Where to stay in Bokèo
Bokèo hotels & accommodations
It was great. We only stayed one night before doing the Gibbon experience but the room was well equipped and clean, as well as comfy. The staff were efficient and I liked that there was an attached restaurant. I liked all tee of the meals I ate there although my friends thought their one meal was bland. All in all a great location for a border town hotel and deserving ...
Deserted hotel, short of staff, no service, empty restaurant with dirty dishes left in the corner. The hotel is located 15 min from the city with taxi. The only thing that attracted us when booking is the fact that the hotel has a pool. However the pool is accessible from outside guests too for a fee.
Superb location. Clean, spacious rooms, helpful staff. I would (read: will likely) book again. II haven in Lao three times, last in Huay Xai before the new bridge was built. As all the immigration traffic, activities are now out of town (about 10 km south), Huay Xai is much chiller than it was. I decided to stay two days—and only headed out as I needed to find a cargo ...
Staff was great! Spoke English and helped organize our mekong river 2 day cruise. I highly recommend booking through them since we got assigned seating unlike the huge tour group that came in after us and ended up sitting on the floor or in the back near the engine. The room was basic but everything you need plus restaurants across the street.
The hotel and the rooms are ok and the (a bit remote) location offers a nice view on the Mekong and Chiang Khong on the Thai side. Staff speaks almost no English, ordering our (good) meals in the restaurant was a challenge (gestures and noises helped though). As stated many times in other ratings, we were also "lucky to enjoy" very loud Techno beats until midnight ...
I think this place is pretty good considering there aren't many options in this small town. It's pretty much right across the street from the Gibbon Experience (if that's why you're there), friendly staff (although they don't speak a lot of English, they were always smiling and helpful when asked), clean enough room (shower not the best, but I've seen worse) & the fuz...
The hotel is located slightly up the hill as soon as you reach the laos border. As others have mentioned the hotel was pretty much empty. The hotel is painted completely in gold but everything was of high quality and the bedrooms are huge. The beds wore by far the comfiest I've stayed in se Asia. I get the impression that the hotel was intended to be a luxury accommod...
Great internet.clean room helpful.gave rates equal to bank in exchange. Room just been decorated .they up graded me free of charge to mekong tiver view. Good value
I stayed only one night at this hotel, waiting for the slow.booat ride to Luang Prabang and it was an excellent place to rest and refresh before the 2 days on the boat. Near to everything you need, although there isn't much to see in Bokeo.I booked the slow boat from this hotel and the small difference in price (20.000 kip more) is because pick-up from the guesthouse i...
The staff looks surprised when I came in for check-in... why else would I be giving them my passport? You don't need to know English for that! Wifi doesn't work, but all in all a solid place to have a comfortable sleep at a decent price.
We stayed only one night in this hotel located a little outside the town. The rooms were baic but clean. It is perfect for one or two nights
Very basic stopover before slowboat trip to Luang Prabang.
Nice stay and quiet and relax but far from town and hotel provide van to send guest to town with free of charge
I only booked 1 night as I was getting the slow boat the next day (which the hostel kindly booked for me at a cheap price) The hostel obviously is pretty little! But cosy. The staff are so kind and helpful, the hostel is very clean and quiet, yet sociable. I had laundry done here which smelt great afterward! Would highly recommend, thank you!
