2bedroom suite,nice design, clean, friendly staff”
Friendly staff, nice design, clean and everything u find in a 5star hotel, u find it. Location is in an Alley, u have to call them once u reach shuhe as u don't want to spoil your lugguge wheels. Staff will come with the cart to carry ur lugguge in. is abt 10min walk from the north gate carpark, 指挥部 （zhihuibu)。No direct car access to most hotel there as is an ancient town. In English is lijiang huifeng, on the door entrance, they rename it as wu er. Entrance is zen design where u can see smoke appearing and the water step towards in. wooden decorated hotel & room. I am fussy abt toilet amd their toilet is modern style which I feel great. amenaties is full set with toothbrush etc, bonus washing detergent. No clothes hanger in toilet but thats ok. they have in the room. I was having free upgrade from them as previous booking was taken in but I still pay for what I booked for. The family 2bedroom has 2 rooms with huge bed that accomdate max 6 ppl I guess. the living room is awesome with teaset. First time I can stay in room without tv by the bed as I can fall asleep in their comfortable sandbag sofa. Sorry to cause plumbing to be activate, china toilet pipes issue.

Beautiful hotel with the best services”
We would highly recommend this hotel to people traveling to Lijiang/ shuhe. Conveniently sit in the heart of the ancient Shuhe town ( near Lijiang but much less commercial and crowded than lijiang), this hotel provides a good base for traveling around the region. The court yard and all the rooms are well decorated with good taste and local flavors. Fresh flowers can be seen in every room. The staff make good local Puer Tea for guests (free of charge) any time. They are very warm and genuine, with passion for their jobs. They also give good tourism advice. Among all the boutique hotels we have stayed around the world, Huifeng is definitely outstanding, with its attention to details, genuine services and strong characters.

Wonderfull small courtyard hotel in Shuhe”
Staying in Shuhe instead of Old Town Lijiang is definately recommended, and is only a 6 km. bikeride away. In Shuhe you will be spoiled for hotel choice, and Huifeng Inn is one of them. Huifeng Inn is a very nice courtyard hotel with many different rooms. We stayed in a family room which was basically two rooms connected by internal staircase (two stories, space for 4 adults, two bathrooms). Our friends had a "regular room". All rooms seem to have flatscreen TV(s), decent bathrooms, a sofa-group and double beds. In general very very nice to the price. The internal courtyards are nicely decorated and acts as an extended living room when weather is nice. There is no restaurant as such, but breakfast can be ordered in-house - or you can pop out to the street market 1-2 minutes walk from the hotel. In the evening both high-end and low-end restaurants are extremely close, which is nice. The hotel has a nice outdoor pool, and even if it is too cold, it is still a nice place to hang out around. We would also like to highlight the very helpful personnel - not least They can help with anything from Breakfast (RMB 10 for noodle soup), to booking of bicycles as well as trips out-of-town (e.g. to Shangri-La) at very reasonable rates and with very short notice. We regret that we paid twice as much to a tour agency, when the on-site staff could have solved all of our challenges at much lower cost. Thank you for a good stay!

Don't search further”
I say stop looking because I'm the type of person who does a lot of research but still worries if I made the right choice. I can't imagine there is a place much better than Huifeng. The location is perfect. They arranged a van to pick us up at the airport (free since we were staying 3 nights or longer). They met us at the parking lot of Shuhe old town and carted our luggage to the hotel which is in the center of the old town. By the way, do not stay in Lijiang old town...way too commercialized with a McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut in the town center. The room was spacious and well appointed. They had a washer and dryer that was free to use. They had the BEST rice noodles (mi xian) for breakfast. The only complaint would be that they should open the kitchen earlier than 0830, but the ayi does shop for fresh ingredients prior to cooking, causing the delay. All in all, highly recommend and will stay there again next time around.

Lovely staff, spacious rooms, great value”
Had a great stay at this hotel. The staff arranged a pickup and drop off for us at the airport, which was great as we would have had trouble finding this hotel on our own. The suburb of Shuhe is about a 10 minute cab ride from the Lijiang old town, but the shopping right around the hotel was just as good as what you see in old town Lijiang. Their staff, especially spoke great English and were a great help in telling us about where to go and where to eat around town. There is a lovely courtyard that is great for reading a book or chatting with friends. The rooms were great too, spacious with a big bathroom. Reliable wifi in the rooms was great too. Great value as well, it's tough to beat the price per night here!

lovely hotel, will go back again”
It is a great experience staying in Huifeng Hotel. Staff was so helpful and friendly (including owner herself). We got a great room (probably the best room of all), loved the decor and and the space. Location is at Shuhe town, which might not be the most commonly chosen area for tourists, but we loved it for the quietness and for avoiding the usual crowd. A kitchen lady cooked a couple meals for us (at cost but very cheap) and that was delicious. Even though it might be one of the slightly more expensive hotels compared to its peers, i think it is definitely a good choice we have made and i will go back there again for my next visit.

