check out & go to summer palace which takes 30min of subway, back to hotel at late afternoon & call a meter taxi [only RMB90+] to airport.

One of the best hotel I've stayed for holiday. Everything about the hotel have a high end feel and look; from the hotel lobby to hotel room, swimming pool, gym and etc. Our 2 young children totally love the room the moment we stepped into it! We were given a room on 15th floor with a big ceiling to floor window facing the city. The two double beds are very comfortable and is bigger then the usual double bed given in other hotels. The hotel has good location. Subway station is just at the right side of the hotel building (1-2 min walk). For shopping and night market, the famous Wangfujing shopping street is about 10-15min walk away. Several convenient shops around the hotels including one 24hrs opposite the hotel.

The concierge was great. The frontline staff at the check-in desk are second to none, fluent in all languages, friendly and welcoming. The room and restaurant facilities meet the 5 star rating. The breakfast was the best I had in all of China, including Shanghai. The experience exceeded all my expectations for a hilton hotel. My next stay in beijing will be here. Internet was fast and flawless which was critical to my work. This cannot be taken for granted in China. Beijing is a large city so if you are doing activities downtown, then this is the place to stay. If you are outside of the 3 ring roads, then you may need to pick a hotel more suitable to your location. Traffic around Wangfujing district can be brutal especially during rush hour.

This hotel is located at a good location, not too busy area and walking distance to Wangfujing. Only a few hundred meters away from the Dongdan Station, hence it's convenient for tourists. Staffs are very helpful, they assisted me to purchase the entrance tickets to the Palace Museum, assisted to book day tour to the Great Wall, assisted to call for taxi to the airport, etc. Breakfast is almost the same every morning, but staffs at the restaurant are attentive and helpful. Good value and I would like to thank the hotel staffs for the friendly services! :)

I stayed for 10 days and enjoyed the excellent service which was personal without being intrusive. Very nice surroundings and spacious rooms. I would not decorate my own home like this (or like any hotel), but it worked out fine and I enjoyed both the interior of the room and the rest of the hotel. Nothing at this hotel is the best ever, but almost everything is very good. In total I would rate it one of my best hotel experiences. In particular I enjoyed the bar/restaurant next to the lobby. Only negative experience I had was at check out. At check in they had sold me a package with free minibar for a set amount. It turned out that the package only included soda water, not mineral water and beer. A bit annoying to have to pay £3-4 for 2dl of water which you think is included.

I arrived after a very long fligh,rather tired,to be greeted by nice,polite and efficient young people at reception.Another kind youn man helped me with my luggage to my room.The room:big,beautiful,very comfortable bed,excellent matress,minibar well provided.Lights well sited,air condition working well.The bathroom ,complete,a la francaise,excellent.I must say that all this was a great surprise,much appreciated by Latin people like me.I was given some complementary fruit in me room,this was another good surprise.Lets us go to the dining room for breakfast:the reception girls,the young French manager?very polite and helpful.The waiters,discrete,efficient,polite.Buffet both Chinese and European ,again with the French touch of croissants,baguette,crepe and many other things.The Chinese side had a huge choice of different dishes as well,all fresh and tasty food. Back to the bedroom:I forgot to mention how generous toiletries and how nice and polite the room girls are,they manage to communicate in spite of not being fluent in English,but they do their best to please. Shops:I tried the clothes shop,top quality of very modern clothes and very nice shop attendant.Same commentaries for the shop nearest to reception,which sells of ort of Chinese beautiful things.Very polite lady working there.I did not use the currency exchange,but it is available all the time. Again reception people were nice,polite and efficient when I had to check out,both sorting out my account,dealing with my now heavy luggage and finding a proper taxi.The door man wrote the number of the taxi on a card which was given tome,just to make sure that everything goes smooth.This shows care and responsibility for the hotel guests till the very end. I would certainly like to come back,both to Beijing and to Novotel,Heping,at Jin Yu Hutong numer 3. Yours. M.Rambau.

The Crowne Plaza Beijing was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in - and I've stayed in a lot! The staff were amazing - they were so helpful, great English speakers and willing to do anything for anyone. The food was great also at the Club Lounge, Room Service & the Espresso Lounge. My room was huge! Super modern and great facilities. I would reccommened this hotel to anyone visiting Beijing - particularly if it is your first visit to the city. I can't wait to go back next year and stay at the Crowne Plaza Beijing again. Thank you to all the staff who made my stay so unforgettable!!!!

i felt really good. it's a lovely hotel in the middle of the hutong. lot of different courtyard and lot of flowers and plants. all the rooms are like small apartments with all the confort you'll need. i really reccomend it. the staff was perfect and very kind helping us with tours, taxi and everything else. lots of restaurants all around and 15 minutes walking to the forbidden city, 20 minutes to lama and confucio's temples. absolutly perfect.

