1. Very close to Qixingtan, you can walk to the beach every night to listen to the sound of the sea crying. 2. Very close to the convenience store, you can buy alcohol anytime. 3. The Longgong Coffee across the street is great, and you can become an internet celebrity in three seconds. 4. Suitable for friends who don't want to go anywhere but the beach. 5. The backpacker room has no curtains, so you can't do naughty things but you can do good things - make new friends. 6. If you don't want to make new friends, renting the whole place is not expensive. 7. Because there were no other guests when I went, it was almost like renting the whole place, a win-win situation. 8. Seriously, the location here is really great, and the value for money is really high. If you, like me, just want to spend the whole day at the beach, this is a great choice.

Traveling alone, this hostel is definitely the top choice for accommodation and travel in Qixingtan! Great value for money! It's only a 5-minute walk to Qixingtan, and there are delicious food nearby. At night, there are comfortable mattresses waiting for you, making it a wonderful day!

During the stay at Lia Backpacker Youth Hostel, the staffs are fabulous and friendly, the room are clean and comfy to stay, really making the hostel feel like staying at own home. Close proximity to Chishingtan, a beach famous in Hualien, making the stay more valuable. However, it is far from town area, need taxi to travel around attractions in Hualien area.

Great experience of community living”
Owners of Lia are advocates of community living in hualien. Lia is a self help hostel fitting for people who like to experience community living in a traditional fisherman housing renovated with modern facilities (e.g. air conditioner, safe, hot water, digital lock) at the most scenic beach in hualien (with mostly expensive hotels around). Lia is clean and convenient with friendly staff. Walls are not sound proof but ear plugs are provided. Saves are available but people need to bring their own batteries (4x 2a). It's 3 min walking distance from the beach. Great place to stay to watch sunrise and sunset.

Stay at Lia for 2 nights. The hostel is closed to the beautiful beach which is not more than 5 5mins by walk. You can see the sunset and sunset if the weather is good! Comfortable bed and common area. The most important is staff are cheerful and fiendly. Just like a friend, they are willing to talk with you, sharing with you. Lok Lok is lovely girl and introduce many activities to me which make my trip is so unforgettable!Lia / backpacker are amazing !

The hostel is near to family mart and qixingtan. The staffs are nice and I can chat with other guests at night. It is good to stay here if you want to make friends with other travellers. The place is so comfortable that I felt like home. I will go to Lia hostel again if I visit hualien in the future.

Lia is located quite far from Hualien, but a very short walk from the beach and to the bus stop for Taroko Gorge. Qixintang, where the hostel is, is very peaceful, but not much night life, depends what you want. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, washing facilities and free tea and coffee.

Insanely cheap, great location for beach and Taroko gorge, and very friendly staff. The staff was also very very helpful after the big Hualien earthquake, I felt very safe the whole time in consequence. For that reason, I wish I could give more than 5 stars. The ONLY disadvantage is that there are very few restaurants around. Other than that, it's the perfect hostel.

Lia is a an wooden house converted to a hostel, it is clean yet retaining the ancient retro design house. Great location and walking distance to the beach, and at that price, no other premises can match it especially for a solo traveler, and cost is the main concern.

Great Staff, Nice, Quiet Hostel”
The staff were unbelievably friendly, the rooms were clean, just a few minutes walk to the beach. The hostel is quite a way out from Hualien and the buses stop running early so it's not ideal for partying, but if you're there for Taroko Gorge it's a good location, the bus stop is a 7 minute walk and there's always something going on in the park nearby.

The only backpacker hostel in cising tan”
Stayed one night in 4 bed female dorm the hostel is still new and undergoing some renovation but it didnt bother my stay being the only hostel in the area, Lia has it all air conditioned rooms, free wifi, friendly staff, right next to family mart 3 min walk to shore cising tan is a nice place to see stars and sunrise it is also a perfect place for cycling along the beautiful seashore

Initially booked a night here but after checking in, decided to stay another night for so many reasons. Location is super convenient as its only within 3minutes of walking distance to Seven Star Beach, and it is located right next to Family Mart that opens 24/7. The interior of the hostel is also funky and many of the DIY furnitures and spaces is a fun thing to appreciate. Absolutely love the whole environment of this place as it is so much more laid back and relax, perfect for those who wish to escape from urban city buzz. Staff is also super friendly and makes you feel right at home. Le-le (the host) even went over and beyond in assisting me with all my travel plans in Hua Lien. Definitely left that place with a heavy heart.

Although the location might not really convenient by public transport, but it definitely worth to stay as their staffs are friendly and treat me as friend. Feel lots of warm and caring here as a solo traveller. Other facilities are good enough too.
