The accommodation is great for the price. However, the water sports fees are a bit expensiveㅠㅠ You need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. Especially for women, make sure to bring rinse or treatment. There is rinse available at the accommodation, but it makes your hair feel like a broom. The food is tasty, but if you're on a long trip, make sure to bring ramen, kimchi, seaweed, and instant rice. I'm a fan of Korean food, so it was tough for me. The Maldives is an area excluded from roaming services. The accommodation offers free Wi-Fi, but it only works well at the reception and not so much in the rooms. There is an internet fee of $15 per day or $50 for five days. I didn't use it. Also, there are no life jackets provided at the resort. I saw turtles, big sharks, and squid at the dock. Many people do snorkeling there, but the water is deep, so we only went for one day. My daughter almost fell into the deep water. There are no safety personnel anywhere. Life jackets are not available, so you may need to check at the diving center. I heard that snorkeling equipment costs $11 per day, so we bought ours in Korea. Bicycles are also $5 a day. The island is quite large, taking about two hours to go around. Mosquitoes bite often, so you need repellents and ointments. As the weather is hot, it’s good to prepare a fan as well. Some beach bungalows have a direct sea view, while others have sea views but are obstructed by the beach villas, resulting in a poor view. The area near them doesn’t have many fish, but there’s some seaweed at the beach bungalows at the bottom, making it look messy, yet there are many fish. Six baby sharks swim there daily, and there are also large rays. In the morning, when the tide is low, we saw a big shark and a particularly large ray from the breakwater, as well as fish jumping in schools. However, be careful as there’s algae and strong waves. The staff is incredibly friendly; the cleaning staff cleans twice a day and is very kind. They set up four bottles of water in the accommodation each day. It seems like the underwater environment is very nice in the Maldives because it's quite deep. One challenge we faced was communication difficulties at the accommodation. Despite contacting them several times and mentioning our flight multiple times, they kept giving generic responses instead of addressing our specific questions. Also, at the place for handling seaplane check-in, others were assisted, but we only got directions and ended up struggling with how to check in our luggage. The staff told us to take the bus, and I wondered if that was right. 😭 We can’t speak English and don’t know Malay, so we struggled a lot since our phones couldn’t roam in that area. 🤣 I experienced that without even knowing about roaming. I just relied on translation, haha! Still, we had a good trip, enjoyed ourselves, and returned safely.
