“Hungry? Can’t beat this location in a lively hutong”

The location of this place is amazing - 10 metres from a snack street - this place is pumping basically from around 10am till close to midnight and has so many food options but especially tempting are the drinks and desserts. It is 300m to Nanluoguxiang metro station which is super convenient to get around Beijing. Down the road is a really pretty river with some nice bridges - great photo opportunities. There is also a nice pizza bar in the same street (Yu’er ) on the way to the river. Be aware that as it is in a hutong, cars/taxis/DiDi’s are forbidden in the area so best place to be dropped is the gate at the metro station - South Luogu Lane Memorial Archway. (We didn’t know this and had a much longer walk with luggage). With wheeled bags it’s not too bad to walk from the metro along South Luigi Lane to Yu’er St. Laundry can be done for you for CNY50 per bag. They give you a bottle of water each day. We had 2 private rooms. The rooms were comfortable, beds a bit on the hard side to what we are used to but we still slept. One bathroom had a lot of mold - bit too much, the other one was fine, just old, to be expected in a place like this. Note that toilet paper isn’t to be flushed so take some ziplock bags so your bathroom doesn’t get smelly. Rooms were serviced daily. I can’t say what went on in the shared rooms, but overall it was a quiet atmosphere. Staff did their best to help and are quick on the translation apps. Be wary of the rickshaw drivers, maybe go to a different area for that. If location is important to you, and you are ok with old but clean, then this is a great place to spend a few days. I would definitely stay there again.

    “Exceptional”

This hostel is in a great location — set in a quiet residential neighborhood, but still just a short walk from the metro, convenience stores, local restaurants, and within walking distance of many of Beijing’s top attractions. The area felt safe and friendly, and the street is popular with travelers, which helps create a more welcoming atmosphere — especially important in China, where not all accommodations are open to foreign tourists. The staff were kind, friendly, spoke English well, and were always happy to help with anything I needed. I was initially worried about cleanliness, especially with shared bathrooms, but everything was clean and well-maintained during my stay. That said, the bathrooms didn’t have toiletries, so be sure to bring your own. The dorm room was spacious, had air conditioning and personal lockers, but unfortunately the beds didn’t have privacy curtains. I had the bad luck of sharing the room with some older men who snored extremely loudly, and I had to ask for a different bed. The staff were understanding and moved me to a bed further from them (within the same room), which helped me get some sleep the following night. There’s a café connected to the hostel and drinks available for purchase at reception. The front desk also helps organize tours, which can be convenient if you're looking to explore more of the city or nearby areas. All in all, it’s a well-located, foreigner-friendly hostel with a helpful team, making it a solid choice for travelers visiting Beijing.

“Good budget hostel in a super convenient location”

I stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days and had a pretty good experience overall. The location is honestly the best part—it’s only about a 5-minute walk to Nanluoguxiang Station, which makes it really easy to get around the city. The area around the hostel is also super cute, with lots of little shops, food spots, and things to check out. I stayed in an all-female dorm. The beds were firm, but I didn’t mind. Each bed had a little makeshift curtain and a reading light, which was nice for a bit of privacy. There were lockers in the room too, and if you forget to bring a lock, the front desk will give you one. The room had its own bathroom and shower, which was convenient, but the shower did have some mold. Not ideal, but manageable for a short stay. The staff at the front desk were really friendly! Their English was limited, but we used a translator app and had no problems communicating. If you’re looking for a cheap place to stay that’s close to the subway and easy to get around from, this hostel does the job. It’s not fancy, but it’s affordable and in a great spot.

    “Don't regret, don't recommend ”

I don't necessarily regret staying here, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it. At this price, I think you could do much much better. Pros: -Beds are quite comfortable, AC works very well -Close to lovely hutongs that are nice to ride a bike through at night. Also close to things like the Bell and Drum towers, which are also great at night. -Decently sociable if you want it to be -Close to a major subway line, generally good access to a lot of sights Cons: -Bathrooms are pretty bad. Small, dirty, no ammenities at all -In my dorm room, beds were "infirmary style" - just a row of beds out in the open. Makes it hard to accomodate different schedules. -Despite proximity to interesting locations, it being just off a majorly touristic hutong was a bit exhausting at times. Having to navigate huge crowds on that main street to get back to your place wasn't great -Pretty dang expensive for what you're getting