Taxi from the airport to the Hotel about 40 minutes with traffic, total fare 110RMB. Check in was very easy and was in my room in about 10minutes from leaving taxi. There's a great foot/body massage spa as you turn left leaving the hotel, "Dragon Fly". I got a foot then body massage after walking the forbidden city, tiananmen square and other parts of the city.As I stayed longer, the more I realized people in china,I found to be extremely Money hungry. This was why my massage wasnt as good as it could have been. I dont really like to talk during a massage but my therapist small talked me as she gave my foot massage. I later realize this was just a build up so that she could segway into how customers usually tip more because the price for the massage is so cheap. Big turnoff for me. If you do go, be warned as to if a therapest starts to chat you up, tell her quiet is better stopping her before she cant get started:) . To the right of the hotel about a 5 minute walk and on the other side of the street, is the famous street food area. Beetles, seahorse, starfish and other strange things fried up and put on a stick. My tour guide took me to all these places from around 300pm til around 930pm. We also had time for hardrock cafe shopping and a Peking duck dinner were I was the only western person in the restuarant. Duck dinner for two along with two other dishes for about 18 US.dollars..fanastic!!! Getting back to the hotel. Inside everything was new. However, I'll never get used to these hard beds in china. Flatscreen tv with ESPN and other english speaking channels..MTV..BBC. Very sexy bathroom in that it had glass walls. From my bed I could see inside entire bathroom area. There is a Huge curtain that can be drawn for complete privacy however. If I ever need to stay in beijing for any reason, Ill stay here again. My tour guide Lily Made Beijing so much fun. This is the best hotel I stayed in Beijing. If you want to experience Chinese Culture in depth, you do not want to miss this hotel. The hotel is a heritage courtyard house of an ancient scholar back in the emperor's day (ask the luggage boy, he will tell you all about it). The layout of the rooms and garden, and the interior of the rooms and furniture are all very ancient style (not some cheap furniture), which will bring us back to the emperor's day, just like what you see in the movies. The staffs are all very friendly and polite, the receptionists and even the luggage boy. The luggage boy spend time tell us a lot about the history of this hotel, which make it more meaningful when you stayed in there. The location of the hotel is very near the City centre, in the alley way (hutong), but no big departmental store nearby. However it does give you a feel when you walk thru the hutong to the main street (quite safe in the hutong as there is a police station next to the hotel). 10 mins walk will bring you to a subway station, which will bring you to the downtown shopping area within 3 stations. Free wifi and broadband computer in the room, very handy. I will definitely stay in this hotel again if I go to Beijing as it leaves a very good impression.

The room was big and clean with all the amenities I expected. Breakfast was ok, but I have to give props to the hot pot restaurant, it was delicious and reasonably priced than outside hot pot restaurants. Location was good since it is near majors attractions but the hotel itself is located between 2 metro stops, so a 10 minutes walk to either metro entrance. Staffs were overall great, friendly and helpful, with the exception of the check in staffs of that particular night, they weren't mean or rude, just not particularly friendly or informative. I would definitely stay again though! Well worth the money and reasonably priced compared to other 4 stars hotels in the area.

The hotel isn't too bad but just not perfect. Overall rooms and services are ok. Breakfast is the pretty much the same stuff every day although there is a relative wide spread. The hotel is not inconvenient but it is not within close walking distance. Perhaps the few minutes of walking would be tolerable but in the summer heat, any minute less in the heat would be good. The nearest subway about 5 minutes away is the Cultural Center station but it requires multiple changes of lines to get to most of the attractions in Beijing. Wasn't as convenient as if you would stay near Line 1 or 2 or 4/5. Overall, the price isn't cheap too and can be considered steep. For the price, much more is expected. Hotel staff at breakfast also needs to explain more about the signing of the bill every morning for the breakfast before guest misunderstood that we may need to pay for breakfast when it's included in our package. Pool wasn't too bad with a slightly hot tub besides it. Didn't go to the gym.

