"We were originally going to stay for just one night, but because we only got to see one trail, and also because the hotel was so beautiful and the facilities were so good, we went ahead to extend our stay by one more night. The hotel rooms are big, clean and well-maintained, and the food is excellent, but the service is the real star of the show here. Because we changed our plans after we had booked our return train tickets, the staff had to assist us with changing the date and timing of our return trip. They did so (multiple times) without a single word of complaint, and all with a smile! They also are very knowledgeable, and will help you book day/half-day tours and spa appointments during your stay in the hotel. They ultimately refused to accept a tip from us, asking us to leave feedback on Agoda instead. All the staff at the hotel are stars, especially Queena and Michelle at the front desk. Kudos to Silks Place Taroko for giving us an experience to never forget. We will definitely be back for another stay."

"Forget about the five star resort nearby. In this place you will find great window views that Taroko George is famous for. If you plan to spend your time outdoors for trail and hiking, this is a great choice. The room itself was not as basic as we thought. On the contrary, it had everything that we would hope for: a quiet air conditioner, fridge, comfortable beds, spacious room... please consider this place. I recommend it strongly."

"Good location, near the entrance of the Taroko National Park and the bus stops. Liwu Hotel is old but well-kept. It bears with it a character so warm and familial, it made our stay relaxing and restful. It seems the hotel is family-run---based on the reviews I read. The staff speak little English but they were able to anticipate and help us with our concerns. We ate all our breakfasts and dinners at the hotel, and we always looked forward to the very tasty beef noodles after a day of hiking; all the meals were tasty and well prepared. The free buffet breakfast that came with the booking was ample and filling. If I ever go back to Taroko, I would stay at Liwu Hotel again. "
