Con we didn’t get the room with twin bed but we got upgraded to a suite the next day which was awesome! Breakfast lots of option cheap buffet and declines! Will return again if ever back in Guangzhou.

I stayed with my wife and 2 young kids for 12 days during CNY. Very good location with subway nearby. You can access very authentic cantonese food around the place, there are also some nice bar and Turkey dessert shop. The hotel room is clean. I stayed in the luxury double room, after putting 2 single bed together, it's more than enough for 2 adults and 2 young kids. The staff are very friendly and helpful. However, there are some smoking smell from the air conditioning, hope the management can work on it.

Booked a business room. The room is small and looks very old. Bed was sagging, carpet smell, aircon is not cold, and a very ancient safe in the room.

I didn’t received my deposit back , pool was closed”
Breakfast cost me 128RMB, payed 500rmb deposit and was not given any proof of it, because i am European and used to clear transactions, after customer service told to wait until they send my money back to my card, what never happened. With all questions they say they don’t speak English

We often visit Guangzhou for the weekend to wind down after a hectic week of work. Our requirement for a weekend hotel is a smart, clean room that is reasonably priced. The Ocean hotel easily delivers this, the rooms are smart, modern and clean, more like a 5 star China hotel than a 4 star. We have stayed 3 times in the last 6 weeks and will continue to use this hotel as it represents exceptionally good value for money. The location too is well placed and close to many restaurants and a flash shopping mall with the worlds best brands...

Amazing”
wow, the ocean hotel really impressed me. there was plenty of staff at front counter and english was good. all staff incredibly helpful with providing info and maps when trying to locate places. unfortunately only stayed one night but it will certainly be where i stay again when in guangzhou. the room was very clean, and spacious enough. air conditioning worked well too as this had been a problem in a few other hotels. food i cant comment on as i didn't eat there though the restaurants looked like they provided very decent meals, and the decor was cool :)

Best bang for your bucks!”
Pros: 1. The location of the hotel is great. Its very centralized with loads of eateries around it. 2. The theme of the hotel is cool, together with its various deco, all of which blend in nicely. 3. The staffs were friendly. The bell boys were quick to help with our luggage every time we alight from the taxi. 4. Its very easy to get hold of a taxi there compared to the last hotel I stayed, which is Joven Star Hotel. 5. The room was clean and tidied up nicely the next day. 6. For this price, you probably have to pay at least 30% more for other hotel. 7. A 24-hour mart is just next door on the right of the hotel. 8. The Macau restaurant on the right too (level 2) offers nice food at value for money prices. Do ask for the set meal menu for bangs on your bucks! 9. Every cabby seemed to know this hotel compared to the last two I have stayed where the drivers had to scratch their head hard to figure out where they were! I heard from one of the cabbies that this hotel is more than 20 years old and well-know around GZ. 10. The WI-FI in the room is an absolute +++ point of the hotel! 11. Need I say more? Cons: 1. The “mini” supermarket offers little goods and essentials. 2. The saloon looks doggy and old. 3. The TV in the room is very small. 16” for that room size! 4. The safe box is extremely hard to figure out how to use it. Took me 20mins!!! (tip: after step 1 which is to ‘activate” the safe, step 2 is to lock the safe before step 3 which is to key in the password! Weird!!!)

Good service in good location”
I have stayed in Ocean Hotel a few times I was in Guangzhou. The location is good where it is walking distance to eateries. Most important is Ocean Hotel has got very good staff who took care of us while we were there . FYI, we nearly got ripped off in another branded hotel in GZ due to some booking mistake. We then did a last minute booking with Ocean and they would so accommodating to us. I'll give them a 5 star for their service. Most importantly, we feel very safe when staying in GZ.

We are very pleased to its Hotel Ocean. All you need for shopping, work or leisure, there are close to this hotel. We were in the room - a business, we settled on the 25 floor and the window was a great view from the window which was certainly a pleasure. Of course, if we will come to Canton again, we will choose this hotel, but expensive room for the price. Breakfasts were very good and service at the hotel are very high. Nice Hotel for a Business Trip”
We arrived around 10:30 in the evening, and we were given a room with 2 small beds contarty to what we requested onlie that we wanted a Queensize bed. Their explanation is that we did not inform them in advance that we wanted a big bed that is why they gave us what is available, a room with 2 small beds. They transferred us to another room with a big bed the following bed. It was a comfortable stay for us, especially we were on a business trip. It was raining during the days were in Guangzhou, we did not really had enough time to see the place. We will have future trips to Guangzhou and we intend to stay again in Ocean Hotel.

Having been to Guangzhou several weeks earlier on a trip to Paris, I was seeking a 4 - 5 star hotel with a budget of $us per night. The room as a minimum had to have: 1. Room service 2. Wi-Fi 3. Bath tub 4. Cable television with a large plasma I am pleased to advise the hotel met all of the above requirements +++++. The price of the room, advance purchase rate $Us.

Convenient location situated in central city”
The location of the hotel is in central city. Walking distance to the metro station is about 7 minutes away which is ideal as the metro is able to get you easily to most places in central Guangzhou. In terms of the location of the station on the metro line map its in the middle. The only complaint is that there are only two lifts servicing a hotel with 27 floors. This was made unpleasant when during our period of stay there is always one of the lift in service. However for the price paid its still a decent hotel.

I stay in a large clean room that was very comfort stay. This is a recommended business and conference hotel. There are a lot of local restaurant around and i have no problem with my every meal. The hotel is in the city and with shopping center near by, this is good for shopping too. I enjoyed the stay so much at ocean hotel with all the friendly and helpful staff.

always stay at this hotel in guangzhou. well located within easy reach of business centre, markets, food outlets etc. there is a convenience store and bank just outside the hotel. taxis are readily available. staff speak a very good share of english. rooms are nice and clean and very affordable. there is a secure safety deposit box room next to reception for all your valuables.

I went to Guangzhou for business and it was the first time that I tried this hotel. I was very happy with location and had a very happy stay at the hotel. It was clean and it was great value for money. There is a nice bar and has good westernized food. There was a convenience store attached to the hotel and there was a massage salon in the hotel. The staff were friendly and overall I had a great stay. I will definitely be back.