While the staff deliver 5 star service the hotel's infrastructure is no longer 5 star, with the exception of the pool/gym. Ownership needs desperately to invest in a refurbishment of the rooms/halls, etc. That said, at the right price point, this hotel represents arguably the best hotel value in Beijing. Through a prepay/no refund deal available only on Agoda, my wife and I obtained a great price (excluding breakfast but including taxes for 5 nights in early Jan 2014) and, thus, enjoyed an excellent stay. Our grand deluxe room was quite comfortable and, when a few things needed fixing, the staff responded immediately and quickly resolved the issues. The lobby lounge is a very good spot for meetings over tea/coffee and the gym/pool are excellent. We did not eat in the hotel so no comment on dining. The location of the hotel is great and, for those interested, there is a subway stop less than 5 minutes walk. There are also coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, etc., all within a very short walk of the hotel. In sum, while this property is no longer 5 star in overall quality and certainly not nearly the same quality level as the rest of the Peninsula Hotels around the world, at the right price point it is worth considering and for visits to Beijing. We will certainly consider it for our next visit.

Stayed all over China this place is at the top of its price range. Not for the hotel or facilities. Location...subway around the corner key to traveling big cities in China. 4 of the biggest malls a block away. Forbidden city, T-square, and a hill for amazing views like 5mins west. The rooms are not huge nor impressive. But clean and spacious enough to be comfortable for the price. Good showers. TV. Decent beds. Drinking water which is actually so needed. Didn't try the menu or eat at the hotel restaurant why bother the streets are cheaper and food courts in the malls are actually very good quality. This place works as a safe, warm, and we'll priced place to drop bags explore the city and easily get home to a decent sleep

I was very excited to stay at a Waldorf Astoria. The staff is lovely, and for the most part speaks good English. However, a bit of a disaster while sleeping after aling journey the lighting system turned itself on at 2:30 AM and when I could not stand it any more, at 4:30 AM they sent up a technician that stayed working with a ladder and crawling into the crawl space - not to be fixed , when I returned at 10:00 AM. I had to pack all my bags and move nyself to a new room. And the worst part - they offered no credit or accommodation for basically ruinibg my first entire day. Note, the breakfast was okay, service delightful, and beds and baths luxury for Beijing. I would stay here again - if the price was conoarable to alike hotels in the area. The lobby was very small - for a Beijibg grand hotel - For the price, I should have stayed at the Pennusula or Grand Hyatt. Overall - I was comfortable - but expected more. Again - the staff - TOP NOTCH.

Took a bit of a tussle even with the baidu map to reach this place, but once you find it, you'll figure directions easily - great location close by Jingshan Park (literally 200m away), the forbidden palace and other closeby attractions. Location is not short of eateries and supermarkets, and is accessible with buses and a 15 minute walk to 2 different subway stations. Although customer service wasn't eloquent in English, they tried their best and was very helpful at check-in and when we had questions about directions and getting to the railway station. Room was pleasant and wifi works well too - nice place for a quick rest for a day of exploring. I'd definitely recommend staying here and would book another stay if I visit beijing again.

I used to work in one of the only 4 diamond hotels in my state in the United States. So i know what goes into a hotel and am usually very picky. This hotel was amazing. It was clean, they were polite, the staff spoke english. This was the highest class and overall best hotel i have ever stayed in. The pools were remarkable. Inside the changing rooms near the pool are a massive hot tub which could fit 30, a cold bath which could fit 15, and a suana and steam room. All seperated by sex. (My partner had her own in her changing room.) The restaraunt had a buffett for i think it was 88 yuan which was a deal. Great location. I live in beijing as a foreigner so this was just a get away night to have fun on the weekend. I will definitly be returning.

On websites, the hotel lists itself near Gugong (Imperial Palace) and Wangfujing, but it is 2-3 subway stops away. Nevertheless, it is conveniently located: walking distance to the Domestic Airlines Building (where you get on the airport bus for a one-hour ride), Tian'anmen Square, and Xuenwuming subway station (Lines 2 and 4). North of Tian'anmen is the Imperial Palace. The staff's service is excellent. I needed to repack a cardboard box, and the hotel provided me packing tapes. The wi-fi is complimentary, as are two bottles of water each day. There are a swimming pool and fitness center in the basement, but there is no wi-fi there. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but there are restaurants in small alleys (hutongs) across the street.

We love this hotel. This is a big hotel. A local 5 star hotel with spacios room, big size bathroom, very clean room and complete amenities. Superb location it is only 100 mtr away from Dongdan station (line 1 & 5) exit B facing to the Jianguo hotel and 200 mtr away to exit A & F facing to the malls at oriental. Subway transportation is the best way to explore beijing since it is very very difficult to find a local who can speak english. Wangfujing street it is around 1 km away from the hotel (right behind of the malls at oriental). I would definately recommend this hotel to everyone
