Excellent customer service. Manager Otto from reception was a champion, so helpful. The staff, from reception, restaurant, gaming and house keeping were all friendly. Van pick up from Mukdahan to the resort. Return to Mukdahan after check out, excellent service. The room was big, air con very cold, comfortable bed. Very good buffet breakfast. Food and drink prices are cheap in the restaurant close to the front doors. The gaming floor, plenty of the usual games, cheap tables to your high rollers. Cons: The shower was narrow because of the shower screen, water super hot and fluctuated a little, so it was too hot at times. Can't take outside food or drink into the hotel. There's a mini mart near reception but only sells little cans of beer Lao but are reasonably priced at 40thb. The resort is out of town but the are taxis available to get around. Otto, the manager at reception spoke very good English and was a star organizing a few things for me.

Regret booking the room before arriving at the casino, could have easily gotten 1 night free from the casino. Can see that renovation works is ongoing, new furniture, but the control system is still old type.

Fun at the casino plus a nice room”

I went to the casino 3 days, and stayed in the hotel one night. The casino uses Baht and can change money for you at the cashier or at the bank that is inside. There are 2 Lao Bank ATMs inside, but neither would take my USA cards or my Bangkok bank card. Blackjack has 200 or 300 minimum tables. There is a 25 (or more ) baht side bet that you will get a pair with your first 2 cards. If they are suited it pays 30 to 1. Same color pays 10 to one, other pairs pay 5 to 1. I also played Caribbean Poker. Four tables with either 200 or 300 baht minimum. THe last day I was there a guy at the next table got a straight flush and won 87,000 baht on a 25 baht side bet. The drink ladies don't seem to walk around, we had to summon them. Sometimes a cart of free food (noodles) came around. THey had some gorgeous ladies walking around with baskets with cans of beer, I don't know if they were free or not. THere are lots of Baccarat tables, Tiger/Dragon too. Lots of slots and some Roulette,even Sic Bo machines. THere is a stand selling milkshakes, and a dessert place with cakes and ice-cream (2 big scoops only 33 baht). THere is a pizza place that has good pizzas in 3 sizes. They also have rice dishes. THere is a bar in the center. THe big restaurant has buffets 3 times a day. I only had the breakfast the day I stayed at the hotel as it was included. They had fried eggs in a pan, toast, coffee, tea, juice, baked beans,sausages, bacon, tofu, noodles, soup, mini donuts. It was pretty good. If you don't like the buffets, the room service menu was nice, and not that expensive. I had Pad Thai with chicken for 120 baht, it was very good. I also had a beef burger with fries for 170 baht. THe American breakfast was 360 but I didn't try it. The hotel check in time is 2 PM but they let me have the room at 12:30. It was a big room with a view of a soccer field, very quiet at night. THey say there is no Wifi in the rooms but I got a signal good enough for email and Facebook. It's free. THere is a

Enjoyed Our Stay , although only 1 night , and found the experience to be much more enjoyable , than some on here , have recently suggested. No complaints and for an occasional couple of days , a great change i think from everyday life in Laos .I shall return .

Better than expected”

Before booking, I had read a couple of negative reviews and was somewhat apprehensive. More so for the wife's sake than mine, but I wanted a casino experience and booked anyway. On arrival we were very courteously greeted and offered a soft drink whilst we went through the check in process. The staff were very pleasant and polite and we were soon in our room ( a double non smoking room) The room was spotless and very comfortable with tea and coffee available also free wifi which the bell boy very quickly connected for my wife's use . I learned later that all rooms are under renovation and if the room we stayed in is anything to go by, they are doing a really good job - very pleasant. The casino was a reasonable size offering 150 or so different slots and various table games . The currency used is Thai baht in all machines although a lot of machines showed $. You must either be Thai or have a Thai companion to properly enjoy this venue. I was wanting to play blackjack but the layout of tables is very confusing for a Westerner. the only redeeming value was the breakfast buffet with omelette bar. I guess just having a goatee was enuf for the staff to laugh at me. the hotel is separated from the town so you are pretty much trapped their. other than the Chopstick cafe the prices are ridiculous if ur on a budget. ** since I am posting in English this will only address foreign visitors.

This hotel is cheap, and the room is very good, with good internet, and good facilities in the room, the breakfast is good. But the hotel is for people who come to Savannakhet for play at the Casino at the hotel. If you only want to sleep in a nice and cheap room, this hotel is good, but if yopu want to relax at the hotel area this hotel is not the hotel you should stay in. The hotel consist of the rooms and the casino, and spa, nothing else, but if you are coming to Laos for playing casino this is the perfect location for you.