Great courtyard hotel with excellent service”
We had read the reviews at TripAdvisor and chose to stay at this hotel Location: --------- Shuhe Old Town (UNESCO site) - approx. 6 km. from Lijiang. Which is GREAT, as Lijiang is too crowded. Shuhe is not, yet there is lots to do in town and around it. We stayed 4 nights and got around on bike, arranged by the hotel. Hotel: ------ The hotel was truely wonderful. We had a family suite, with two separate bedrooms, two bathrooms w. showers and two TV's - good enough for family or couples travelling together. Lower bedroom also had sofa area. Really felt like a suite :-) Outside courtyard in front with nice furniture for outdoor sitting, and reception is on the way out, where you'll also pass the beautiful pool. Only drawback is the lack of a hotel dinner restaurant. But then, the restaurant area is 2 minutes away, and you are welcome to bring food to hotel, and use hotel utensils for dining. Breakfast is arranged at the hotel - let them know the evening before if you wish for western breakfast. Their chinese noodle soup breakfast is excellent, though. Staff was extremely helpful and arranged bikes for us, as well as a minivan for a two-day trip to Shangri-La for some other guests. All prices - both at hotel and for arranged tours - are extremely reasonable. We had a better stay than at most 5-star hotels I have visited.

A really nice place to be”
the huifeng inn was a very comfortable and attractive place to stay for a few days. this hotel is located right in the middle of beautiful shuhe, yet is still tucked away and quiet. the staff is very friendly and always helpful with arranging transportation to the local sights. on our last night a group of naxi women visited the hotel and had a dance in the courtyard. we were both very happy with the huifeng and wished we could have stayed longer.

Quaint Bontique Hotel with Excellent Service”
My partner and I arrived early morning at the train station so the hotel arranged a driver for us for ¥60 RMB. Since our room wasn't avaliable yet, they quickly gave us another room (the deluxe suite) and encouraged us to shower and sleep. Jet speaks excellent English and is very helpful in providing directions and finding us the best deals. He told us that the owner designed everything himself and is soon to open a new boutique hotel. This hotel is about 2 years old and definitely worth the price and location (located in ShuHe, which is a ¥15-20 RMB away from Old LiJiang). We're planning to return--thank you for making our holiday an enjoyable one!

The best in Lijiang”
we stay 2 nights and want to stay more. everything is perfect. jerry, the owner, speak english very well. he was very helpful, he help us planned our trip and suggest the best choice for us. he also sent us to bus station and help us buy the tickets. some of his staff also speak english and full of service mind. cherry help us hire a car, bargained, plan the trip and wrote every thing into chinese so we can communicate with the driver. she brought us to the cheapest and most helpful tour agency, to a very good restaurant and help us ordered local food, to a computer shop when we wanted to print a document and also stay with us to communicate with the locals. the hotel is new and very beautiful, flowers, swimming pool, local dancing floor. (if the hotel is full, jerry will set a traditional dancing party and invite every quest to join) room are clean, free wifi, green tea, heater, anything you should have in 5-stars hotel you will found here we will recommend this hotel to anyone who go to lijiang.

Lovely hotel with great taste and details”
This hotel located 5 minutes away from Lijiang at another ancient town called Shuhe. The area is much less commercial and tourist overloaded. The hotel contain 3 nice court yards with a small swimming pool in the first courtyard. It is perfect oasis for summer time. Each rooms are unique and the decoration is amazing with a lot of thoughtful details. The service is great and the staffs are nice. The hotel even provide complimentary laundry service which is great as most of the travelers are coming from Shagri-la or Dali. Even better, the hotel Ayi actually prepare home made breakfast and dinner based on request. My kids really like the hotel and particular enjoy the courtyards and interaction with other guests.

Fantastic find”
a fantastic stay, we arrived late at night and the young owner was there to meet us and carry our bags as there was limited car access to the inn. they also didn't offer breakfast but because we arrived late they offered breakfast to us for the next day as we were getting up early for a tour, and it was a great breakfast. the rooms are located around courtyards, and are large, with a lounge area and a very large bed! the bathroom is then a decent size which the shower takes up half of it! everything is done really well. the owners are very friendly, and the people who stay there are mainly chinese, and they also were very friendly. one evening my friend sat down to have tea with the owner and another guest, they all made friends, and then invited us out to dinner that night. we went to a traditional lijiang food restaurant which we never would have found or gone to! all in all a fantastic place to stay - there are a lot of inns to choose from and all look pretty and charming but i think the rooms and the owners make this place stand out.

