Louangnamtha hotels & places to stay

Luang namtha is one of best guesthouse experience i have had in laos as an avid business traveller through laos. High quality beds and linens with great atmosphere in the villa. Great vibes throughout, 2 star guesthouse providing 5 star service with free bicycles and also hot water, air con plus all amenities working perfectly. Location is also great as it is next to local bus station and night market. Perfect for your stay in Luang namtha before travelling to your next destination.

The Zuela Guesthouse and Restaurant is probably the best place to stay in Luang Namtha, it is very conveniently located in an small alley a few steps from the main road almost in front of the Night Market. It's location helps to keep it really quiet while still having a very good central location. The restaurant is very good, serving really generous breakfasts and good food at convenient prices, almost comparable to street food prices, but with a much better quality. The hamburger is a real western hamburger, which is not common in south-east Asia. The service by its owner could be rated easily rated number 1 on speed, attention and taking care of its customers. The place also offers the convenience of renting bikes and motorbikes. The rooms are spacious and confortable, but water pressure in the shower is very low (we have found this problem in other places in Asia).

Even if you don't stay here, make sure you eat here. Best food that we found in Luang Namtha, with most variety. The ONLY drawback for staying here is that it's a ways out of town. Food is so good that I would call it a terrific restaurant that also rents rooms, rather than calling it a hotel with good food. At least one staffperson who speaks good English was on duty at all times.

We slept here for tree nights in the cold season. The first night it was so cold, we could not sleep. The next day we asked for another blanket, after that we slept okay (the bed is hard with springs). At this moment this is the only nice place to stay in Muang Singh I think. There is a garden, the room is big and there is a restaurant with good food (especially if they have bbq on the menu). You can walk to this place from the busstation and they have a tour operation (but for us it was to expesive). The real downsite are the Aka ladys, they try to sell you all kinds of stuff and they are a bit rude.

The terrace with the view is perfect for morning coffee (they provide only hot water, coffee you can buy in the shop) and evening chilling. The place where we had best and most comfortable sleep. Panoramic window makes every morning stunning. First thing you see when you wake up - sun from the mountains and green rice fields. Internet works in the room, but sometimes it can get to slow so you can go to reception if you need it but actually after few min it works again with no problem. Sitting area inside room and in the terrace, hot water in attached bathroom - everything you could need. Owner was all the time available during our stay. You just go to their house and find her. She speaks English a little so communication is easy.

this was the best place I stayed on my trip to laos! It was a phenomenal room with a lovely deck and just a huge room! It's about a little bit out of town off the main road but well worth the 2-3 minute walk to stay here! It's one of those hotel rooms you just want to hang out in all day. The staff for a quiet but a tentativeI think everyone should experience this place!

Make a long story short don't stay here. It was cheap 10usd a night but the owner had no idea what agoda was gave us a room which I think was a hourly room due to the picture of a naked woman on the tile in the bathroom and never got any help about the area. After we left to take our bus out of town he chased us down at the bus station and accused us of not paying even though I showed him all forms of payment. He was nice enough to drop it and let us go but this place is a joke. You can find better without the hassle.

Difficult to get reception when you arrive late at night. The people in this area don't speak English. Thankful to have the guesthouse booking voucher which I showed them as proof of payment. They whisked me off to a room but it was not clean at all. Only the beds looked clean and big. Clusters of dirt on the floor and toilet had a cockroach. Not sure if walk ins are possible at 9 pm coz I would have checked other guesthouses opposite or beside this one.

We already knew the bungalows were quite far from town so this was not a problem for us and suited us well. It is in the mountains so prepare for it to be cold! We asked for an extra duvet which made it really cosy at night. The dinner and breakfast made by the owners wife was some of the best food we have had so far! I would definitely recommend walking to the local village which has a couple of hike trails which you can find on maps.me for you to explore straight from the door and the owner drove us to town in the morning. Would recommend staying here!