The best Hotel in Savannakhet”

Feel very confident for staying here and also with the entertainment. Only complaining on the shower, some room, the water isn't coming out much, some room, the shower is only working with the hot water coming out. I really don't understand about it. Since it is a casio as well, why the fitness wasn't so well and no swimming pool.

good hotel if you like casinos in a boring town”

Hotel is ok but noway 5 star. Maybe 5 laos star. I would say 2-3 star. How ever had a good day during my visarun because nothing else to do in that boring town. A la cart restaurant was good breakfast not good

Good for Gambling, nothing else”

Basically to sum this place up, Its a place specifically for Thai Gamblers (As my Friend wants to gamble), lots of busloads of Thai Aunties and Uncles arrived to gamble and therefore everything is geared to this group mainly. Hardware wise, its excellent, of course, as this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel. Software (i.e Staff etc?), Nope, sorry to say, it does not deserve to be 5 star quality. English is rarely spoken, think during our 2 nights stay only one of the staff we encountered (think she was the manager?) spoke decent English, the rest spoke horrible english, once when we ask a question to a normal staff she walked away (most likely as she did not know English! ) My friend used Laundry Service, it was supposed to be available until 9pm, but at 8.30pm they did not came (think they feel its too late?) Although they did a good job with the laundry Breakfast is edible, but nothing great, as mentioned, its catered for Thai Tourists. Very funny actually, we were given only 1 breakfast coupon for the 2 of us, and we came down on different time, it was supposed that they only allow people with coupon in? But my friend smoked them that i was inside and they just let him past, think when we speaks english it really stress them out We also ask their staff to write in Laotian the Dinosaur museum, what did she write? A souvenir shop nearby as it has Dinosaur Decoration! Just also to take note, the Tuk Tuks outside likes to fleece people coming in and out, need 200 Baht for a 7 km ride (their locals pay way lesser than that) Basically expected, Casino located out of town so as to make traveling difficult so pple can stay to gamble, and in the viewpoint of those Tuk tuks, those who came here are "rich" so they upped their fees by a huge margin

Disappoinnting”

I'm sure the hotel was beautiful when new. It needs a good cleaning and upgrade of all the basics along with renovation of infrastructure. Carpets were stained, bed linens worn out, pillows and mattress needed to be replaced. Bathroom had leak under sink, lots of caulking covering up what really needed to be done, shower doors didn't have rollers and the bottom channel was filled with a black sludge that floated back and forth. This place isn't a five star.I'd give a one maybe a two(some rooms may be better than mine) A double was the only room available when I purchased. I would have gotten a suite. Don't know if the extra cost would have made a difference. Eating there was unpleasant at best although the free breakfast was edible. They need to learn to clean off tables when customer leaves and try wiping off with some kind of liquid cleaner. All the tables had residue from previous customers. Had to search for a empty one with the least crumbs and spillage.

terrible makes me doubt agoda's validity as a booking agent anyone that would recommend this hotel needs to be seriously looked at. despite the fact it is nowhere near a 5 star hotel most of the things they claim to have don't exist. the pool is boarded up, there is no free wifi in the rooms only common areas. the rooms are dated and in terrible condition. the food is atrocious. the service is poor the prices are outrageous and it isn't even a decent casino. there is nothing for kids to do there. i wouldn't recommend anyone stay here it could be in fact the worst hotel i have ever stayed in you would be better off in a youth hostel. terrible

Good value for money in Laos”

Good value in Laos where rooms are more expensive than neighboring countries. You have to cross the whole casino gaming floor from reception to the elevators to the rooms. Breakfast has a decent selection, however is mostly cold. Room service was very slow, mini bar is way over priced, and not all rooms have in room safe. However I have and would stay here again whenever I come to Savannakhet.

Clean and comfortable but far from the city”

First, I want to say that this hotel does not deserve 5 stars even if it is quite good compared to other offers in Laos. The hotel is clean and comfortable but nothing special. Note that it is noisy at night because there is a nightclub nextdoor. Don't go there if you want to explore the city as it is quite far, use only this hotel if you want to play in the casino.

Large, Comfy Beds with the casino view”

This is the hotel in casino where all the rooms surround the big room of all casino entertainment. There is also a spa in the other building (I did not have a chance to try). What impress me is the size of the twin beds - they are very comfy and big enough for two persons. Also, the clean and standard room is impressive. Tip: If you want to play the casino after you check out, you should tell the reception to book the bus in case you need to go the border.

peaceful, after travelling rough for a few weeks this was a welcome stop. food is great, live bands sound pefect. staff try very well to communicate in english. only downside is the pool is closed and the vew is into the casino floor, so you are always remind to try yo.ur luck
