Every things are very good. Only a little pricey for the room and beverage to order to the room. For example, the price of Pepsi is $2. I think it’s ridiculous. The breakfast is NOT good especially for my taste. Look like the breakfast is prepared or gathering only to Chinese people. And, these people are having no manners talking too loudly while they are talking to each other. The hotel should have a policy to tell their guests to be considerate to other guests who want to seat and eat quietly without having to be bothered and rude by certain guests.
The structure is more than good even if it is a little dated. The room is quite large and clean; the shower water is hot and the WiFi signal is great. The hotel offers a complete personal hygiene set for free that other hotels often do not offer. If I have to (necessarily) make a criticism of the structure I must say that I would have appreciated an electrical socket near the bed.
We have stayed at many $40-$70/night hotels in Vientiane and Mekong Hotel was probably the best bang for buck. We stayed in the superior suite. It was very spacious. We got a big bed + a sitting area with a coffee table and some chairs. The room felt more like a home set up than a hotel room which we really appreciated. Breakfast was limited to just ordering four things from the menu. Staff were ok but not all speak English. The hotel location is close to a lot of tourists things to see and do plus many shops nearby. The price was reasonable. I would definitely stay again.
Mekong may be an old building, but they kept it well maintained and cleanliness is superb. The location is just a walk to night market and about 10 minutes to city center. Suit any mid-range budget travelers.

“Good Location for Food, Less So for Sightseeing”
I stayed at Mekong Hotel during a short visit to Vientiane. The biggest plus is its location — there are plenty of food options nearby, which is very convenient. However, it's not within walking distance to most attractions or central areas, so getting around usually requires taking a taxi or tuk-tuk. The room was clean but quite old-fashioned, and the facilities are basic. Staff were polite, though not particularly attentive. Overall, it’s a decent place for a short stay if you're okay with using transport to get around.
