A wonderful place to stay in Dali”
The hostel was difficult to find due to a lack of street signs, but once we got there our room was well appointed and spotlessly clean. The bathroom had a deep bathtub with a shower in it. The hostel is on the edge of a local market - as in just go outside and you are can buy your fruit or vegetables. But each room has good window insulation. We caught bus #8 from Xia Guan where the bus from Kunming arrives. We went to the terminus, but didn't know to turn right at the next street which is Pingdeng Street. A useful landmark, (and a good place for breakfast), is the Swiss Cafe. If you continue all the way down Pingdeng Street, past the church and through the market you will arrive at La Maison du Lao Shay. It is much easier to catch the bus from Xia Guan that goes to the three pagodas in Dali and get off at the vegetable market. The hostel has wifi, a lovely living room as well as an outdoor sitting area. We don't fit in the usual demographic for youth hostels, but the hostel had a range of guests and is a lovely place for all ages to stay. It is very quiet at night. Some guests may find the stairs, the high step up into the bathroom and deep bath problematic. The young manager speaks enough English for non-Chinese speakers to easily cope. Highly recommended.

Clean hotel near Dali Market”
The room was very clean but hot water was the problem, the flow of water was not strong and sometimes it didn;t come out at all, in the winter time this is big problem. The bathroom has bathtub. Very close to Dali Market where you can buy fresh fruits.

Won't mind to stay again next time”
The hostel is located within the old city of Lijiang. close to public transportation and other tourist spots like the three pagodas and Changshan rope way. Local morning market nearby for fresh local food, fruits and vegetables.

I really enjoyed my stay at Lao Shay hostel”
I really enjoyed my stay there. Very nice staff. I've met a bunch of nice guests there too. The man I would call him the manager is so nice .The day I left, all the guests gothered to make dumplings. It was fun. I liked it.It's a lovely place.

No heater in a room. Only hot water can make you feel little warm but water pressure is too weak so it is hard to say 'taking a shower' Location is OK.

Bien situado (fuera de la zona más turística, al lado de un mercado de comida fantástico que ningún amante de la cocina se debería perder, muy tranquilo). Personal muy amable y con razonable inglés. La habitación es amplia y con baño y ducha separados. Muy limpio. Muy recomendable.

agoda予約で1泊。プラス1日延泊。 麗江から戻ってきて1泊で、計3泊した。 3泊とも4人ドミトリーに1人だけで、シングル同様に使えた。 春節前の寒い時期だったが、ベッドに敷かれた電気マットが 思っていた以上にあたたかくここちよかった。 スタッフのおじさんもおねえさんも親切。 WiFiあり。レンタサイクルあり。ウォーターサーバーあり。 ドミトリールームに鍵付きロッカーあり。 レセプションに他の街のホステルカードあり。 滞在期間中、宿に関していやなことはひとつもなかった。 もしまた大理に行くとしたら、またここに泊まると思う。

フロントの対応が良い”
大理市内の観光に利用しました。リジャンから大理へは長距離バスで移動しましたが途中の街道で下ろしてしてもらってすぐです(大理古城と言えばわかります)ホテルはユースですがとても穏やかで清潔な感じで快適です。バスタブもあるのでゆったりつかれました。
