Prima guesthouse”

Geschikt voor 1 nacht wanneer je de Kong Lor Cave wil bezoeken. Voldoende uitleg over de cave en over mogelijkheden van openbaar vervoer. Restaurant was redelijk. Kamer is schoon, douche is warm. Mensen die er werken zijn vriendelijk en spreken voldoende engels om uitleg aan te vragen

toen we binnen kwamen werden we al onaardig ontvangen. geen service verlenen, en ook geen informatie geven over waar we wel kunnen eten. Op de website staat dat het een restaurant is, maar dat zijn ze niet meer. ook de kamer werd niet verschoont. een nachtmerrie... ontbijt ook zeer onsmakeijk. ik kom hier nooit meer... als agoda zou ik dit bedrijf uit de lijst halen....

YIKES!”

I thought the place had closed as I approached. There was a person watching tv in the reception area that gave me a key. It was just a sad place that may have been decent 25 years ago. No one in the restaurant, no other guests that I could detect, no cars or motos, no life except for the tv watcher. yikes.

Too expensive for a small Lao village”

We were the only guests in the hotel the night we arrived. Our room was decent but the staff didn't give us the AC remote. Granted we paid only for a fan room, but de were the only ones, we had paid 20 USD for a night (3 times the price of the other guest houses in the village) and our fan was broken. Even with window protections our room was filled with small bugs in the evening. We found that the floor under the bed was not clean at all (we found a lot of dust and an ear cleaner). The breakfast is not included, even for the expensive price. The Konglor cave is at the opposite side of the hotel (20-30 mins walking distance). Way to expensive for the accommodation.

Good English Speaking Manager”

The manager of this guest house speaks good English which is VERY helpful as most of the villagers around do not. Also the guesthouse restaurant has very good sized "clean" (meaning you are not likely to get sick) meals.

Nice place to hang out....”

...after seeing the cave. Look out over the valley. Pet the dogs. Eat the crispy fried chicken. Enjoy the silence.

Very nice guest house. Konglor is beautiful calm village and my stay at Chantha made it memorable. Pros Clean rooms/bathrooms Location (15 min walk to KongLor) Reasonable price. (cheaper) Stay and food. Restaurant (Make against order so hot n fresh) Terrace for relaxation or timelapsing the sunset across the mountain. Awsome Staff. Cons Nothing much. But I would say just for improvement. Remove the mold( common in humid climate) in main hall above the dining area. Surely there are others areas inside and outside. If anyone allergic to dogs three are two pet dogs which are adorable. please let the owner know don't allow it inside the lobby. He would be happy for that. There is bus starting from near by Chantha at 7 am to Vientiane. That's the only bus else take Songtel to Nahin. I recommend this place for sure Deserve a 5 star. As I said 1 star die. for the improvement they can be considered.

Great service ”

Through no fault of the guest house the electricity supply was cut during the night, so fans and air conditioning was not functional. Without any prompting, my room fee was discounted. The host was incredibly friendly and efficient and spoke English very well. Fully recommend this guest house.

Basic at best”

We didn't expect much from Kong Lor, so isolated is it. But Chantha was disappointing nonetheless. It's overpriced for a start, other places in the village are far cheaper. The staff were lazy and inattentive (e.g. sitting watching TV and refusing to make food despite a sign saying the kitchen was open from 6.30am to 9pm). There was a horrible mangy dog hanging round the premises and the WiFi barely worked (we had to manually reset the router ourselves...). We checked out a day early. The cave is worth visiting but don't stay here.

The dark wooden-bedroom was cosy and clean . The staff is incredibly friendly... and generous: On the 1st night they offered me proper Lao meal and ate with them for free! I felt home. Magical location.

A good guesthouse for visiting Bang Lor Cave”

Very friendly staff. They even made us breakfast when we had to leave very early. The room was clean. We were two friends and we shared the bed- we would recommend to get two single bed, because there is only one duvet and so for two people it is very small.

Good option for Kong Lor Cave visit ”

Ban Kong Lor is THE place to stay if visiting Tham Kong Lor (cave). Incredibly quiet and isolated village location. The actual village (behind the run of guesthouses on the "main" road is leafy and offers up to 20 Homestays, nearly all of which did not seem to have guests when we were there. The river behind the village is a must-walk in morning or evening. However if you prefer western comforts, then Chantha House offers fantastic big rooms and great outdoor dining area surrounded by working fields which was a big plus in the evening. Owner speaks excellent English and is very helpful and accommodating. All the staff (think part of the one family) very attentive. Beds are bit springy and bathroom was clean but little small (but only in context of all the other big features the GH offers). Breakfast served from 6.30am which allows enough time to catch the 7am local bus to Route 13/Vientiane, which will pick you up outside Chantha House- bus sleeps o/n in village (arrives 5pm).

Cozy and friendly guesthouse in beautiful location”

Very friendly place close to Konglor surrounded by mountains and nature. Idyllic to eat dinner outside and hear the sounds of frogs while falling asleep. The owners also cook tasty and affordable food. Highly recommended!
