Best hotels & accommodations in Kong Lor Cave

we stayed here for 4 nights in total and really enjoyed our stay. We had a river- front room and were amazed by the stunning view over the river and the jungel. The location is truly magical. One day we rented a rowing boat and went up the clearwater river which was like nothing we've ever seen before! Its about 3 km away from the tham kong lor cave! we also have to...

The Kong Lo View Hotel and Resort is a work-in-progress. It has been under construction for approximately 5 years, and when it is complete, it will be marvellous. It is not yet complete. Most of the rooms are still under construction. During our stay an outlet came out of the wall and a water spigot in the shower came off the wall, resulting in a jet of water spray...

Ban Kong Lor is THE place to stay if visiting Tham Kong Lor (cave). Incredibly quiet and isolated village location. The actual village (behind the run of guesthouses on the "main" road is leafy and offers up to 20 Homestays, nearly all of which did not seem to have guests when we were there. The river behind the village is a must-walk in morning or evening. However if ...

My bungalow was beautiful, made from local material in typical Lao style. The resort was well located for Thom Kon Lor cave. The owner let me have her personal motorbike for 100.000 kips ( about £10 )for the day. There is a minibus available free for the residents to the nearest bus stop. The food is excellent and reasonably priced.

Khounmee Guesthouse is in the middle of a small village in one of the most awesome setting in Asia. The bamboo rooms are lovely and each opens onto a view of rice and tobacco fields hemmed in by spectacular jagged limestone ranges. The rooms are cleaned every day and each as a small verandah and hammock to simply relax and be. Staff are professional and friendly and s...

The place is OK. The bus from/to Vientiane starts/ends right at the lodge. The view is unimpressive, which is OK. The price via Agoda was twice what the walk-ins paid. If you take the direct bus from Vientiane, walk in and ask for a room instead. There are plenty of other options as well.

The food offered by their restaurant is great. There is free wifi. The rooms are old and very dated. Not exactly dirty but far from clean. No screens on the windows. Not a lot of additional things offered. We stayed there because it says it also rents boats. We wanted to rent a kayak or something. Only rental available was a motor boat group tour which was expensive. O...