This and the friedly and helpful staff gives a feeling of hospitality which certainly can not be matched by standard chinese hotels. Dinner is provided upon request - very excellent. Note that it can get cold at night when staying late in November as I did. However, a heater and heating blanket are provided. It is also noteworthy that the hotel is not located in the old town of Lijiang but in Shuche which is about 6 km north.

Fantastic rooms, in the Lijiang old town”
We stayed at this hotel for 1 night at the end of our Yunan trip. We first stayed in Shuhe and decided to spend New Year's Eva at this hotel The room was fantastic, great design, very clean and with all amenities of a luxury hotel. The location is also very good - right next door to the Lijiang Old town. We were a little bit disappointed by the quality of food, though the restaurant design was very good and staff were friendly. It was very quiet for New Year's Eve but I guess it's not as bif as Chinese New year. Not a bad place to stay if you are spending a few days in Lijiang.

Great rooms and location with average service”
I chose this hotel because it was rated #1 on TripAdvisor and this is the first time I felt the ranking was not accurate. That, or maybe the other hotels in the Lijiang area are not that spectacular. The hotel decor and location were gorgeous, but the service was just mediocre. For international travelers who have lived/traveled China a bit, the service (that we received anyway) at Huifeng is just about standard for China, not up to international standard. We arrived at the airport to find that our pre-arranged airport pick-up was missing. Upon calling the hotel, we were told the driver would be 50 minutes late due to traffic (translation: deflecting the blame; there is nothing we can do about it). So we waited and a random guy approached and asked if we were going to the Huifeng Hotel. He showed us our reservation name on his cell phone so we got in his car. After driving for about 10 minutes, we got a call from the hotel that our driver had arrived and was waiting for us at the airport. This did not give us a sense of security as it made us wonder who we were in the car with. In the end, the miscommunication was cleared up but we were mostly greeted with a "sorry" from a staff member when we finally arrived at the hotel. Perhaps a formal apology from a manager/the owner or some kind of gesture would have soothed the situation and been the norm for a proper hotel. But the staff seemed unsure of what could compensate for the delay and uncomfortable even talking about it. The rest of the 3 nights we stayed was mostly delightful. Staff were courteous and rooms were clean. Several reviewers commented on the flawless English spoken by the hotel owner. We did not see him and mostly interacted with the one staff member who spoke basic English. We spoke Chinese so it was not a problem but we did expect to be able to communicate with the hotel easily in English based on those reviews.

Great hotel manager. Leak in bathroom was annoying”
Leak in bathroom thru-out our first stay (We were scheduled to return three days after). I called the manager and he immediately brought in two floor mats and laid them down on the wet floor. But the leak got worse overnight so I added bath towels on top. The following days the cleaning staff took the wet bath towels away for washing but did not change the soaking wet floor mats. It was cold in April in Lijiang but there was no heating in our hotel room. But at least we were comforted by the wonderful heated mattress at night. There are some very old, unappealing plants in the room, and I have no idea why they would display something like that in a hotel room, especially these plants were placed above and next to the bed. On the positive side, the manager of the hotel was just wonderful; he was very easy going, well informed, and very helpful with booking of train and bus tickets.

Comfortable living in heritage buildings”
Inevitably, in autumn, and at 2400 metres altitude, the Old City of Shuhe is thin-aired and cold in the shade and at night. In-room heater and electric blanket help but it is still difficult to enjoy waiting for the shower's hot water tap to start pouring out cheering warmth. Know about the climate before you go, or don't go - even the Zhang Yimou Impressions spectacle will be a diminished pleasure if a visitor is shivering and in need of oxygen tank puffs. Of its type - heritage preservation - the three-courtyard 16-room Huifeng family complex is one of the world's most charming.

Great service”
Jet took care of us during our stay and made sure that our needs were attended to. We arrived late at night and arranged for pick up by the inn. It was it easy to find in the dark and also a walk away from where cars are allowed to park I'm Shuhe. Upon arrival, Jet asked if we have eaten and arranged for a homecooked meal for us. He also walked out with us the next day to make sure we could get transportation to the bus station at Lijiang. Overall good stay!

Lovely hotel in beautiful village”
this is a really charming hotel, situated in shuhe, a small village, not far from lijiang. the hotel is built around two courtyards. there is a small swimming pool for the summer. the staff is very pleasant and helpful. the rooms are decorated in unique style and are very comfortable with big wooden bed and sitting area. hotel is full of flowers.
