"we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here (3 nights). most westerners seem to quickly pass through kota bharu on the way to the perhentians, but we feel it is well worth staying a couple of nights at least. we found the people to be generally friendly & accommodating. our room was clean & comfortable with a man-size bath & shower. even room service meals were cheap & delicious. the staff were very friendly & prompt in rectifying any minor problems. their english was a little limited at times but certainly much better than our bahasa. we paid approx. us$230 for 3 nights in a premier room with a quality buffet breakfast included. excellent value! kota bharu is a hidden gem (imho) - easy to walk around, vibrant markets, interesting history & culture, great food & retail if desired."

"An old beauty - one of the earliest hotels in Kota Bharu has been refurbished. With new modern design, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. However, there are a few rooms for improvements: 1. Bathrooms are too small. A person has to know how to squeeze oneself when using the bathroom 2. Some of the rooms are quite new, even, the contol dashboard for room amenities (lighting, TV and etc) are not properly connected and haywire 3. Food during breakfast are abundant. However, has to upgrade the seating area a little bit more as people might feel a little claustrophobic "

"I took my family to Kota Bharu on the 11 November and we decided to stay at the hotel after seeing the good review of the hotel.Initially I found it difficult to go to the hotel but after asking around I managed to find it.Since then, I had no difficulties moving around as the hotel is strategically located and is near to all the places of interest. The room is clean, spacious and nice but the toilet is a bit too small and cram. There is no window in my room and it is a death trap if there is a fire.Morever the room is too near and there is no ledge for the adjoining room.My neighbour was very noisy and the smoke was trapped in between the corridor making the place very smelly. The hotel management should put a sign that no smoking is allowed in the rooms and my neighbouts were banging the wall eventhough it was past midnight.Anyway we had a nice stay except for these few reasons above."
